  • We had a very snowy winter last year. We had a fun adventure, slipping and sliding into the Nutcracker ballet (couldn't wa$te those ticket$). Now it is in the brrrrr 30s at night, but no snow yet. The mountain (45 min from me) usually tries to open for skiing by Thanksgiving. They've been open for weeks now. We caught a…
  • Anyone here in the Red Hat Society? If so, what do you think of it?
  • They are definitely make a stop in Oregon, then on to Illinois....
  • Wow! I'm definitely going now. Thanks!
  • Kel, can I come to YOUR house for Thanksgiving? I  lobster ! One year, my sister grilled steaks for her family for Thanksgiving. I say, if it works for you, go for it! It's also my SIL's 30th bday on 11/26. We are going to celebrate the following Saturday, though. Susan
  • Hi Emmie, Pumpkin Squares sound good. Are they made with cream cheese? DH and I love cauliflower, but I'm not sure about everyone else (unless it's saturated with cheese sauce). They will eat roasted broccoli, however. Easy and yummy. My four daughters are all very thin, so they want their favorites at Thanksgiving. So,…
  • Sorry for barging in, but try this website to find your best fit at a reasonable price: http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/product/shoe-dog.jsp?cm_sp=shoe_dog-_-search_pages-_-top_left_banner It worked great for me, and it's worth the investment to get a good pair that fit well. You can always use the site to find the…
  • Definitely, the cell phones! And the people that chat with the person on a neighboring machine. In both instances, they are forced to talk very loudly to be heard over the din of the machines and the music that is playing. I agree with the extreme B.O. and the perfume, too. Both are big distractions.
  • Happy Birthday, PDX! I'm from the PDX area myself, and I just celebrated my birthday on November 4th. It was very unlike me to order soup and salad for my birthday dinner at Jake's Grill - but afterward, I was so happy with myself for my good decisions. We had a great time, and they even personalized my menu. I also worked…
  • Karen, We're at the exact same start/end weight range. Except, I bought a new scale a few weeks ago, and my original starting weight of 167 was 1.8 pounds low, which was no surprise. Thus the 168.8 adjustment. For now, I would like to get to 130, but I may reevaluate at 140. Are you ever able to lose 2 pounds per week? If…
  • I'm hearing great things about Zumba, so I'm excited to try it this week at my gym. How many calories do you figure you burned? It isn't in the exercise database yet.
  • Tamm, how did your job and house searches go this week? Glad to hear of your great workouts. My Thanksgiving plan is to: reduce some carbs (do we really need mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing/stuffing AND dinner rolls?), eliminate a few pie crusts (make pumpkin custard-but I really really need a small piece of…
  • Emmie, great job. The first step is the most difficult.
  • I introduced myself a month ago, and I'm glad to be back on this great thread. MacMadame :flowerforyou: It's always great to learn from a pro. I'd love to see a before photo. Amazing work! Laurel :flowerforyou: Have a wonderful time at the wedding tomorrow. I hope all goes well. Jam :flowerforyou: I need to fire up my…

There is a 50+ support group in the motivation and support section, and lots of ongoing weight loss challenges you can join. In these mini groups, we set challenges, support each other, and make friends along the way. Some are…
  • Nicole & Lauryn, you're welcome for the standings! It is fun to put together, and I love seeing everybody's progress. It really feels like a group effort, which inspires me to keep trying. Jennifer, I hope you feel better soon. My hubby's secretary was out for a week with H1N1, but thank goodness, she didn't infect anyone…
  • practicing on how to insert a chart, sorry.

  • Tiff, first off, hats off to you for reaching 143! That is a number I'm looking forward to seeing again on my scale. Congrats! Secondy, I'm sorry about the break up. You definitely have a lot on your plate to keep you distracted, which is always nice. Hopefully, a future relationship will be an even better match for you…
  • Alison, thanks for the birthday greetings! Man, you should have seen the decadent bakery cake last night (thank goodness I had requested salad for dinner). It was all delicious. But, the party's officially over today - and it's back to reality. So, now just how many days are there until Tuesday's weigh in? ........ Sorry…
  • Cathy, Thinking of you. Susan
  • Kel, thanks for the sweet birthday wishes. I had a great birthday. I'm very happy with being 51. It's a really nice time of my life, where a lot of the bad stuff has either been discarded, or sorted out. Congratulations on the five days of completed shred! Did you see your shred image on a previous page? Your work is…
  • Tamm, Thanks for the birthday wish! I hope your mail problems get sorted out. I didn't know that the post man could do that without a notice that you no longer live there. I'm amazed that he/she could make that decision on their own, with letting you know first (and opportunity to respond). Crazy!
  • No weigh in? Awesome. Thanks for the birthday wish!
  • Margaret, I agree. Apple is not my favorite pie flavor. Now, a blackberry pie is a different story. However, my huge weakness is salty, crunchy snacks. I can't have any within a mile of my house. Is your son back at school after his illness?
  • Tasha, how is your new place?
  • What a beautiful place to have a wedding. Your photos must be amazing. Dog Mountain is on the Washington side, and it is a popular hike, straight up (3.5 miles one way for a gain of 2820' is pretty steep). At the top, the views are amazing. I prefer a more wooded hike, though, with a waterfall destination, and there are…
