I love my American Eagle jeans :) I love the skinny fit.

That is awesome! Congratulations :)

Congratulations on that amazing accomplishment! Nursing school is tough...my sister-in-law is a nurse and she too put on weight during school. She swears it was wearing scrubs every day that it wasn't until she put on a pair of jeans that she realized that she had put on more weight than she had thought she had. Depending…

This is a veggie and lentil recipe...hope it helps! Meatless Moussaka - slow cooker recipe Mix 2 cans of lentils (drained/rinsed) with 3 cups of pasta sauce and 1 tsp of cinnamon. 1-2 eggplants cut up into slices Layer 1 cup of lentil mixture with a layer of sliced eggplants into the slow cooker. Alternate layers of lentil…

Make them, they're amazing and they're an energy bite to provide energy, not necessarily a protein bite. Your staff-mates will thank you! My boyfriend wants me to make them all the time because they're great for that late morning or early afternoon snack to get him through to the end of the day. Mine are around 100…

awesome job! really great recount of how you did it too! Proof that it can be sustainable and it doesn't happen overnight, it's the small changes that lead to bigger changes. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!

I'm eating out today with a friend - for sushi so tonight I'll have a tuna sashimi, edamame beans and miso soup  Then I'm meeting with some old classmates for coffee so I'll have a nonfat latte, all for 521 calories! Can't wait

I make something similar to this (its the Jamie Eason's Ground Turkey/Chicken Meat Muffins and they're absolutely delicious! They will be a go to for me to make every weekend going forward. I have 1 as a snack and 2 as a meal, perfect!

True, I'd only be able to see a Registered Dietitian as part of my extended health. Has anyone been to one before? I'm 15 lbs from goal weight.
-
bump...curious too. My extended health covers nutritionists as well but I'm not sure if they'll tell me anything I don't already know...

absolutely incredible journey! Thank you for sharing it with us and being so detailed in your individual stages of weight loss. You're an absolute inspiration, keep it up! I'd love to see how you progress so please update us!

"snacking after work, before dinner" - I'm a grazer by nature so I try to stick with 3 meals and 2-3 snacks throughout the day so that I feel like I'm grazing but I'm being conscious of what I eat and make sure I pre-log my food to check my macros. Everything in moderation is very true. I too make sure I have some room for…

I agree with beanrider, start with small changes and goals. Drink more water (aim for 8-10 cups/day), reduce eating processed foods, eat 2 servings of fruit and 2 servings of vegetables per day. Weigh in 1x week and always input any weight changes into MFP (that way you see the gains and losses in your weight loss journey,…

Great job! Yes, the weekends can be a bit more challenging since you're not in your routine. I try to pre-log my weekends just to try and make sure I'm within a calorie range. What's been key to your recent weight loss do you think?

This. Try freezing your banana for your shake. It tastes like a milkshake, no joke and I have this for breakfast every day!
-
bump...I'd like to know any suggestions on this too! I find the plain yogurt pretty sour too so I always have to mix something into it as well. I was going to recommend Stevia (they come in yummy flavours like mint and raspberry chocolate) because I'd like to try it but I saw that you didn't want to add anything to the…

Not dumb at all! Its tough to recognize the signs of actual hunger vs. eating out of boredom or because the food is just in front of you. Good for you for recognizing it and giving it a try. Keep with it!~

I have a few squares of Lindt Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt. Sweet and salty - how can you go wrong? Plus totally satisfying. I have 50-100 calories worth for dessert every night.

I was always curious about the taste of it as well so I tried a shake at a girlfriends house that I was staying at. Had it with almond milk, some PB2 and a banana. Personally, I prefer the taste and texture of the protein shake that I get from Costco (Kaizen Whey Isolate in Decadent Chocolate or Vanilla) and at just over…

My favourite protein shake recipe is super simple: 1 frozen banana 1 cup almond milk 1 scoop of protein powder (chocolate or vanilla) 1 Tbsp of natural peanut butter Blend. 365 calories, 13g fat, 37g carbs, 31g protein, 7g fibre, 23g sugars

I too would like a tried and tested recipe for protein pancakes, there's so many out there!

Welcome to MFP! and congratulations on deciding to make a change with small changes, like riding your bike and curbing your nighttime snacking. It's these small changes that will yield big results in the long run. There's a lot of information here on MFP, I'd recommend reading up on the forums (there's some that are at the…

probably a mix of caffeine and sugar withdrawal. My brother also used to drink an extreme amount of Pepsi and when he got off pepsi, he switched to energy drinks. I'm pretty sure between his coffee and his energy drinks he's flying pretty high so if he was to stop cold turkey, he'd be feeling pretty tired and lethargic…

What Jason said....I usually only eat 1/2 my calories back because I'm not sure if the calories burned is accurate so I like to play it a bit safe but in general, yes Jason is 100% right!

Another tip: take pictures and measurements once a month. Sometimes that's a big motivator rather than just relying on the scale, especially if you're lifting or doing a lot of cardio as your body composition can change. Good luck to you and congrats on losing that first lbs!!

I have a heart rate monitor and watch to estimate my calories burned but your calories burned definitely depends on how hard you work in each segment. In 2 different 40 min. workouts, I could burn up to 100 calories different because of the type of exercises performed. I think that's why MFP hasn't added these programs…
-
You could change it to lightly active. Best way to check is to eat at your recommended calories and see if you lose what MFP has been set for you to lose (1 lbs/wk, 2 lbs/wk, whichever setting you chose). If you maintain or gain, then you should change from active to lightly active. If you lose the weight that you…

I completely know what you mean. Whether I've been at my highest (160 lbs) or at my lowest (130 lbs) I still didn't feel comfortable with how I looked in the mirror. Sure I was slimmer but my body wasn't in the right composition for me to fully feel comfortable rocking a bathing suit. This time when I'm losing weight…

I'm up about 2 lbs ...and I'm drinking at least 2 L of water a day to try and help with the water retention. Can't wait until it drops off!
