    Gene Wilder Vs. Johnny Depp

    I vote for Gene Wilder.. & as much as I love Johnny Depp he freaked me out in his version.

      Johnny Depp is one of our generation's underrated talents. His acting range is phenomenal, and it is probably only due to his choice of roles on the edge of the mainstream that have kept him from winning an Oscar.

      That being said, Gene Wilder is the Willy Wonka of my youth, and will forever define that role.

      I loved the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the newer one (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) just wasn't good at least in my opinion.

      That's not even up for debate. Gene Wilder IS Willy Wonka.

      The kid that plays Norman Bates, however, was a better Charlie Bucket.

      Edited to say: Uh, "everyone" loves Johnny Depp. He's not underrated AT ALL.

      Also, I enjoyed the Willy Wonka remake. It was cute.

      I've always disliked the original movie and I am a huge Tim Burton and Johnny Depp fan.
