Yay, shiny new graph! Thanks Helen. Ironically another 2lbs have come off today, just too late for yesterday's weigh in. Never mind, it means I have hit 12st by the end of November after all and at least I know I'll have at least a 2lb loss to report next Monday! Our combined loss is now equal to my starting weight. So…

Brilliant NSV! I have two today: 1. I now have to take my wedding ring off when I swim as when my fingers are cold it is loose and I worry about it flying off into the depths of the pool. 2. I just took delivery of my new running gear (ready for C25k). I was expecting to look awful in clothes that were that clingy, but I…

I think I'm going to have a sneaky weigh in on Friday morning just to see if I can lose those 2lbs before November. So its one last push of eating healthily, drinking lots and getting plenty of exercise between now and then!

No, the poster that said that a healthy child's ribs show was correct (according to my son's paediatrician anyway). All three of my children's ribs show clearly, and they are not underweight.

For the first few weeks I had to force myself to get up and exercise. But once I got into it I realised how much better it made me feel for the rest of the day, and so now the thought of that feeling gets me out of bed. It is harder at this time of year though with the dark mornings.

Just checked the WHO centile charts. You don't say exactly how old she is (ie if she has just turned 4 or is 4.5), but at 4 years exactly 3'3" is only the 25th centile for height, ie below average. 44lbs is roughly the 95th centile for weight. So the centiles that her height and weight are on are are way out of proportion.…

I haven't read your other thread, but will look for it. I just ran those figures through the NHS BMI calculator (with her age too) and it says that she is on the 99th centile for weight for her age and is obese. Just for reference my almost 7 year old weighs 38lbs and is 3'8" tall. Your granddaughter is gorgeous, but I…

Same here. My workout trousers fall down now, which isn't such a problem when I'm cycling but as my new year's resolution is to start running it could be a bit embarrassing! Also a subscription to either Top Sante or Zest magazine. My husband is buying me an aromatherapy massage and facial, to soothe my tired muscles…

I think it easier to blame something or someone else than accept responsibility for your own weight problems. But you are absolutely right. I got fat because I ate too much of the wrong stuff and didn't do enough exercise.

My favourite lunch at the moment is: 1/2 carton New Covent Garden Plum Tomato and Basil Soup (138 calories) 2 slices Hovis wholemeal bread and 1 slice Low Low Cheddar made into a toastie (244 calories) Total calories - 382. I usually have an apple or a bag of dried plums for "pudding" which adds another 60 or so calories.…

Thanks for your replies! I had a look at the NHS C25k, but the Zest one seems to be a bit less intense than even that. I really want to take it steady with my knees. Really glad to hear that low impact stuff will be OK on rest days. And I'll have a look at that article, thanks Brian.

Well done! But remember to log on the weekly weigh in threads as otherwise Helen won't know and can't keep the graphs up to date.

I don't like Options, I find it too artificial tasting. I've been drinking the Cadbury's Highlights one which is slightly better, but still isn't as good as the Aztec hot chocolate and a chocolate brownie at my favourite cafe :frown:

Yay! You know how I love a good graph.

I live with my husband and three children. My husband has a very physically active job and my 10 year old son is very sporty (and obviously all three children are growing) so their calorific needs are very different to mine. I either eat a smaller portion of what they are having or cook something different for myself. It…
