the crystal deoderant is pretty good. granted, i haven't used it in the dead of summer, but i've been satisfied with it til now.

outstanding! you are doing such a GREAT job! happy for you! :D

had a point where i commented that i was close to my goal, but still had some fat to lose. they flipped out... "you don't have any fat!!! you are crazy!" so i squatted down, grabbed my belly and shook it for them..."THIS is fat!" they left me alone after they got off the floor and could breathe again. ^_^

my two year old wolfs down her food, so her auntie and i give her two half portions at each meal. by the time we hit the secont part, she is satisfied enough to leave some food in her bowl. two meals has been working so far...she rarely gets snacks...usually based on behavior.

it's something i've thought about doing...i'm still too self-conscious about my flabby spots. i also suffer from weak ankles and wrists. :( more power to ya, though! it always impresses me to see that kind of lean power.

if it is flavor that bothers you, i would strongly recommend taking a cooking class at your local community center (if one is offered) or start experimenting with herbs and spices. food doesn't have to be bland and icky. if it is texture, try different cuts of meat, or a new vegetable each week. play around with HOW you…

um...i eat 35g or less a day...have been for about a year and a half. HOW is that unhealthy or unsustainable? smh... :noway: and to answer the OP: i get a lot of recipes from 247lowcarbdiner.com. she is a kitchen WIZARD!!! PaleOMG and Civilized Caveman are also worth checking out. good luck with your changes!

i grew up with my mom subbing ricotta with cottage cheese in lasagna and other Italian recipes (didn't even know what ricotta was until i was all grown up!) tastes pretty good with a lot of fruits and veggies. like, avacados, peaches, strawberries, celery, tomatoes, pears...go nuts with it! you can toss it in casseroles…

thanks for sharing. :)

71 lbs is hardly failure. we all slip up every now and again. life happens. don't sweat it. just start over tomorrow with healthier choices. you've come a long way. don't give up now! you are so close! :)

for a "creamy" texture, i would suggest blended silken tofu, mashed avacado, or something like tahini or peanut butter. that aside, i noticed you don't do milk substitutes. does that include hemp, rice, almond, soy, or coconut milk? all of those have vegan friendly brands...is it by choice or just flavor preference?

baked liver and onions with swiss cheese on veggie "flatbread."

well, with just this month alone, i'm seeing a bit of a yo-yo. that isn't bad, per se. i would agree that you'll want to try to log every day, to have a more consistent record. i also noticed more days that you were WAY under your suggested defecit than over. please try to eat more, at least something like a salad or piece…

On my Dad's side, Bethad "Macbeth" Mac Findláich...through a distant branching of the Scottish clans. Apparently, not enought to claim anything but association. :)

27...i may not comment on every single post you make, but i will make a point to check up on you and try to be an encouragement if you are struggling or ask for help.

i know you said that you've tried to address the issue unsuccessfully with your mother...maybe try convincing her through example? like, if you make up a batch of smoothies to share together or find a how-to on fruit arrangements (edible arrangement bouquets are SO pricey!) then she might start to associate the healthier…

oooh. figs! sound so good... i try to make up batches of treats to fit my current goals (use stevia or splenda to sweeten, low fat, etc.) but i love things like: cake pops cheesecake panna cotta (my new obsession!) frozen berries (blueberries and blackberries are the hardest for me to stop eating)

how about a big, leafy salad? very low cal...lots of fiber. don't focus on adding stuff to it. go with veggies...spinach, kale, collard greens, cabbage, broccoli, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, tomato...avoid sprucing it up with cheese, meat, or tons of dressing. 3 cups of plain salad goes WAY farther than a serving of…

i don't have a balcony to plan on, but i'm trying an indoor SIP system. so far, i have zucchini, one pumpkin vine, cucumbers, peas, okra, radishes, and lavender. only have sprouts for eggplant, tomato, and spinach. i'm trying to see what does and does not work inside (hand pollination) before i actually DO get some outdoor…

idk about Greek yogurt (can't find one with the carb count i want!) but i do eat White Mountain Bulgarian yogurt from Whole Foods. it's milk and culture...that's pretty much it. no additives or preservatives. it takes some getting used to (kind of tangy) but it is excellent. i make panna cotta and cheesecakes from mine.…

idk about a recipe per say...but a general suggestion for a vegan lasagna. put your tofu (silken is best) in a food processor and pulse until smooth. add in oregano and parsley and cheese substitute if you use one. slice zucchini squash or aubergine lengthwise as thin as possible (use a mandolin if you can.) make up a…

i think the allure is in the unhealthy, "forbidden" aspect. you aren't going to find many people going on and on about the benefits of how healthy bacon is. since it shouldn't be eaten in large amounts, it becomes that much more desirable. that aside, the high fat content is probably what does a lot of people in. fat makes…

well, not right now, but that's because i'm minimizing my carbs...let me get to goal, and i'm all over it. ;)

i think it depends on your health history. excess of sodium can retain water, so if you find yourself consistently high on intake, drink more water. it will help flush your system of some of that extra sodium. ^_^

God is so good! congrats on your current success! before you know it, everything else is going to fall back into place. ^_^

celery...i'll eat that with either a peanut butter and tahini blend or a yogurt and chutney blend. mmmmm...

a few other posters have suggested learning to cook. i would just like to add to that and say pick 3 - 5 things you love to eat. find recipes for those foods and learn to make them. don't go crazy and try to cook everything that pops in your head. just learn those 3 - 5. once you can make those foods on your own without…

fresh dill works really well, as does rosemary try a few fresh herb pairings...just toss it with the broccoli and wrap it in parchment paper. roast in the oven for several minutes. fanTASTic!

i still flop from time to time (loose skin and flabby areas). usually, if i'm going to jog or run, i'll wear yoga/spandex pants under my gym shorts or sweats. holds my tummy in place without the embarassing slapping noise. (bike shorts work well too)

Ahahahahaha! That is what I tell my sister when she tries to convince me to buy it. I already HAVE the Kevin Costner version. ^_^
