First off, thanks everyone for the support! It was very helpful. Second, I drank a bunch of water yesterday and ta-da! Down 4 pounds today. Despite all the data you presented me with, it's still kind of a headscratcher, but I'll take all of this and at least keep the sodium in mind the next time I get hit with a big…

Thanks everyone. I'll stick to the water and keep at it.

Thanks for the comments everyone. For what it's worth, I'm not surprised that there'd be water weight even though I drink about 10 20oz bottles of water a day (though most of that is before 6pm), but I am surprised that it would cause me to gain a pound a day over 3 days. If you guys don't think that's weird, then I won't.…

I'm a comic artist and while I don't draw in a manga style, I'll be at Otakon (for example) with my lady wrestling comic book. Some of my favorite animes have been Wanna Be the Strongest, Vampire Hunter D and Evangilion. I've heard good things about Bleach and Attack on Titan but haven't gotten to them yet. But like all of…

I am! Someone on here recommended it to me. I though it was crazy voodoo nonsense and then I tried it. It was recommended too that I use a range, as opposed to a hard number, and mine is 2000-2300 per day.

I do use the TDEE method! iirc, I went with a 1000 calorie deficiency which put me at the above range of 2000-2300. It definitely works for me, using that method, but it wasn't until I really started using bigger weights/more reps per workout did I really see an improvement. The lower calorie burn was a little weird, and…

Oh, a quick aside, for better or for worse, I keep the same calorie goal of 2000-2300 every day regardless of how intense the workout, or even if I work out at all. The only thing then is that I'll eat closer to 2000 on days that I don't work out and closer to 2300 on the days that I work out big. I've burned 600-1000…

Thanks guys. Seeing me burn less calories kicks that competitive edge in myself, like WHAT, WHY ARE YOU BURNING LESS, WORK HARDER. Except, I am working harder. More weight/reps than the last workout. I use the HRM to keep myself honest and if it means accepting less calories on the workout, then so be it. My goal is to…

I'm not a certified anything but... With your headaches, that might mean you need something heartier than water, like an energy drink. Powerade Zero is very good, IMO. I don't know that protein drinks would help with your shakes during a workout. Protein drinks/shakes are usually for when you want to build muscle so what…

Okay, you all talked me into this Food Scale thing. I can go to Target and pick one up right away. So, is it fair to say that I've been eating way over my calorie count by not accurately counting the Food Scale way and that's why I've not been losing anything? I'm sort of hoping it's as simple as that because it's fixable,…

Okay, so what's the bottom line here? 1800 calories and Food Scale? With the understanding of keeping better track, especially on weekends AND to stay away from eating back my calories. Anything else I should try? Should I keep up with the weight lifting/interval training/DDP Yoga?

I based the size/servings of cake and ribeye off the size of my hand. Certainly not scientific but I believe it worked in the past (when I was a member of TOPS Club, non-profit weight loss org). I've also googled what 3oz chicken looks like, per se. Not to nitpick but is peanut butter a 'solid' food? Here's the thing, I…

Thanks Dana. Digital food scale just seems weird, like Orlistat weird but I guess I wouldn't be surprised that I was eating more than I thought. I'll definitely start counting condiments. Thanks for the tip about eating back exercise calories. I do that all the time. Hey Staci! I know I can do 1800 calories, but I think…

I don't have any answers, but I hope you'll accept some commiseration and support. I've been working out 60 minutes a day (weight lifting, cardo, yoga) 4 days a week since February and haven't lost a thing. I'm usually around 2000 calories and get 7 hours a sleep. Pills like Orlistat and caffeine didn't do a thing. I'm…
