Since I am pretty sure only people in this forum will appreciate this post and I don't particularly want to bring down the wrath of dieters on my head :D http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/kcmsmith0405/view/learning-to-eat-more-and-lose-weight-946770

I'd go with increase your calories until you stop losing...

Welcome Brandi, Suzi and Hammykins :) Make sure you check out the Welcome to EM2WL Start here forum. Its the best place to find out what we are all about!
-
For the EM2WL method the guideline is finding your TDEE (total Daily Energy Exepditure) and then cutting 5-15% off that for a period of time to lose fat (and keep muscle). It also depends on getting to and staying for a while at your actual TDEE (Maintenance) level to stabilize your metabolism. I know when I went from my…

Not easy, but not terribly hard either :D It still requires saying no to things I want, but on a much smaller scale than the usual strict or severe diets that I have done in the past. And my body REALLY wants to eat at TDEE - I think it is spoiled hehe.
-
Check in time! Ok so I weathered the holidays- enjoyed everything I wanted stayed at TDEE and didn't gain anything. I think that may be the first time ever...! I am back to cutting now - shooting for 0.5 -1 lb a week - will be doing this until the end of February when I have a black belt test and I will go back up to TDEE…

I know right? I was shocked when I first plugged in my numbers...

Heybales knows his stuff, his is good advice :) Have you done the EM2WL TDEE Calculator? Try that - you will probably find your trainer is off. Here is a link for you: TDEE Calculator Kelly P.S. Most people fall into the Moderate category for exercise. From the sounds of it - you do too.

Halo Top is also great :D

Reading all the posts here I feel lucky - I do the Eat more to Lose weight plan with higher protein and based on Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) - 15% and my calories to lose are 1800 a day (plus I get to eat back exercise calories. Its a good thing to be 5'8" I suppose! That and I am interested in losing weight…

Hi Everyone, I decided to join in on this thread. I am 50, married with 2 teens of my own and a 3rd not my own living with me. I work full time as well as own a Karate school. I have been around MFP for quite a while now, and usually stay away from general postings because - well you've read them! LOL I am really praying…

Did you keep off that 60 lbs? If not - that didn't work. The goal is to learn to eat for life, not starving. That and working out to gain muscle (to burn more fat so you can eat more - oh wait that''s just me hehe). I am finding this way of eating takes patience. How long did you eat at TDEE (maintenance)? Kelly
-
Managing to hold steady - not losing though I am supposed to be eating at a cut - I am but I am working out so much less its more maintenance than anything. Still not gaining is a victory too!

*cheer* way to go :D

Kelly's Blog So I am finally back to cutting. Since my activity level dropped so much the cut feels huge (10% cut used to be like 2150 and now it is 1800). I am pondering why this is called "cutting" and not "dieting" because it feels so much the same. After doing a reset I am much more realistic about a cut than my…

Hi Jackie, That is a really low amount of calories for someone your weight who is working out 6 days a week. I am 215, lightly active and my amount of calories (minus exercise calories which I add back in) is 1700 to lose 1 lb a week. You should check out the Start Here Link. You can also go here to calculate your TDEE and…

Hi Everyone! I am still here, just busy working about 80 hours per week now with the new karate school and my current full time job. I am continuing to focus on my eating - getting my protein in most days and staying under TDEE 5 out of 7 days by about 10%. I had to drop my TDEE since my workouts have reduced quite a bit…

Weekly Update: Its been a stressful couple of weeks working on the transition of the Karate School from the old owner to us. My eating has been terrible, not home, not getting enough protein etc. My workout schedule has been cut in half (and that really hurts). I have relaxed a bit for now, but careful not to go over TDEE,…

FInally after almost no training last week due to work and my new business venture, got in a solid 45 minutes, 10 mins cardio warm-up and 35 minutes of forms. It felt great. Kelly

Weekly check-in No weight gain - no weight loss, bad logging, bad eating but.... I now am the proud owner of a Karate school. So I gave myself last week off ;-)
-
1 hour teaching
-
Two hours of teaching beginner belts, followed by 30 mins of good solid training, my voice got a good workout too. May be the only training I get in this week - I am filling in for my instructor and his wife who got "stuck" out on the Caribbean on their honeymoon cruise because of Irma.
-
I Pay $118 per month for unlimited training for me and my family. Plus another 45 a month for a gym membership for swimming and weights. I live in Michigan.
-
Hmm so possibly useful with a fully functioning metabolism, but too easy to overeat on the TDEE day hehe. I am going to see how 6 weeks on 2 weeks off goes for me first.
-
Weekly Update: This week was pretty much a bust. I think I need to be on the 6 weeks on 2 weeks off plan, 4 weeks was not enough time for me to see a noticeable result, and 1 week felt like a teaser at TDEE and I was not able to stay at cut after only one week off (way too much water weight fluctuation too). Back to the…

Hi all, I have about 9 years total into martial arts training throughout my life. I spent 5 years in TaeKwonDo and have a black belt. My first style was Tang Soo Do and I earned a 2nd Gup red belt in that original, am now back to that style 1st gup red belt. I was away from Martial arts for about 18 years for health and…

45 min class - a little running and stretching, but mostly easy going self-defense, I had to work with a 14 year old who didn't want to actually do any take downs - that was kind of crappy, but at least I got to work on my pre-takedown form LOL.
-
Felling a bit stalled this week, however - I am not gaining, so that is always a bonus. I am struggling with a cold, and that always makes me want to just eat carbs, so getting in my protein is rough. Plus working out is harder than normal. I have weights/swimming scheduled for today - I may have to cancel that and just…

Long night for me last night, 45 minutes assistant teaching for beginner belts, then 45 mins of sparring class (lots of bag work and sparring drills - some free sparring), 30 minutes of jr forms and One Steps and 30 more minutes of Red Belt Forms. You don't have it listed but I take Tang Soo Do Moo Do Kwan. Kelly
