Bahahaha! I'm so glad I read this! I could tell that you wanted to not stare... to give him the benefit of the doubt. But then- There was a friggin T-rex Gerbil at your gym! D : Who would be strong enough to look away??? And how could anyone be sure of their safety if they did?! And I agree with crabada- more leg day…

It's good to hear you healed up fast! I get sore wrists a lot, and I worry about straining sometimes. Thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like the extra rest gave you a boost. : )

Thank you guys for the tips! Yeah, I try to pretend no one is there so I don't get self-conscious hanging out in testosterone land. Hand weights weren't nearly as intimidating as the bar. The one guy I did manage to stare at was the guy hogging the squat rack. It was bad enough that he put his sweaty towel ob the bar to…

I'm new, too! Did my first Strong Lifts workout yesterday. I'm excited to finally be working with a program that is more straight forward. The only thing that didn't thrill me was the rest times... I know right now it's easy, and later I will be glad for them... But what am I supposed to do during the rest times?…

Count me in! I've been away a while and I'm excited to be back on MFP! :)

I've been shocked that I need to include more fat in my diet. Who knew?

Soo awesome! That'll show the scale!!!!

I think you can buy them in a carton. I just buy eggs and use the shell to separate the egg white from the yolk. There are egg separators in the store also.

I can't wait until I can say the same. lol

My stomach has made noises before when something didn't agree with it, from gas or bloating. The body is a strange place sometimes.

Awesome job! Way to stick to your goals. Your hard work is definitely paying off.

Try calculating your calorie goal as 20% less than you TDEE. this has helped me tremendously as eating less (1400) made me Hungry and led to binges. I sometimes eat less than my goal, but that's ok because I'm listening for my body to tell me I'm full. But if my body says "hungry" I can still eat and lose weight.

One small change at a time will make it more manageable.

I work the night shift, and my sleep times vary wildly. The only way for me to have any consistency is to log calories on the day they were consumed. 11:30PM goes on that day, 12:01AM it goes on the new day. It's still a 24-hour time frame and should balance out with one complete sleep/wake cycle.

It might help to figure out why you are losing control... then we can work out strategies to overcome the triggers. For example, I know I lose control some times when I'm really upset, or if I let myself get too hungry. So now I can better prevent myself from losing control by going for a walk instead of emotional eating…

Yup! It is a really great stick when I eat badly and it shows me being a weight that I do NOT want to be! Definitely encourages me to change my behavior!

I ate a whole half-gallon of Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in 1 week! O.o That was the week before I started MFP, when I realized I could probably use some help watching what I eat. lol

Wow! A genius tip! Thanks for sharing. :)

I think about the progress I have made so far and how it was only possible because of the changes I made (tracking food and working out). And that it really WILL get me to where I want to go if I just keep at it every day. :)

I started 30DS with 8lb weights to add intensity... To work out the legs more, Jillian says (in level 2) to hold the squat or lunge position (instead of moving up and down). I'm on level 2 now and I still feel like my legs aren't working quite as hard as my poor arms. I've also noticed that part of the challenge is working…

It's a sign of a fast metabolism? That's good, because I get hungry every 2 and a half hours like clockwork. For this reason, I plan to smaller meals to make room for several snacks throughout the day. And coffee works as an appetite suppressant. I'm also finding that vegetables other than leafy-greens fill me up much…

I have gained a really strange excessive confidence and pride in my body that was completely unexpected this early on. I even wore a BIKINI to the beach. ! When I absolutely know I probably shouldn't just yet. hahah I didn't care, though, because I'm already looking so much better than I was. I couldn't help myself, I was…

Wow! This is amazing! I have a similar journey to make (216 now, want to be 130), and to see how fast you were able to lose it (less than a year!!!) is really amazing and inspiring. It gives me hope that one year from now, maybe I will be close to goal. Thank you for posting!

I'm actually concerned about this myself.. I use the food database very often, and check things when I can, but I can't do that very often. :S I also need to get a scale because that seems to be the most accurate way to measure as "contents may settle". Is it weird if we weigh our food? I don't know anyone that does IRL...…

I'm trying to stay on the path as well, and a trip to Miami is definitely helping me. (I decided kinda last minute, so I have about a week left). I wish I had planned like you- well in advanced! lol I planned to get healthy this summer, but my second job started and I got derailed. Now I'm back and focused as well. :) 2…

I took a 2-week sugar-free, fast carb free stint. The first five days were crazy. I had all of these different cravings. And I thought I was hungry, but whenever I got out something I was allowed to eat, I had no appetite for it. That's when I realized I wasn't hungry and it was actually just a craving. I got headaches, my…

Greek yogurt was gross to me at first. Then someone introduced me to putting it on salty foods like a condiment. I think of it as replacing sour cream. And I never cared for sour cream but now I really enjoy greek yogurt (as a condiment).
