  • If you have an iPhone and use the MFP app, try to look at your WEEKLY caloric intake instead of your daily since we are mostly aiming for weekly caloric reduction of 3500 kcal to lose 1 lb a week. (Or 7000 kcal a week for loss of 2 lbs, etc) Also, don't worry about the "lost" calories if you didn't feel any significant…
  • Most of us live in apartments in my country unless you're a millionaire. So no yards, and no space to chase kids around! *giggles*
  • Thank you for the input. :) I think some daily movement is probably going to work better than 3x a week exercising huh? I'm a stay-home mom of 3 kids, so when they don't need me to do something for them, I remain pretty sedentary (hiding in my room away from the craziness lol). I find it difficult to have a long enough…
  • I'm thinking of alternating short workout videos from Jillian Michaels and cycling/running. Her workout videos tend me leave me quite sore especially in the joints, so I usually try not to do them everyday. I suspect my form is not the best when following her workouts, but without someone to spot me or a mirror in front of…
  • Thanks for replying :D I was hoping I got it right. Still can't keep up with the video on this because I'm trying to watch my form/posture and not end up taxing my curved spine!
  • Level 1 - Day 3 Just completed my level 1 for today. Taking it better than I expected - I suppose that's my endurance kicking in. By the last round of cardio, I was literally kicking myself in the *kitten* unlike the first 2 rounds where I was keeping it to Anita's level and not really butt-kicking. Still having some…
  • Day 2 of 30DS - Level 1 Could not control my legs during the bicycle crunches!! Jillian didn't give a simplified version of bicycle crunches, did she? My legs just pretty much froze and could not be moved towards my head. I ended up just doing the crunches without the bicycle part.
  • It's supposed to be 10 days of each level - no rest day at all! I'm guessing that's how it's supposed to shred us up. :)
  • Hi! Thanks for the add. I am wondering if the 30DS system would still work well if I have to skip doing them on weekends? I have all my 3 kids home on weekends (no school for my 2 older kids) and I don't fancy working out after their 10pm bedtime because it screws up my sleep cycle... Any thoughts? P.S. I live in a small…
  • That's really sad to hear. I hope he's much better now. I'm definitely not force-feeding myself, I'm usually not hungry but not full either. (Am doing the many small meals a day thing.) I know how most people tend to feel slightly hungry after a workout, but that hasn't been happening to me. It takes about an hour or two…
  • I've got the 30 day shred video from Jillian Michaels and I'm assuming this thread is referring to that? I want to join in too, except I'm still hurting from the ZWOW #3 I did on Friday... But count me in please! I will start on Tuesday if that's ok with you ladies. :)
  • I'm pretty sure something is screwed over in my body because (a) that's what my personal trainers all say, (b) my BMR is a pathetic 1220 instead of a 1500ish for a 30 year old 77kg 1.68m woman. But no, you won't catch me eating spoonfuls of peanut butter because I'd much rather drink my calories in whole milk Starbucks.…
  • TWO YEARS?! That's an awfully long time to wait. But I guess that's what happens when you rely on the government for anything...
  • I think what I wrote was slightly misunderstood. I didn't mean the news article being a hoax, I mean the "fitness expert" i read saying skin will shrink back being a hoax. I hope no one was unintentionally enraged by that misunderstanding. Personally I'm a mom who has gone through 3 c-sections, and I've not been able to…
  • Thanks for this thread (so I didn't have to start a new one). I've been under my recommended daily intake of 1390 for the past few days, but it's mostly so because I don't feel hungry at all. I did try to drink some calories to up it (whole milk Starbucks woohoo!) so I can get out of this vicious cycle of being in…
  • I've done some reading on "excess skin" issues before, and it's been said our body is fully capable of "shrinking" back the excess skin as we slowly lose weight. Judging by the linked article, I'm guessing part of that is a hoax. Especially if your body weight went up to some obscene numbers prior to losing.
  • How are people such *kitten*?! This is fitness forum, not a pick up joint. I mean, if you meet someone - GREAT! - but otherwise that isn't really our purpose of being here?
  • Thank you for the insight and the math of this calorie counting business. :flowerforyou: I do understand that with change in diet (especially reduced calories), I should expect some tiredness or sluggishness as my body feels it's not receiving "enough" food to go through the day. But actually falling asleep on the job is…
  • That's another strange thing as well. This same meal of 100 cals usually give me good sustenance as lunch, even though I never used to have a habit of eating breakfast. Now it does nothing for me at all. I gained about 30 mins of semi-awakeness after it, and that was all. I had to "call in" sick today and go right to bed.…
  • I'm from Singapore. We have the same timezone, though we're nowhere near to each other. LOL. I guess I might need to go visit my doctor for some advice on this as well. I just had my lunch (macaroni soup - 100 cal) and it's not helping either. I'm still as sleepy as ever. I'm just starting to wonder if it is related to…
  • You have a good plan there. Maybe I should approach this slowly and start at 2000 cal/day for a week first. I drink lots of water (though I realise I forget to log it into my food diary). I have a dedicated 1.5 litre bottle of water that I finish everyday, and then some more. :) It is not just the tiredness, but a literal…
  • Thank you all for the input!! I guess I might have to start popping some B12, iron supplements and see how that goes. I can't "stick to it" for a few more weeks and "see how it goes" as my husband travels often for work and I'm the sole caregiver to my 2 children - aged 3 and 1. Being tired and sleepy like that doesn't…
  • Truth be told I've kinda busted my targeted 1500 cals. Because I constantly felt hungry since Saturday, so I ate upon hunger (try to make good food choices of course) and it went up to 2300 for the day but I felt great. It was only when I decided to stick it out on Sunday that I started feeling like this. My Stats: 71.5kg…
  • This is like a LIGHTBULB just lit up over my head!! A big thank you to the thread starter! :flowerforyou: Apparently it seems I've been doing intermittent fasting for years now. I eat when I'm hungry, and I don't eat when I'm not. 4 out of 7 days a week I actually only get max 800 calories through the day (mostly through…
  • I've tried several brands of birth control pills until I found the one I stuck with – Mercilon. What I've noticed is that almost all birth control pills will creating some temporal weight gain/bloating in the first 4-8 weeks (varies individually) and this was confirmed by my doctor. But once the hormones settle in nicely…
  • I've wanted a flat stomach my whole life, but unfortunately it is also the same area where I pile on the fat. I don't store much on my hips and behind, just predominantly on the stomach. So whenever I put on some weight, everyone starts thinking I'm pregnant! What I've been told all these years (by personal trainers,…
