  • I agree with Darren - try bodyweight exercises. They cost nothing, and there are tons of clips on YouTube. For example, have a look at this search: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bodyweight+abs+women
  • I had a physio who was a gymnast (well, he still is), and he showed me what he can do. Wow! I was so fascinated that I have started gathering info on bodyweight exercises for beginners because I absolutely hate gyms. Am already looking forward to see the results once they set in. :) Thanks for the link and the mention of…
  • I've always been most attracted to men around 40, even when I was a teenager of 13/14. Yes, I know it's inappropriate for what is no more than a little kid to have an affair with a 40-year-old (and I never went there!) but I couldn't help it, I simply wasn't attracted to the immature jerks my age. Things have only changed…
  • I'll be watching some of the matches but I am already annoyed by all the media hype. It's too much! (yes, I'm a grumpy ol' *****) :b
  • This may sound very strange, but the one thing that helps me going is: Ignore and switch off that little inner voice, and JUST DO IT. If you have the luxury of being able to do your workout at the same time every day, then when that time comes, just get up and DO IT. Don't think. If your little inner voice comes on - and…
  • Don't feel discouraged! People who see you every day will not notice the difference so much - because they see you EVERY DAY. It's the nature of the beast that changes which take place slowly - like your weight loss - are not noticed as much by those who see you every day, because every day their brains get used to the…
  • *LMAO* Sorry, it must have been horribly embarrassing, but I can't stop laughing. :))
  • Just came across this article which might perhaps help you with your decision: http://www.livescience.com/41556-best-fitness-trackers.html
  • Short and fat legs *rolls eyes*
  • I do have the Flex and like it. It's not perfect but it's a good tool to keep track of how active or sedentary you are during the whole day, not just during your workout time. Like you, I never wore a watch but got used to the Flex within just a few hours. It didn't feel awkward, either, because the excitement over my new…
  • Brilliant! *PMSL*
  • Uuuh - those asterisks were automatically inserted by MFP. The word I had used was b-1-t.c,h-y. Hope this will work. *rolls eyes*
  • I've often wondered why people feel the need to be so *****y and belittle the success of others. It might possibly have something to do with you showing them their own weaknesses. You have achieved what they haven't, and that makes them feel both envious and a failure, in a way. This wasn't your intention but it's what it…
  • Just had a look at your food diary. You might be eating "too light" during the day, causing your brain to crave more food in the evenings because it hasn't had enough earlier. Do you feel hungry during the day? Is it possible for you to eat a little more for breakfast and lunch, and eat just a snack or a light supper in…
  • No, please don't become creepy! It's because of creeps that I'm staying away from the forums as much as possible. Nice / good guys *ARE* appreciated by many women! :)

  • I also used to think "a calorie is a calorie" but have recently been convinced otherwise. I've long heard that sugar is REALLY bad for you health-wise, but I was really blown away when I actually heard Robert Lustig's explanation - and that one calorie is not necessarily equal to another calorie:…
  • Apart from the numerous grammatical mistakes, it's a very encouraging article to anyone who wants to lose weight. It's basically saying: "Don't listen to the discouragers [it's a word now], just continue doing what you're doing. They (the discouragers) don't know better." Thanks for sharing!
  • Very interesting to listen to. I have no idea if his theory is right or wrong but WE would be wrong to dismiss it totally before knowing for sure. What if he IS right? We all know that we need to reduce the amount of food we eat in order to stay healthy. What if the official recommendation for carbohydrate consumption is…
  • Interesting topic, thanks for posting! I'm not vegetarian but don't eat much meat either - and now I've added a few more recipes to my collection ;)
  • This. I do believe that there is some mental thing going on, a bit similar to anorexia but with the opposite effect. Like Faye said, people don't choose to be fat. It makes them unhappy, depressed, withdrawing from the world. It hurts them. They are in a vicious circle. Just like it won't help an anorexic when you tell…
  • Yeah, I never really understood that, either. I simply don't click "Complete this Entry" anymore. :)
  • Clean shaven. It's not possible to explain it; it's like asking "WHY do you prefer blondes?" Give me a baldie (whole body) anytime! :))
  • No, you're not missing the point. Some people are treating MFP like Facebook, and try to gather as many friends as they can. Why that is I cannot say without slagging off everybody who has a huge friends list. It is not necessary to have a large friends list, it is important to have a GOOD friends list, with people who…
  • In principle I'm the same way. You put a pizza in front of me (or pasta or even worse, dhal curries; or any curry *mmmmmmmh*), and I eat so much that I physically feel sick. But as soon as I've digested enough to squeeze another spoonful into my belly, I do exactly that. I will stuff the whole plate of food into my…
  • Those are great suggestions! Thanks for posting this question, OP :D
  • Boobs. :(( The place I lose fat last: thighs. Now guess which part is the fattest, and which part didn't need to lose any fat tissue ... :/
  • Oh god, do I know this problem. For me it's not the chin but the thighs and cankles. I've always had big, wobbly thighs and huge cankles, even when I was thinner. To make matters worse, I have very short legs, and the fat makes them look even stumpier *rolls eyes*. Oh well. We can't all look "perfect", right? ;)
