Absolutely agree with you! I went a bit overboard on the weight loss, got to a goal that I had set myself, but ended up looking rather gaunt, and passed out a couple of times as pushing my CICO deficit a bit too far. Im about 15lbs heavier than I was at my lowest, and look better, feel better, am stronger etc etc... so…

awesome.. you look great and should feel very very proud

you need to weigh the food... one chicken breast can be twice the size of anothers breast, and therefore double in calorie content. re the milk, you could pour say 30ml into a cup, and see how many 'splashes' you get from it.. I used to be that particular when I first started out but if you are more relaxed, call it 10ml…

walking definitely burns more calories than not walking, so will help you create a deficit. Im going for a walk this evening to burn around 200 calories.. so itll contribute towards my weight loss. making subtle changes, like walking to the shops/school instead of driving can easily add 200-300 hundred calories to your…

I found MFP and its been an absolute saviour for me. the friends ive made on mfp and the support/advice available has been incredible. I have lost 3 stone and have never been fitter, healthier and…

depends on what you are trying to achieve.. For me, I am training for a marathon, and I find having an event booked in my diary that I am committed to is great for keeping me dedicated to training. Ive a few family members travelling to the marathon, so I feel like I really need to be ready for it on the day and perform as…

I was always a very similar shape to my overweight father, all our weight goes straight to our belly, and for a years I blamed my weight on genetics and I just accepted that I was destined to be overweight. Since finding MFP I've lost 3 stone of fat, and have a completely different body shape now... So keep the faith....…

I do yes, especially compared to where I was a year ago... How about resting heart rate as a measure of fitness, i think thats supposed to be a good measure?
-
calorie count all the way.. i went low carb, and spent 3 days in bed, all the weight i lost went back on as soon i stopped anyway

Ive got a fitbit surge, wouldnt without it.. Since wearing it I park in furthest spot available in works car park, and now walk round the lake every lunch time (and sometimes before work now as well)... and ive never been one for walking the lake! I also have daily challenges with friends, and the definitley encourages me…

my trainers got me on plank pushups, crunches, bicycle situps, russian twists and supermen. all 3x15 and I really feel its worked after Ive done the workout. (im lifting as well 3-4 times a week, but that is more focused on the rest of the body, although goes without saying that the core benefits from a lot of that as well)

you are prepared to walk miles in the pouring rain (camping in middle of nowhere) to get a wifi signal so that you can keep that streak alive.
-
you can lose with no exercise... just be in deficit.. I really upped my exercise levels as I wanted to be able to eat more and still lose weight. worked a treat for me, and now I exercise loads and eat loads without putting weight on :-))
-
thought of another one that made a areal difference to me.... I made a deal with myself that if i found myself watching mind numbing braindead TV programmes, but hadnt exercised that day, I had to go and do 30 minutes of exercise before I could return to the mind numbing tv. works well for me and seems to always get me off…

weighing everything, not guessing, not lying, not omitting it, not using cups for solid foods, but weighing everything and logging it. worked a treat...

no, theres nothing to throw in, its a lifestyle change for me and im loving it. I hate my old way of eating/living.. just wish I had changed sooner
-
keep the faith.. you are in deficit.. youll get a 'whoosh' at some point, although weight loss does slow down.. cutting the mountain dew out might speed things up, but we've all got things in our diets that we dont want to cut out.. and besides you dont want to cut too far and make yourself ill... good work on the loss so…

i do when im losing, yes.. doesnt work if you dont... You tuck a few almonds away every day, plus a few other picky bits, you can quiet easily find yourself not in deficit and therefore not losing weight
-
have to admit i only stopped when i reached target.. however, now I just measure my waist once a month and pay attention to how my clothes feel. I barely look at the scales now. Could you try measuring yourself instead?
-
could you get some exercise in and earn a slightly bigger dinner? then maybe have chicken breast for protein served with fresh veggies.. washed down with a nice glass of ice cold water ;-)

looking for more active friends

I was fed up of being tired all the time, and ultimately felt that getting progressively more and more overweight was not helping. Ive got two young children and I wanted to set a good example to them, plus give myself the best chance of being around for as long as possible to meet the grandchildren (and great…
