It may sound counter-intuitive, but when I'm feeling the darkness, I get outside and play! It's brighter out there than it looks. Plus, I don't allow the rain blues until February, at the very earliest.

I love your quote in your profile, "I'm too good looking to be this fat." Good for YOU! I wish you every success.
-
 So, do HR, ERA and RBI have different meanings here, too?
-
AmyP, Great job tonight. I'm proud of you for your restaurant choices - that's very hard to do. When I make a healthier choice, at first, I feel sorry for myself, that I can't have the calorie laden food like other people can have. But later, I feel very proud that I was able to navigate through the challenge. For example,…

Angl, Isn't that the truth? My adult kids' homes are now cleaner than mine! I have to take my shoes off at the door when I visit, and they quickly slip in a coaster under my drink on their kitchen table . After all of that grief, who would have thought that they'd turn out so great? Susan

Barbie, I also have read that, at any given time in your life, it is best to surround yourself with like minded friends, pursuing the same goals at that particular time in life. That's what I love about this website. It supports all goals, from 10 pounds to 300+ pounds. We understand the challenges of weight loss, and we…

Becky, this is my four kids' favorite cookie. It isn't low fat or low sugar, but it does contain peanut butter and rice krispies. Does that help? It's still the favorite of my now old kids, and it's very easy! Let me know how you/they like it. The cookies are very durable, so they transport well, too (camping,…

B, Back! People are still weighing in for the week (Tuesday), so please add your data. You know the drill. The end date of this six week challenge is December 8th. Again, welcome back. From your profile photos, you are a beautiful girl. Congrats on your 13# weight loss away from MFP! Susan

Verda!!!! I have both of those, too! Jinx. Susan

Okay, you saw Kelly measuring. Now, here's Emmie, walking. Look at those great thighs, and she's even blonde: BTW, my granddaughter's name is Emmie and I    her! She's the one on the beach in my signature, below. Susan

Oh, I know this drill all too well. I have FOUR daughters. On the last one (who is now in her second year at college - away from home, I might add), I learned to just close the door of her bedroom, since I couldn't bear to see the mess. Now, when she comes home to visit, the room is demolished in one weekend! But she is a…

I liked putting it back on. You look great!
-
Something else is going on. Definitely.

I've been trying to make it smaller, but I'm at a loss in photobucket!!! I'll put the HUGE one back on. The storm woke us up at about 1:00 am, and I had a little trouble getting back to sleep. It felt like the house was going to blow away. Today, the sun has been poking out between the periods of rainfall and wind. I'm not…

Here's Kelly: Sorry about the hugeness. I'm not sure how to resize on photobucket! Susan
-
Sandy, you're too cute! I've had that same pound hang around my house in the past, too. Amy P, great idea to get back to basics. I'm pulling for you. Colie, weight loss AND a paycheck! Cha Ching. That's good stuff. Susan

Hi Tiff, I totally agree with you that success is addictive. The last time I looked at the scale, I cried - in a good way. It is so rewarding to experience success! Best of luck to you on yet another 30 hour shift. Tamm, every time I come upon a mail carrier emoticon, I think of you! Here's my latest: That's the guy trying…

P.S. I'm hypothyroid, too. Susan

Boy, I agree. The thermometer said 50+ today, but I couldn't get warm until 3pm. Must have been the wind. I walk with my daughter and her 9-month old baby girl daily. Our baby girl rides in a backpack. I have made a two-headed poncho for them to wear! We usually get a few amused looks from other walkers every morning, but…

I have that same recipe and I love it. Miracle Whip is a better choice, but I have been able to cut back my regular mayo to canola mayo (Best Foods/Hellmann's = half the calories, and more than half the fat of regular), since I'm not a Miracle Whip fan. Maggie, who would have thought? Add weight to sit up? I wish you every…

I totally agree with accountant. Not all calories are created equal, and there's other stuff that comes into play, so her advice is right on. Taking your measurements is a necessity. Also, 1 pound a week is great! 52 pounds per year, is  104 pounds  in two! Two years fly by in my life. Best of luck to you.

Two years ago. We hosted a French exchange student, and it made me interested in the language. Although, once he got here, he was supposed to speak only English. Oh well. When was the last time you.........watched a VHS movie?

A good author on the subject of control and verbal abuse is Patricia Evans. Google her.

Alison, fiance  ? Tell us more. Do you have a wedding date set? Congratulations! I don't have a day off anymore, because I can't handle it. I guess I have to keep to a 12-Step Food Anonymous mentality! I also love Tuesday weigh ins, because my weekend used to be a free-for-all. I allow myself treats within…

I was going to recommend my Coconut Macaroon recipe, but i calculated the calories, and they totaled 85 calories per little cookie. :noway: I think we can do better than that.

I make this for dinner, but it ends up getting eaten as an appetizer: Roasted Broccoli 500 degrees, 12 minutes, turn once 1 pound broccoli 2 T olive oil salt pepper Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Wash & drain broccoli. Pat dry. Cut into florets. In a large bowl, toss the broccoli with the oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange…

I call them the same thing!

Hi Leslie (pirategirl). Welcome!:flowerforyou: Kelly might have told you this already, but here's how our Tuesday weigh ins work. Early Tuesday morning, someone will start a new thread for the upcoming week. It will be referenced in this thread on the last post, or you can search for it. The next one will be called: Sixers…
