  • Congrats to all the upcoming brides! My wedding is 40 days away! I started my "healthier" way of life about four months ago..... I'm 15 lbs lighter but more than that 16 inches smaller (mostly in the middle). It has been slow, but I truly look like a different person. About a week ago everyone asked what I've been doing…
  • Hey Friends! Scales are headed in the right direction! Anyone finding it harder to get to the gym now that it is COLD? (Well, if you're in the Northeast...) SW: 180 W#2 (1/4): 179 W#3 (1/10): 178.0 W#4 (1/17) 178.0 W#5 (1/24) 177.0 GW (for challenge): 172 I need to pull some big numbers... TOM is headed my way so trying to…
  • Hey Peeps! I never posted last week. Bah. SW: 180 W#2 (1/4): 179 W#3 (1/10): 178.0 W#4 (1/17) 178.0 GW (for challenge): 172 My inches are falling off... So upped my GW for this challenge. I'd love to hit 172 since that would put me at exactly 20 lbs! I will post tomorrow... Been a crazy week :) LOOK AT THE LOSSES!
  • Due to some illness/physical limitations, I only use free weights. I feel like there are so many benefits. It definitely has helped my core! As PP says, you're using many more muscles! Congrats on the switch. I really think that you will like it. And also see some great results :)
  • Hi Ladies... Look at the losses! Great job :) I need to get in more veggies this week... Anyone else? SW: 180 Wi #2 (1/4): 179 Wi #3 (1/10): 178.0 GW (for challenge): 169 I'm happy! Not allowing wedding stress to turn into eating :) Have a great week!
  • Hey Everyone.... I'm back from Mexico. 10 weeks til wedding and the invites are in the mail. SW: 180 Wi #1 (1/4): 179 GW (for challenge): 169 I LOST a pound on vacation.... I must have REALLY hit the gym hard :) Hope everyone is surviving cold!!! Good losses and don't get discouraged if the scale went the other way.
  • Hey Ladies (I don't think I passed any men, but if I did- SORRY).... My current group ends next week so this is awesome. I'm a bride to be - March 9... Have dropped about 15+ inches and 12 lbs since Oct. 1. Feeling great! That being said, I'm off to Mexico for TWO weeks leaving on Sunday. I will weigh first thing when I…
  • I agree with the logging it - no matter what. I ate about 4 or 5 "fun size" Milky Way a week or so ago and when I looked back all I could think was "what a waste". Remember you're ultimately (I'd think) trying to change your lifestyle and make it manageable for you. So if you go out to eat, to parties, etc on the weekends…
  • Congrats... That is an awesome feeling :) Keep up your good work!!!
  • Isn't it sad that there are so many people who want to bring you down? I have told next to no one about what I'm doing.... I'm eating healthier, working out regularly and after about 6 weeks feeling great with how things are going. So I'm going to keep changing my lifestyle for ME and for no one else. That's what's…
  • It is good that it made you smile! It absolutely should! Keep up the good work :)
  • Hi Ladies.... I'm a March 9, 2013 BRIDE :) YAY! And a Sept. 7, 2013 BRIDESMAID :) I'm incredibly motivated and just keep chugging along. More than the weight I want to "look good" and "feel good". So we will see how it goes! Sending you all luck on this journey and together let's keep each other motivated!
  • I'm totally in! This is exactly what I need! SW (11/1): 186.8 (fluctuating from my lowest so far but it is TOM- lucky me ;)) I'd love to hit 179 by Dec. 1! Also a bride to be (March 9, 2013) so I'm motivated. Something I'd like to work on this week is getting in more veggies and doing my abs and push ups daily! Here we…
  • Popcorn is a good low cal salty option..... I have a hard time stopping when it comes to chocolate but the fudgesicles are good..... Just a few thoughts... It is tough... I'm heading into it now too.
  • I'm interested in what you're describing here... I'm a 28 year old female who was diagnosed with fibro about four years ago now..... My PCP has been my biggest advocate in getting my constant pain under control and I highly recommend seeking a PCP or rheumotogist who believes that fibro exists (some will say it doesn't)...…
  • Life can be tremendously overwhelming... Although I don't have my own child(ren), I work at a boarding school and am constantly surrounded by them... I have my own 27 14-15yr old girls... Every mother's dream? My schedule is crazy like yours... Usually up late for class and then running from there onwards until 6/7pm. It…
  • That's awesome! Good for you! Love the idea of "treat" days instead of "cheat" days. Here's to many more :)
  • I love 30DS! Could you try not being so vigorous with your cardio portions? What if you layer a shirt or two over your bra? I definitely understand. I wear 2-3 bras/bra tops when I work out trying to smoosh my ladies down some.
  • What about walking around your building a few times on breaks? You could make it a timed/goal thing. Also, there is always space for some pushups and situps in your cubicle or something like that. Add in a plank or two for 1 min. Park further away when you run errands and at work. A little extra walk is good. Just some…
  • i think one of the hardest things about going to the gym is wondering what other people think of you, etc.... I'm giving you MAJOR kudos for going in and getting yourself in there! It sounds like you have a great plan! I'd say that you should stay consistent and stick to it and I think you'll see that your cardio improves…
  • Remember you body needs time for adjustment too! It can be SO frustrating not to see the scale move... I used to be happy it just hadn't gone UP! :) Make sure with your exercise you're drinking water. It helps tremendously! Good luck.
  • Don't get discouraged.... Remember our weight creeps on far faster than it decides to slide off. As I've been futzing with my medications for about a year now, I completely understand what you are going through. Glad to hear your doc is running a few more tests just to check up on things. I know it takes time and that…
  • Good for you! Keep going! An inspiration :)
  • Hi There.... Support is one thing you'll find PLENTY of here! My mom urged me to join MFP about three weeks ago and it has truly helped me be accountable and aware of the food I consume and how much I'm moving. I'm a big sister of the most wonderful younger brother with severe mental retardation (or intellectual disability…
  • I was diagnosed with Fibro 3 years ago.... I'm struggling right now because it seems that I have some medications that are interacting so we are working on that... The hardest part for me was just to get moving. Once I did, I am usually fine. Start simply- a 20-30 min walk, etc. See how your body responds not just the day…
  • I work with a trainer 2x's a week and do Jillian's 30DS another 3 days... Sometimes I think Jillian calls my trainer to tell her that I cheated on my planks in level 2. I am a huge fan and think her DVDs really work if you stick to them. Add me if you'd like.
  • Congratulations... Sometimes our NSVs are bigger than when the numbers change! :) Keep up the good work!
  • Have you tried to stirfry with a bit of a simple sauce (less than a tablespoon with a bit of water is usually fine)? You can get a ton in that way. Also- another easy way is to make sure you are eating a salad a day. I'm NOT a veggie girl- so I feel you pain.
  • I think the biggest thing is being honest and figuring out the best thing for you. The PPs have some good ideas... What about salad with chicken for lunch giving you a bit more "wiggle room" for dinner? There are so many restaurant foods on here and I've found it to be fairly extensive- you can usually find what you're…
  • I think this is one of the hardest things about being a teacher. Like PP, I'm a high school teacher. I have a bit more flexibility, but each day is different and I'm always trying to figure out the best "times". I've found it does help if I start my day with a big glass of water and then take care of it before the day…
