How much do you weigh?

Oh yeah, definitely doable in a year for someone who is relatively untrained. Still will likely be difficult, though.

As someone who spent his almost entire weight loss in the strength range, Id have to agree with Sara as far as lifting the the hyper range is good for improving form. its hard some times to have great form if you are lifting in the strength range consistently. I found that my muscles fire better as I've been lifting in the…

Probably eating more calories than you think or realize. Understand that you cannot create energy out of thin air, so if you're eating less than you burn, you will lose weight eventually.

Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward. There comes a time where you simply cannot improve body composition due to diminishing returns. This usually is a side effect of lower muscle mass. I had to come to the same realization that simply dropping more weight wasn't going to make my body look better. Fast…

Aim for .35-.45g per lb of lean body mass, you want your carbs to be higher when bulking.

A pound of muscle only contains 600 calories, so if you have to dip into muscle tissue to supply your body with energy, that's bad over time. That happens in small amounts every day, but long term is very bad. Edit: And I do agree with the OP, starvation mode is severely overused here. Fact, most people suck at counting…

Sounds like you're skinny fat.

Your body doesn't really change shape until you get well under 20% body fat (for men). Until that point, you simply look like a smaller version of the same body. Edit: And its very likely your "goal weight" is too high. People always overestimate how much fat they have and underestimate how much muscle they have. The vast…

Good, with a losing attitude like that, good luck with your gastric bypass goals of 2013

Get low body fat, fatceps aren't impressive. :)

Protein shakes are nothing more than a supplemental way to get extra protein in your diet. Your protein requirements should not fluctuate. Find a protein intake adequate for your fitness, training, and calorie intake goals and stick with it. I recommend 1/g per lb of lean body mass. set it and forget it.

It really depends on your form and the amount of weight your lifting, for me, I feel it most in my glutes and traps. I also feel it in my hammies, hip flexors, abs and lower back as well. I've always found when I lock out and kinda lean back at the top, it really seems to target my traps. But will most exercises, its all…
