I use Truvia and Vanilla Almond milk. It adds up to around 20 calories and tastes similar to the vanilla creamer I used to use. :)

I LOVED Ripped in 30. There was more variety than there had been in 30 Day Shred, and the calisthenics I hated (jumping jacks!!!) aren't in it. I haven't had time to do the whole 4 week program the way you're supposed to, but I've done most of the workouts on it and will go back to it when I have a chance. If you're…

I haven't tried it, and don't plan to. It seems frightening and way too extreme. I'd rather try to lose the weight the healthy way than jump to the riskier things right away. I can understand why people would want to try it, but the concept scares me personally.

I agree, 1200 seems a little low for your activity level. Maybe you could try calculating your BMR and then using the Harris Bennedict Equation (similar to the activity level thing on here) and see if you get a number that makes more sense? That combination always works for me in figuring out a calorie goal, I rarely go…

I'm thinking that might be it as well! I use 2% milk in my smoothies, so dairy could just as likely be the culprit! I might switch to almond milk to lower my dairy intake.

It sounds cheesy and you'll probably hear it a lot on here, but it really helps to look at it as a lifestyle change instead of a diet. I haven't actually given up any of the foods I like - I just eat the unhealthy stuff in much smaller portions. When I first started, I didn't know what to eat or how to change my normal…

I'm 20, too! Did you do it outside, or on a treadmill? Also, I LOVE Jillian's workout videos, I've done 30DS a couple of times and also Ripped in 30. I'll probably use her videos in between running to get in some strength training. EDIT: That was for mgnmsn, I forgot to click "quote" instead of reply! Sorry, still getting…

Thank you so much! Unfortunately, my gym is not open 24 hours, but it is open most of the day and membership is free. There was a yoga class available that I loved, but not many people came and eventually they got rid of it. Now they do Zumba, which is fun, but not my favorite way to workout. I love your suggestion about…

I don't know much about it, to be honest. :I think just having an accurate HRM like one from Polar would be enough to help your weight loss goals. I personally don't need all the extra features like an online account and a way to track my eating (I already get that for free here!). I just want something that accurately…

Please, guys? I hardly ever post here, I'm only asking because I could really use the help. :)

This! :)

I agree that it could be helpful if you're struggling to have someone look at your diary and let you know where you might be going wrong. But I don't think it's fair to say keeping your diary open is a way to "prove" you're ready to lose weight. I lost 20 pounds without having to show anyone my food choices. Keeping what I…

And this is why my diary is private. I don't eat a bunch of junk, but I don't like the idea of people looking at my food choices and judging me. I try not to do it to others, either. Technically, you can eat what you like as long as you're within your calorie limit for the day, so getting on my high horse and looking down…

I switch between a few different options, though none of them are that creative. Turkey bacon (usually 5 pieces) with one scrambled egg A berry smoothie (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, vanilla greek yogurt and 2% milk) Fiber One (or Multigrain Cheerios) with 2% milk

Yes! :) I lost 20 pounds eating more or less anything I wanted. If it fits into your calorie goal and you're not overeating, you can eat or drink ANYTHING and lose. For your health, it's obviously better to fill up some or most of those required calories with healthy food (which I'm trying to do now) but it terms of actual…

Thanks everyone! I'll definitely try some of the things you suggested! :)

I loved Week 2, but I never fully mastered it. I'm still working on my upper body strength, so the plank moves were really hard for me. I did get better with the strength moves, though. By the end I was doing some of them with 5 pound dumbbells when I had started with three. Wherever you've started on Day 1 is going to be…
