Ive "dieted" all my life lost weight and gained weight, I am the epitome of a yo yo dieter. Anyway i have gained about 20lbs and i started dieting 3 months ago and i lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks then gained it duh? so anyway i woke up one morning and it was like a light switch went off, i want to just be healthy and let the weight go to a healthy place, I notice that i do still eat some sweets like a small brownie or a little dry cereal everyday and each day i get a little better at my eating, but by no means as clean as i used to eat. So does anyone have experiance just slowly getting into healthier eating habits as opposed to just starting a diet and going great from the first day? what were your results like? Did not stressing actually help?

It sounds cheesy and you'll probably hear it a lot on here, but it really helps to look at it as a lifestyle change instead of a diet. I haven't actually given up any of the foods I like - I just eat the unhealthy stuff in much smaller portions.

When I first started, I didn't know what to eat or how to change my normal "diet" pattern. I started by cutting out soda. I didn't change anything else, just stopped drinking soda and replaced it with water. When I was able to do that consistently for about a week, I decided to add more vegetables, and switch from red meat to turkey meat when I could. I made a bunch of little changes over a month or so that added up to my entire diet being different. If I want to indulge or I'm really craving something, I go for it -- I just make sure it fits into my calories for the day.

What's wrong with dry cereal? I ate it most everyday in the first 50 lbs of my journey. And what's wrong with a small brownie for that matter? If it fits in your cals and macros nothing is off limits :)
