  • Still confused... How is using a food processor to chop vegetables any different than using a knife to chop vegetables? Or your teeth to bite and chew them? I can understand that the fresh, whole ingredients that were chopped up might lose some nutritional value after a period of time, but why stay away from it?
  • I changed my settings to show fiber alongside my carbs. That way you can just look and subtract.. but it is very annoying to see veggies bumping up the carb count!
  • Pre-cooked Lentils Just Chicken - Teriyaki Turkey Meatloaf Classic Hummus!!!! I honestly can't do their produce. I've been to one in AZ and one in LA and there's alwaaays fruit flies around. Totally grosses me out. However, my boyfriend just turned me on to shopping there in the past couple months and each time I go I get…
  • I calculated my BMR at about 1350 and TDEE at 1650 (for non-workout days, I also have a desk job). 1350 is what I essentially need for my body to function, so I've been trying to eat AT LEAST that. However, since I'm burning calories throughout the day just living and working, I put my calorie goal at 1450. That way I'm…
  • And it only tastes really awful for the first couple days. I mix with 4 oz water and drink it down no problem now :drinker:
  • Agreed! That and... -It helps me make sure I eat all my perishables, too, so I don't waste any 'forgotten' food. -I always leave about 100 calories of wiggle room -Helps me stick to ordering healthy options at restaurants
  • I considered adding milk thistle, but I also started drinking a 'liver cleanse' every morning (4 oz pure cranberry juice, 1Tbsp lemon juice, 1Tbsp apple cider vinegar). I figured the milk thistle would be redundant and waaaaay more expensive, so I'm sticking to my drink. I am curious about what others have to say though...
  • Agreed. I was adding Subway just the other day and came across the same thing. I was too lazy to enter my own info, so I just picked an MFP user's sandwich that was close to mine.
  • Bump.. I'm ALWAYS under on fat and over on carbs
  • I want to make these this week. Anyone tried them!?
  • Thanks! That helps a lot!!
  • Haha you're welcome! I'm too lazy to figure it out myself when I eat froyo, but glad I could help you!
  • .15 lbs * 16 oz/lb = 2.4 oz * (80 calories / 4 oz) =48 calories of Pecan Praline .03 lbs * 16 oz/lb = .48 oz * (100 calories / 4 oz) = 12 calories of Vanilla Soo... 60 calories of yogurt total plus your toppings
  • Mmmm!! I love beans! I usually pick up a bag of dry pinto beans and cook a bunch for the week (cheaper & less additives than canned). I'm pretty boring with them though.. adding just some cheese and/or salsa or adding them to soup. I could just eat them plain
  • I'm curious... Care to elaborate?
  • Yay protein powder! I add it to everything.. cereal, pudding, cottage cheese, mashed bananas, oatmeal, etc.. yummy! Also, beans and lentils added to soups and salads will definitely give you some extra calories.. and lots of other good stuff :)
  • Hi all! I made the pancakes Saturday.. super easy and I did end up blending all the ingredients together that morning. I was a little skeptical at first because the batter seemed a little thin and runny, but they turned out great! The recipe made 3 large , thin pancakes (I had no control over the size since the batter just…
  • Thanks everyone! I'll stick to whisking them together in the morning, sans blender  Can't wait to try them!!
  • That's what I was always thinking, too.. which was why I was so shocked by the percentages it gave! I'll check out that group, thanks!!
  • Fruit/Veggies: -Grapefruit -Apples -Baby Carrots -Sweet potato -Frozen mixed veggies Dairy: -Greek Yogurt -Cottage Cheese -String Cheese -Protein Pudding Grains: -Oatmeal -Low calorie, high fiber cereal -Popcorn -Protein Crisps Meat & 'Meat' -Frozen Chicken Breast -Frozen Shrimp -Morningstar Chik'n, Veggie, Black…
  • I can see how this could become an obsessive thing :) I'm just trying to go based on the serving measurements. If a serving of oatmeal is 1 cup, then I'll use a cup. If chicken is 3 oz, then I'll weigh it. Nice and simple
  • Fish & avocado... gaaag!!! I don't think this is the popular opinion but I literally can't swallow either :/
  • I'm sure these are all ideas that have been posted, but... -Cottage cheese -Greek yogurt -String cheese -Morningstar burgers (usually around 100 calories and about 10g protein) -Smashed banana with vanilla protein powder... yummy!! Also, I found these protein chips from Kay's Naturals that go great with hummus or on their…
  • This happened to me when I started taking a multivitamin in the morning. I just switched to taking it with lunch or dinner and with plenty of food (like I don't take it until at least half way through my meal). No problems since!
  • I'm in the same boat.. not a lot of time before work. I usually microwave some egg whites and add turkey sausage or make oatmeal w/ flaxseed meal the night before and heat it up the next morning. Also, add protein powder to everything I can haha
  • Agreed! I just started looking at people's diaries tonight and 1) I'm surprised by how many people haven't logged anything (maybe it's a holiday weekend thing...?) and 2) the things people eat are shocking! A straight breakfast of Krispy Kreme donuts or 4 slices of Papa John's for lunch?? The thought of having to see all…
