I’m not actually logging any exercise calories? Should I? I have no idea what my TDEE is either? 🤦🏻♀️
-
Yes that’s correct 👍🏼

I usually have a day off between each workout. Typical days to work out are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. So not rest day between Friday and Saturday but there is between the others

It’s actually good to hear that it’s not just me that’s been through it! It’s a scary thing. I look back at the pictures now and cannot believe how thin and unhealthy I looked, but at the time I was posting the pics on here asking people how to lose stomach fat! The mind of a scary thing at times. I am adamant I do not…

Thank you so much for this. I completely agree with everything you said, again another person who seems to know what they are talking about. I, as you can probably tell, am pretty clueless so to actually get some true knowledge and insight into how your body works is super helpful! The weekly pictures I’ve been taking most…

So basically, I do roughly the same workout each time.... Squats with 15kg barbell x20 Goblet squats 10kg dumbbell x20 Backwards lunge 15kg barbell x20 In and out jump squats (no weight) x 20 Squat pulses with resistance band x30 Leg raises (on all fours) with resistance band x20 Kettlebell swings 10kg dumbbell x20 Oblique…

No they aren’t, they don’t appear muscly at all to me, still quite soft 🤦🏻♀️ I am only squatting 15kg, is this too much? I’ve have done weight training in the past but I’ve officially been back on it since 1st Jan. I know I can drop the weight, I dropped from 126lbs to 112lbs in 2014. However, I looked too skinny and I…

Can I just thank everyone (again), for giving me great advice! You’ve certainly lifted my mood today, I was so down about it this morning. I do see change in my pictures and inches have been lost so I need to remind myself that I am heading in the right direction. It’s so easy to not see results initially and give up. I…

I am really struggling mentally with the number on the scales. I am 100% in a deficit, I weigh EVERYTHING. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks being on this strict diet and the scales haven’t budged at all. I dropped 1lb yesterday but today it’s gone back on 😩 I am devastated. Will the scales ever drop? Or am I doing something wrong?…

Thank you for your input. I am really struggling mentally with the number on the scales. I am 100% in a deficit, I weigh EVERYTHING. Oh Christ! I could most certainly walk for 45 minutes a day with no problems whatsoever. I’m talking about running, spinning etc. I love walking!
-
This is very helpful, thank you. I had no idea that you can actually burn more calories from being in a deficit and getting enough sleep! Wow! So as long as I’m active, which I am. Doing my normal workouts which include a little bit of cardio and eating at a deficit then I should be fine 🤞🏼 The thought of having to do 45…

Your posts make me laugh!! 😂 Ok so as long as I am in a deficit and exercising like I do, 4-5 times a week then hopefully the progress will continue!
-
I have no idea but 45 minutes sounds like ALOT!! I don’t think I would last that long. I’m not a natural running so I don’t particularly enjoy running and due to lock down I have no access to a gym as they are shut, so it’s not like I have any machines at home to use. So if I remain in a calorie deficit and carry on with…

Wow! I never actually thought of it like this, that it is like a form of advertising. That completely makes sense. It’s scary that you can be made to feel that only eating certain foods will make you lose weight, whereas, after speaking to all of you on here, that clearly isn’t the case. I want to eat to feel good and…

AnnPT77 - This has been extremely helpful to wake up and read this morning. It seems that these personal trainers give you the impression that to lose weight you must only eat the things they are telling you to. If you go “off plan” then you won’t get the results. I have taken everything you have said on board. Seeing…

I totally get your point and I completely agree. My friend have recently signed up to an online personal trainer and I have seen the meal plan. It’s basically chicken, salmon, tuna, greek yoghurt and veg. There isn’t much more to it so I think that’s another reason why I have been worried about eating anything that doesn’t…

I like your humour! 🤣 I think you’re right, where does it start and stop. Why will I have whey protein but not cheese? Now you’ve said it like that it sounds ludicrous! I don’t want to restrict myself completely. Of course I want to consume healthy foods, but that should be for no other reason than the fact I enjoy them…
-
Funny you say that. One of the plans I have recently seen is from a body builder who is training for a competition and has what looks like zero body fat (madness!!) Ok so, I’m going to take your advice. I need to remain in a calorie deficit but also not deprive myself of foods that are not deemed to some as “clean”. I have…
-
Sijomial - I don’t actually know why to be honest. I think because when I see these diet plans from a lot of personal trainers etc, there isn’t a slice of cheese in site. If there is then it’s protein cheese (which I recently found out was a thing!). I guess I’m scared to eat anything other than non processed foods. The…

That’s very helpful wunderkindking, thank you so much! I want to be realistic about it all. I want to exercise, eat well but also not deprive myself of some of the foods I like. It’s ridiculous that I am even classing ryvita and soft cheese as ‘bad’, but it’s hard when living in a world full of salmon and asparagus posts!!…

Aww ok, so I thought a clean diet meant only eating whole foods, nothing processed? I am worried that if I don’t eat only whole foods...vegetables, fruit, fish, meat etc then I won’t get the results that I am looking for. I eat all of the above daily, but sometimes I don’t feel like chicken/ fish and veg/salad for lunch so…

That’s great thank you all so much! It’s so good to get what I would say is an expert opinion. You all sound like experts! I will of course stick with it, I had no intention of quitting as I feel great and I will celebrate the change regardless of whether the number on the scales moves. Just one other thing, I’m not sure…
-
I want to lose a stone in total. Maybe that’s not realistic but we will see

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply and pass on your advice, it’s greatly appreciated. I have taken all your comments on board and appreciate that patience is key. It’s easy to feel deflated when the numbers on the scales aren’t budging, but what’s important is I feel great. I feel fitter, healthier and…

That’s very helpful thank you. Also, can I drink too much water? I am trying to drink 2 litres a day, should I reduce this? Patience is key, I know this, it’s just hard as the scales can become obsessive but actually, I feel I look better, which is why the weight not dropping is becoming frustrating x
-
Thanks for all of your responses. I think you are right and patience is key and it’s going to come off a lot slower than I was hoping. At the weekends I am less strict but still try to remain at a deficit on sundays, but saturdays I probably consume around 1500 cals but surely this wouldn’t wipe out my deficit for the…

Thank you everyone for your feedback! I appreciate the time everyone takes to reply and give advice. I have been logging for about 4 weeks now, but yes I have missed days where I haven't logged and also I am going by the calories on the packets. Also, I'm not clean eating, would this make a difference? I more concerned…

That's awesome! Thank you, I'll look into that

Thank you! Think I'll look up some work outs to do! I'm a mum of 2 so need to find work outs to do from home!
