I weighed in, but I don't want to talk about it. It's my birthday week.

Maggie, check the mail today for the royalty check from that country song your wrote. $$$$. Hope your world is feeling a little lighter. Tiff, with your schedule, thank goodness you're not getting sick! I'm glad you have the focus to care for yourself, too.

Lauryn, dance this weekend.
-
Cathy, I hope you burned up that exam! Tamm, welcome home, and enjoy your time off.

Amy, I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose a friend so young, and with so much potential. It is wonderful that you are able to make it to the service. My prayers are with you, your friend, and her family. Take care, and may your memories of her warm your heart. Susan

So true! Everyone's needs are so different. My TSH wasn't that high, but my thyroid must be pretty stubborn. Feeling great now, though.

Just look, though. It goes in big and comes out really small! Susan

Lawyer stuff, Yuck. I hope it's a very very big hole. You can make it two more days. Then have fun this weekend! Susan

I love it! Send it to Carrie Underwood! Seriously, I'm sorry that your life has been crap for you lately, but you've got a great perspective on it. Your sense of humor is teaching me how to cope, too. Thank you! Susan

Good luck, Cathy! I'm praying for you. Here's to some positive test results  : (Gosh, they make those photos large. Any advice on how to resize from photobucket?) Susan

Congratulations to everyone for making it through a very challenging Halloween week. Special kudos to all those that weighed in after a gain. That's always a very hard weigh in (we've all been there), but it is a way to acknowledge our humanness, and to move on to a new day. Thank goodness that we can start over every…

Tamm, What a wonderful spa experience! I'm so jealous, but really glad you pampered yourself. Good for you. See you at weigh in next week. Hope the conference went well, too. Susan

Welcome. I'm in the pdx area, too! Lower case on the img.........................../img ? Susan

Sounds like you have a great doctor, since he's willing to treat a 3.8 (if you chose to be treated). Again, I'm glad you found this information out in your twenties, now you can keep an eye on your symptoms (check the web for the full list of possible symptoms), and get treatment when things worsen. Best of luck to…

Wish me luck: it's my birthday tomorrow and I have 4 eating events planned this week. Yikes. :noway: My goal next week: no loss, no gain.

Melanie, congratulations on breaking 300! :flowerforyou: Way to go! Copy your line and paste to upper group. Your SW is from the very beginning of challenge, GW is what you want to weight at end of challenge (6wks), and CW is what you weigh in at (today). Progress is what you lost since beginning this challenge. (Thanks…

I started at 25 mcg of levoxythrine (sp?) because my old doctor :grumble: was afraid to treat my TSH of 5.05 (a measly number compared to yours  ). After 7 months, I'm now up to 150 mcg (with my new doc) plus 30 mcg time-released T3, which has helped immensely. I see the caution in not increasing your dosage…

Holy cow! :noway: Your TSH=11.7! :noway: No wonder your symptoms are Crazy. :explode: My doc wants mine to be a 1 (I'm at a 2.0 now and feel great). New advice from Natl Assoc Endocrinologists say .3 - 3.0 as of 2003. Doc figures 1.5 is what normal people are. We hypos should be a little lower. Get those meds going, girl!…

It was so warm on Halloween, my granddaughter didn't even wear a coat to trick or treat. I think that was a first, and I've lived in Oregon all my life (Stayton, then PDX area). Usually, the trick is how to fit the coat over the costume. :ohwell: I hiked Dog Mountain several years ago, and couldn't walk for 3 days. But…

Yes, with a hypo you gain weight since your metabolism is so slow. You really weren't just making metabolism excuses! After proper treatment, the weight doesn't magically melt off, but diet and exercise begin to be effective once again. Also, the moodiness disappears, you have more resolve, and more energy to get it done.…

Forgot to say, Lauryn, your photo is beautiful, and so is your daughter. What was your estranged guy thinking, treating you so poorly? He could do better? No way. You are amazing.

Kel, Aren't new shoes fun? I just got some, too. Best of luck with the new workout plans. You're off to a great start! :flowerforyou: Susan

I'm doing okay with my weight. I ate all of my Halloween candy several weeks ago, so I did good over the weekend. :embarassed: I walk daily with my daughter and her 8 month old baby (carried in the backpack). It's great girl time for us, and we also get a pretty good workout. The best part is that it is consistent. If our…

I'm sorry to hear of your mother's passing. There is no time of year that I feel my late mom's presence more than at Thanksgiving. I cherish the things that she taught me by her example. To balance those Thanksgiving traditions, and your weight loss, my suggestions would be to:  lighten up those traditional dishes…

It's a little confusing, but high TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels means you have a slow thyroid. It's really not a measure of hormone produced from your thyroid. Rather, it's the hypothalamus gland, then the pituitary gland sending huge signals to the thyroid to step it up! But the thyroid's not getting the…

Hi Alison - Can you take the candy to work with you? When I worked, I put it in the lunch room - (not on my desk). Now, I send it to work with hubby. It sure is nice to get it out of the house. BTW, how is your new pt job going? Susan

Tammara, A dentist in our old neighborhood also passed out toothbrushes, and the Avon lady passed out skin lotion samples! Not a hit with the kids, but moms liked it. Susan

Jennifer, I can understand. One of my bridesmaids was newly pregnant and passed out during the photos (before the ceremony, thank goodness). The pictures show her dazed, and as white as a ghost, right before the fall! For my 2 daughters weddings, I brought food to the dressing rooms to prevent anyone's collapse. The second…

Hi Jennifer, welcome to this challenge. :flowerforyou:  Congratulations, newlywed! How was your wedding? Did you honeymoon? Where? Susan
