  • Thanks Aak. I've been working on this for about a year and a half so far (on MFP for almost a year) Very slow going for me lol. I'm working on getting my motivation back. I think the hard part is that the family offering "you can to it", need to do it too and they know that, but they won't put in the effort. They would…
  • I learned that I'm tired of exercising. No one local to help me stay motivated or workout with, just the occasional "you can do it" SO... I joined 2 new groups on here. Lose 50 lbs by New Years and Biggest Loser (starting soon). Hopefully this will help. On a side note, I did some research on skin removal surgery because I…
  • Alrighty I'm in! I need something like this to stay motivated to workout.
  • I've been on here almost a year and I will stay on here until I'm at my goal weight and maintaining. But I know with this process, I have learned how to manage my diet for the long haul. Don't worry. To wean yourself off counting calories, maybe only log every other day, then every few days. I'm sure you will see that…
  • Southern California here too... the desert. Temps have been reaching 120 with a lot of humidity. I've lost motivation with exercise and really need to find it again. I joined a group to lose 50lbs by New Years. Maybe that will help get back/keep motivation with work outs. Family doesn't help AT ALL... With the extra time I…
  • Hey there. This is good for me, I have 55lbs left to lose. It has taken one whole year to lose just 30, but I've been going at a slow pace. I'll be 30 yrs old in October, single, no kids and trying to start my own business, so income is none existent right now. I do all my workouts at home (for free). Are there going to be…

  • For the past few days I have been over estimating my caloric intake. The package says 150 kcals per serving, I find an entry on here that says 160...I go with the 160. I also don't like to actually measure everything. So if I eyeball a cup of something, I log 1.5 cups just to be safe.
  • Arms are something I'm trying to focus more on. I'm hoping the skin and everything will bounce back :grumble:
  • I get this ALL THE FREAKING TIME!!! I don't count a loss until its the same for about 1-2 weeks. Got on the scale last week and said I lost 2 lbs. Got back on a few days later and the 2lbs were back. Finally today I felt comfortable logging the 2lb loss since the scales said the same thing twice in a row on two different…
  • It's been between 100 degrees and 120, with 20+ humidity. Needless to say, it is very hard to be motivated to do ANYTHING. I've been doing pretty well keeping my calories in check though. And I might have a once a week walking buddy, but the weather didn't permit this week :grumble:
  • I use to obsess over it too! But now I have a good handle of not really what I'm "allowed" to eat, but what I prefer to eat. (I'd rather have crackers then ice cream as a snack) I was able to go to a buffet for breakfast/lunch today, stay close to my calorie goal and ENJOY it! Also a big surprise - My mom said she was…
  • Lucky me, I've never had that much of a sweet tooth. My mom took us to the dentist every 6 months/once a year when we were little. I also kept it as an adult. But now that I don't have insurance, I do extra work to keep my mouth clean and healthy so I don't have to go the the Dr and like you said... shell out $$$
  • Other then getting to a certain weight and eating better, I don't specifically have a Fitness goal. Although with building stamina, I would like to be able to mow the lawn without having to take a break half way through. And maybe be able to do a couple regular pushups.
  • Brussels sprouts with dinner tonight. But I'm sneaking in some rice too.
  • Johnny Depp was the insane asylum Willy Wonka. Gene Wilder was the creepy but fun guy who you see at the store. I love Johnny Depp, but Wilder was the best Wonka, hands down. Now what about Charlie? I think Freddie Highmore was better than Peter Ostrum.....
  • There's no one younger in my life to really set an example for. But... my parents have high cholesterol and the doc told my mom that her's is getting out of control. I'm going grocery shopping with her today to help pick out "better for you" foods. She is the only one if our family who is hell bent on NO EXERCISE and will…
  • In my 20s I developed an allergy to most fruits. My lips, mouth and throat all start to get itchy and my tongue feels like it begins to swell. It sounds like you might have more of an 'intolerance'. I agree cut one of the foods out, see how your body responds. Then do it with the other food. Once you find the food thats…
  • I learned that you can't please everyone all the time. Also, if you don't give in to cravings sometimes, it makes whatever you are trying to achieve (weight loss, weight gain, health) even harder then it already is.
  • I have horrible balance, so maybe no weights for me. I'll see how I do with my arms up.
  • Sad to say, this is not a challenge for me. I can't stand cucumbers and I'm also allergic. I have been eating apples though, thats new for me.
  • I'm in a challenge to burn 10,000 calories in May so I've been doing a lot of cardio. Wii Just Dance has dances that incorporate a lot of skipping and also jump rope type of moves (invisible rope obviously). So my goal is to do those dances specifically today.
  • Add a smoothie a day to your diet. Include stuff like banana and peanut butter.
  • Celery and lima beans, seriously. They're nasty.
  • Just signed up, seems neat and pretty easy. Thanks
  • I book marked a new 10 minute workout yesterday, so this challenge is done! FitnessBlender on youtube is great.
  • My mom is very close-minded. Since I have started counting calories, she can see how I am eating better. She constantly talks about being "too fat" but will not do anything about it and she also despises counting calories and says she will NEVER do it. I've tried letting her know that she doesn't have to count everything,…
  • Jumping Jacks suck! This is one of the only reasons I don't like having a big chest, jumping is hell. I can do the side ones though
  • I learned that Just Dance on the Wii is a fun and exhausting form of exercise. I could burn more calories doing step aerobics but some times that just feels like work. I'd rather burn a bit less and enjoy the "workout".
