Southern China (Shenzhen). It is getting pretty warm there and last time they just had windows open in still air with no real ventilation. I have also had these types of issues in Bangkok, Shanghai (in summer) and Seoul. Seoul they seem to always run the heater closer to 80 even in winter.

I probably average 4-5x per week on the 100 minute workout, and add in a 40 minute heavy weights routine 3x per week. Normally I will drink about 100 oz of water during the workout and I weigh about the same at the end. Only a few times I didn't drink anything to see how much water weight was lost as an experiment.…

All right, can the moderators please delete this. Don't need the lectures and snark.

Yeah, it says 2300 per day for 1 pound per week so I guess I should go with 1750 if I was deciding between the two, which is the answer I expected.

180 and 15% or less body fat. Currently 210 and estimating ~ 20-25% b.f. Thanks for all the replies, I will look into all these exercises plus maybe try the smith machine again. Mine does indeed have the leg press machine as well.

Yeah, it's some excess skin and also some fat. Looks about like me, with some stretch marks. I wouldn't worry about getting cosmetic surgery...unfortunately some people like you and I don't have the genetics for our skin to look great after weight substantial weight gain/loss. I would set a body fat % goal for yourself…

I still have 3 months in which to up the mileage. I'm doing 25 this week and will work it up to 30/wk by the end of november. Thanks for the discouragement everyone! Please delete thread and ban user, lol.

Yeah I did the half version of the race I'm planning to do 2 years ago and finished in 1:38. I don't recall any major soreness after, but I was about 10 pounds lighter than my current weight. So what I'm getting is that I should up the mileage to 30 mi/wk or so and see what happens. I'll probably keep doing the elliptical…

I don't want to be at 1500, but I think I'd like to lose another 10 pounds or so, and 1500 cals worked pretty well for 6 months for losing weight. I know I need to bring it up, the question is how much and how soon with the goal of losing perhaps a few more pounds but most critically not gaining anything? According to the…

Thanks for this. I did just eat 3x per day while dropping my weight, but it wasn't that bad psychologically because I usually exercised at noon without eating anything up to then, so the first opportunity to eat wasn't usually there until 1-2 PM and I spaced my remaining 2 meals 3-4 hours apart after that. Plus I was…

Yeah the bread kind of soaks it up and I pour a little bit directly onto the exposed grilled chicken in the middle of the sandwich before each bite.

Thanks, the first video in your second link looks pretty close to the way I tried to do it. I don't mind switching to dumbells for awhile since that's all I have available in hotel gyms when I travel sometimes anyway (although I did get a really weird huge purple discoloration on the back of my left knee from doing dumbell…

Oh, also the doc said to get the belt because it would give the abs something to press against when they clench during a lift. Maybe I'll stick to the dumbell row for awhile. Which bent-over row barbell row form is better? The one in the original video I linked where he is bent over at near 90 degrees with head facing…

Thanks. The program I'm doing is the all pro's beginner workout routine. Which is 7 barbell exercises - squat, bench, bent over row, overhead press, deadlift, curls, calf raises 3x per week. I only leave out the calf raises because I really don't have the proper equipment for it.

The more in shape I get the more I sweat. At 250 pounds I'd lose 1-3 pounds after a workout. At 195 I lose 4-6. Not sure if it's because I can workout harder, I'm hydrating more, or something else. The only thing I've unscientifically noticed is that if I have a really salty diet for a day or two I won't sweat as much.

Thanks for all the ideas, I'll see if I can try them all over the next few months.

So I ordered the 6oz and it was pretty small. I got totally out-steaked by my wife who had the 20 oz Ribeye, granted she only ate half in one sitting. The 6 oz filet was pretty small on the plate, it made about six 1/4" x 3" slices of steak. It looked pretty lean too, when I cut into it (med rare) I only saw brown and…

Thanks for the responses! Sounds like I should probably go with the 6 oz raw tenderloin trimmed to 1/8" fat and log 1 ounce of butter to go with it. That'll keep me pretty close to my daily goal. Thanks!

Thanks for the responses, Mrs. Dash sounds like what I needed, I wasn't aware of that brand. When you use a marinade on something like baked chicken breast, how much of it should you log for calories? Is there a way to estimate that?

I use a pre workout supplement called Mr. Hyde. It is the equivalent of 10 ~ish cups of coffee in one 8 oz serving. I never have a problem with early morning workouts.

Nice job man. 12% BF is impressive.

I spend a fair bit of time in China, fortunately for me it is in the major cities (Shanghai, Chongqing, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, etc) so I tend to eat at American chain restaurants where at least I know the caloric value of the foods I'll be eating. I know I will take criticism for not experiencing the "culture", but I do…

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions, I have read them all and have come away with some good ideas. I think it's not just the carbs for me, it's chocolate. Chocolate Cake, Chocolate cupcakes, and choclate candy bars are my kryptonite. I won't go to the stores that sell these anymore, nor will I visit the vending…

I think my muscle definition looks slightly better flexed, but my pecs, shoulders, and arms are sitll pretty sad looking. I only bench about 110 lbs/50kg for 10 reps. I'm still conflicted. I've decided to run a half marathon in February and I think the training for that will help me get down to 155. Here is a picture…

Just wanted to say thanks for the rest of the replies. I've read them all and am considering everything carefully. I am having a good week and feel like the belly is taking more of a hit. I really don't think it's completely loose skin, there is still some fat there that I think might go away at 155, as Iwishyouwell…

Ok, not the best, my lower abdobmen is still pretty messy but I can at least begin to see my abs after going from 290 to 165 lbs. I'm hoping in another 10 lbs it will improve more. It seems like mostly, you just have to get real skinny to expose them, as I don't have much muscle mass as you can see. I'm sure tons of people…
-
Just as a reference for muscle mass, here is what I looked like at 240 and 190. I honestly don't think I had much muscle mass at either of those weights either. 290 was too gross so I never took a picture. 240: 190: 165:

Thanks for all the continued responses. I have read them all and do appreciate your time and thoughts on the matter. I really targeted 10% more as my goal rather than a lower weight; I estimated that going from 175 from 155 at least 50% of my weight loss would be from fat (hopefully more like 70-80%). I had 26 lbs of fat…

To me, ideal would be something along the lines of this (minus the offensive tatoo in the second one of course): I know it will never happen because of my age and the damage I've done to my body, but I'd like to get a lot closer to that than what I am now.
-
Thanks for all the responses and encouragement or criticism. Loose skin is exactly what my family calls it, although I'm pretty self conscious about it so I haven't shown them. I do think there is a significant amount of fat still in my abdobmen though. If I squeeze it feels more like warm play-doh than loose paper (most…
