  • Oh- and to answer the op- Exercise burns calories...calories in need to be less than calories out...exercise makes it easier. Also you look and feel better.
  • I LOVE my Wii Fit Plus! I haven't really used the step aerobics tho! Gonna have to start!!
  • wow! Fantastic! Great work! Thanks for sharing! Myfitnesspal is what worked for me too and calories and healthy eating is the key! :)
  • lol! That has happened to me before too!
  • Thanks for sharing! Keep up the GREAT work and WAY to go!! AMAZING!
  • Weather you log on here or not, your body will log for you. If you eat over maintenance continually you will gain. Logging here (or anywhere) just keeps you mindful of where your at. If you can do that without using this tool, awesome. I like using the tool :)
  • You are doing great! 8 lbs is 8 lbs!! Just keep at it. Little by little. I didn't have as much to lose as you, but I did lose almost 100 lbs. I didn't drastically change my diet, didn't really pay too much attention to 'macros' etc. other than cutting back on things I saw had more calories and less nutrition, such as…
  • Wow! Great work! You are beautiful, and look so happy! Congrats!! :D
  • Take an ibuprofen, soak in a warm/hot tub, and then do gentle stretches. Rest. Stretch a bit more next time you work out, the pain won't be so bad next time, plus you'll be even stronger! :D
  • Not many people noticed till I had lost about 30 pounds. And when I started buying newer smaller clothes, then they REALLY started noticing. It was kind of funny actually. I work in a busy salon, and it seemed to be as my clothes got smaller people really took notice. :) That and 92 lbs off my 5'3" body too, lol
  • The thing is...you can do it at first, when the weight that is coming off is partly water weight, etc. But there will come a time when you will stall, no matter how active, etc you are being. The weight loss WILL slow down. You are also going have times where you are just tired and HUNGRY, especially if you are creating a…
  • Before 90 lbs gone... After 90= lbs gone
  • I went on several vacations while losing my 90+ pounds (kids all grown so lots of little getaways!! ) . I still logged and counted, but allowed myself maintenance calories, plus a few here and there (mostly didn't count all the margaritas, but did count the cheesecake)... Kept up the exercise, making sure to walk as much…
  • I have a wii fit, and I don't have to weigh in every time I use it...just hit training, not body test. It takes you straight to the exercises... And yes, I usually still weigh after going over in calories, since I like to weigh every day, but I know that that days weight really isn't gonna stick around as long as I get…
  • What is your activity level set at, even tho you are at a desk all day, don't set it to sedentary. At least lightly active. See if that gives you a few more calories. Also, when you log exercise MFP gives you more calories, so be sure to eat some of them (sometimes the calories given are a bit too generous) as well. Since…
  • Hi, I'm about your age, so I can relate... While all the exercises will help tone your muscles, and help you burn more calories, the main way to lose the belly fat is to have a caloric deficit. Basically you have to burn more calories than you consume. So log your calories , ALL of them, every bite, every bit of cream/milk…
  • Weight loss usually goes pretty fast at first then slows way down when you get closer to your ideal weight. Some weeks you won't lose at all even tho you are still eating less, etc. Then one day you will weigh and whoosh a couple pounds gone...but remember weight fluctuates, so it will go up and down, especially when you…
  • I DEFINITELY notice this. I am 5'3' and like to keep my weight between 125 and 130. I am 47. When I was a lot heavier I could come home from work at 8:30 at night and go for a 45 min power walk, or hop on the elliptical for 30-45 min and be fine. Now if I try that I get light headed and weak. I can only make about 20 min.…
  • Steam, then add a little butter and salt and pepper. And of course bacon makes everything better. But just with butter and salt and pepper is yummy. :)
  • This... :) There are way more supportive posts here than the insensitive/snarky ones. Ignore those. I count fruit, I eat a lot of it! :) Fruit is good for you, but is part of your total calorie intake, and therefore needs to be counted and burned off :) Good luck! :)
  • Good for you for losing by portion control... For ME, I needed to log and 'count calories' to see where I was messing up in terms of my diet. I needed to start weighing/measuring food to see if I was or wasn't eating normal serving sizes. In some cases I upped serving sizes (veggies/proteins) and lowered servings of things…
  • I love PB2 and I LOVE peanut butter. :) So I use both. PB2 I use mostly to flavor my shakes, or yogurt like peanut butter, without so many calories...but for sandwiches I like the real thing. PB2 is a great alternative for someone who wants to save calories for other things...at least it was for me when I was losing... :)
  • Maybe, as a 20 year old, and not a teen, you need to look at your clothing sizes. Not to gain weight, but to realize you shouldn't have a teenage body any more. Try to just be the healthiest you can, and maybe your body is saying you need to fill out a little bit. :) And yes, I adjust my calories when I feel I'm creeping…
  • If you are talking 2-3 even 5 pounds, you will fluctuate forever. It is what human bodies do. We are really mostly water and that water weight will always fluctuate our weight based on sooo many things. Don't worry about just a few pounds here and there. I am maintaining within 5 or so pounds and have been slowly…
  • I lost over 90 lbs exercising only at home and outside (walking/running)and am continuing to maintain doing the same. I do have a very good quality elliptical that I purchased at Costco. I also do a variety of wii fit and wii active exercises. I have some light weights up to 10 lbs that I use a few times a week. Basically…
  • I don't think there is a 'better' just go by what you like/ and or are needing in your diet. I like both, but I use the unsweetened almond milk (30 cal) in my shakes/coffee because it frees up a few calories for other things...like wine. lol :)
  • Time...just keep doing what your doing, your body has to catch up and adjust to the 13 pound loss you've already achieved. If you don't have much more to lose the last few pounds can come off slower, but if you don't give up they will come off. Try changing up your exercise routine, foods/ calories etc. to encourage your…
  • I drink/drank coffee all through my weight loss AND Wine frequently (as in almost every day). Just budget it in and make healthy food choices! I did learn that I like almond milk in my coffee, and even adapted to drinking black coffee at work if I was having a 'need more coffee' kind of day, lol. I do use stevia type…
