I rarely post to the forum and a dissenting opinion is not an easy post, but I am going to go out on a limb and disagree, at least with the majority of those who have replied. I do think most of us are addicted to food. By definition, addiction is a condition that results when a person ingests a substance (alcohol,…

I feel like that when I eat to much, too fast and/or don't chew well...food backs up from my stomach. Good luck!

I HATE cottage cheese and use ricotta. The low/non fat kind is low cal and has the same protein as cottage. I eat 1/4 cup with cinnamon and splenda to taste (about 1tsp of each). Gives me a sweet treat that is good for me. REally good with berries when you can add them to your diet :-)

Good evening everyone from the San Francisco Bay area, where I have been a slacker for days. This week the job had me working 12+ hour days and by Thursday I just could not add any exercise to the mix. To add insult to injury, I slipped into old habits and ate candy in response to the stress. Hope I see a loss when I weigh…

Sorry about your Doxie, I have two seniors and know the heart ache of seeing them struggle with back issues. Theresa

Clmcnett - Congratulations for facing your fear and having the courage join us. You are in a safe and supporting environment....I have NEVER seen any criticism or judgment here.

WOW, great job everyone!!! Keep it up.

Happy Sunday. It feels really indulgent to say this (given the weather around so much of the country), but today started with a 3.0 mile walk outside

That said, I am eating more (volumne) and have significantly increasde my health and unhealthy carbs. I want to leave processed sugar behind again and hope by loss picks up to a…

Great idea - I suggest a move it challenge where we each set our own movement/fitness goals for a week/month.

Thank you for this thought, each and every time I grumble about my loose skin I'm going to try to recall this quote. Victoria, I know very few people who have truly resolved the loose skin issue without surgery. One of my friends swears taking collegen supplements has helped her skin tighten up. I look forward to following…

Yes, I hit a stall at week three and did not lose for nearly two weeks (I was sleeved 5/28). I wanted to scream and cry I was so frustrated. I was doing everything right and the weight was not coming off, then poof, one day it started again. I wish I would say I did this or that, but I just kept to my program and good…

Comfortably fitting in an airline seat, not needing to ask for a seat belt extension, AND having extra room with the seat belt. Felt sooooo good!

Sounds like a great idea! Guess the answer really depends on your definition of cold weather. I live in Northern California, where temps are between 35-60 depending on time of day (I am freezing, you'd think I was at the north pole). I wear thermal tops and underwear, a hat, gloves and a warm but light weight coat. I have…

I need to edit my CW, it's 215, a typo (ok, I subconciosly couldn't face the 1 pound weight gain). Here's to a good loss on Friday's weight in

I'm in! I weigh in each Friday, so I'll start with the first Friday in December. I will miss my 12/20 weigh in becasue I'll be on vacation, but I'll update on 12/22 when I return home to my scale. My Numbers: SW: 337 CW: 215 GW: 200 LTGW: 160 Weigh-ins: Week 1: 12/06/13 = Week 2: 12/13/13 = Week 3: 12/20/13 = Week 4:…

Congratulations! I was sleeved on 5/28/13. If you had asked me 3 days post op, I would have told you it was the biggest mistake ever, however, within a week I was feeling better and now, months out, I have no regrets. The first couple of weeks will be challenging, but keep your eye on the future. It's all worth it and this…

Sorry you're feeling down, but I have faith you can still enjoy the day. Family and loved ones are what make it special, not the food. If you really need both, and the food is really important, make a plate and put one bite of everything on it. Taste everything rather than eat everything. Small bites and eat slow. This way…

As Dan said, you'll get lots of opinions, and like him, I say moderation. It is VERY had to give up sugar and the calories in it and artificial sweetener, but the less chemically produced food like products we eat, the better I think we'll be. Do some research on how these products are made. When I learned splenda is two…
