Exercise Suggestions

Hi and thanks for helping.

I am a Systems Administrator, fifty years old and twenty five pounds over weight. Because of my work, I sit around all day in front of a computer. My office is on the ground floor of a one floor building. It is intellectually stimulating but not physically stimulating. I started eating properly and getting in forty minutes of aerobic exercise every other day.

I need suggestions for incorporating more movement into my daily schedule. What can I do around the office that does not involve exercise clothes and a shower?

Thanks

  • What about walking around your building a few times on breaks? You could make it a timed/goal thing.

Also, there is always space for some pushups and situps in your cubicle or something like that. Add in a plank or two for 1 min.

Park further away when you run errands and at work. A little extra walk is good.

    Just some quick thoughts.

    Good luck :)

I go outside and walk for an hour on my lunchbreak. I see lots of other working women in their suits and sneakers doing the same.

I work as a customer service rep and sit most of the day also, but I always go for a walk on my lunch. It lets me destress and get outside. Definitely helps me!
