  • "So Delicious" brand of anything tastes incredible. Creamer for my coffee ... egg nog for the holidays ... ice cream bars for the sweet tooth. All are gluten free and vegan. I'm sure they make a coconut milk that tastes incredible and has all the enriched vitamins you seek. I'm addicted to their egg nog!
  • I quit smoking back in 2001. Was on a trip to London with a friend of mine and watched, in horror, as he started shaking from nicotine withdrawal in the airplane and stood aside as he ran full-speed into one of those smoker’s “fish tanks” they set up for 20 smokers to all stare at the non-smokers. It was so depressing that…
  • Gluten free AND vegan ... imagine that.
  • My all time heaviest was 232. At the beginning of this year, I was 220. I weighed in today at 199. I'm shooting for 190 since I've got great momentum. This website/app is entirely responsible for my weight loss! New Pants for President!
  • Vegan. 100%. Won't even eat honey, Lost four inches in my waist. Lost a total of 13 lb (so far and the total will be 20 all said). Cut my cholesterol in half. Perfect blood pressure and heart rate. My doctor is furious because she wants me to be ill enough to need prescription drugs. I'm 45. Spent the first half of my life…
  • Yes. There are vegan iron supplements. However, vegans also get iron from all the fruist and vegetables we eat. It's like the old protein argument ... there is plenty of protein in vegetables (as well as nuts, beans and tofu).
  • Thanks for this! I actually get to dine with T. Colin Campbell now and again and have told him of my vegan adventures. I will keep saying over and over that the TRUE benfit of my vegan lifestyle (notice I say lifestyle instead of diet) is that I am finally making smart food choices. And there's nothing wrong with that!
  • You are welcome and good luck. As I tell more and more people about being vegan, I continue to remind myself that I am now (finally) making good food choices. I never thought about it before but being SO limited (I am also gluten-free) makes me eat only things that are good for me (with the occasional french fry and potato…
  • I've made it this far so there is no point in turning back now! Glad you loved it!
  • Please do. There are some parts of the film where it clearly shows the advantages of a plant-based diet (comparing Japans 14 cases of prostate cancer to the U.S.'s 14,000!) ... plus there is the whole erectile dysfunction part that keeps me going! I am living 100% drug-free and plan to do so well into my 90s! ;-) I will…
  • Interesting observation this week. I normally go at 5 am and I am one of 6 people in the gym. This week I had to go at 5 PM ... and the place was PACKED! The really intreresting part was that I worked out HARDER in the evening because there were so many more people and so much more energy! Burned twice as many calories! I…
  • Daiya is delicious! And I found an excellent recipe to make a crispy gluten-free pizza crust! Vegan sauce, mushrooms, onions, hot peppers ... all the indulgance with ZERO negative health effects. Glad you liked the story!
  • Evidence, my friend. They have actually turned cancer on and off by introducing and taking away meat protein. Plus there is the clogging of the arteries and the cholesteral levels and ... well ... watch "Forks Over Knives" and then draw your own conclusion. Of course, I type all this wishing I could dive head first into a…
  • The say vegetarians are the bi-sexuals of the world of plant-based eating. ;-) It's actually rather simple cutting out meat and fish (since eggs and dairy are still allowed). For me, it was all or nothing and I chose all. The evidence for a plant-based diet and it's advantages are too great to ignore. The trouble is,…
  • Add "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" to your Netflix cue and watch that with your family! Make some popcorn with melted earth balance or some delicious vanilla shakes with coconut ice cream and vanilla almond milk ... it's TOO easy to splurge on food even as a vegan! Oh, I'm also gluten-free so I have that challenge as well!…
  • Fill in those last calories with fruits and vegetables. Give your body the extra fuel it needs! I was way under too and was actually gaining weight by eating less ... now I eat more and am losing more weight (and I feel better).
  • Hang in there. Watch "Forks Over Knives" again and again. :)
  • I agree with the other posters who say eat your vegetables. As a reluctant vegan, that is almost all I eat. Forget the carbs and enjoy the benefits of eating delicious veggies "all you want!"
  • A sure fire way to resist all temptations is to go radical! I've been vegan since January 5th and while I am not truly enjoying a plant-based, meat ... cheese ... dairy ... free lifestyle, it keeps me 100% on task with eating right. While I still think about and crave pizza and chicken wings and steak ... I just cannot eat…
