  • I'm a little late but could I join this challenge too? I've been struggling with this a lot in the last couple of weeks and I thought I was over it. :( Does anyone else here have a problem with secret eating? That's my big downfall, eating as much as I can of something as fast as I can, and then I destroy all the…
  • A friend of mine recently got breast implants, and she chose to have her surgery over her Christmas holidays. If you get vacation time sometime soon, you could book it around that time and not have to explain at all?
  • "Net calories" is just accounting for your exercise and doing some math... Calories from food eaten - the calories burned from exercise = how many "true" calories you've consumed in a day. So, If I eat my exercise calories than my net calories would look like this 1800 (eaten) - 500 (exercise = 1300 NET calories or if you…
  • Sounds like she wants to be "better than you"
  • I think giving her this might help, I found it informative http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/777-why-is-starvation-mode-so-bad
  • I'm approx. 225 lbs and pretty out of shape, I started to do the 30 day shred and just bombed. I gave up FOR NOW and instead I'm walking and trying to work my way up to jogging. My personal opinion, I would listen to your body and not push yourself TOO hard. Once you lose some weight and/or feel more fit try the 30 day…
  • This is similar to the original posters question, I've seen a $60 HRM at Walmart, I'm not sure what the brand is... Has anyone bought something similar? Or on pure speculation, do you think it would be decently accurate?

  • I've been considering buying myself things that will help me in losing more weight when I hit certain milestones... -15 I'd get a food scale -30 I'd get a HRM -45 new sneakers that sort of thing... only problem is figuring out where the money is going to come from :P

  • I don't like no carb/atkins for two reasons 1) I don't think its a diet anyone could sustain for the long term, its a DIET rather than a lifestyle change, which means 9 times out of 10 you'll end up gaining some weight back once you go back to carbs. 2) You (can, not always) end up eating way too much fat from the…
  • I think that would depend on the activity setting you've set. If you chose sedentary, I think it would be fair to log the exercise, but if you chose a setting that is a higher activity level, those calories would have already been accounted for.
  • Toast, carrot sticks with hummus and V8
  • I'm definitely in the same boat. It was Christmas!! But now, Christmas is over and it's time to be sensible again...
  • I usually have a toasted english muffin with PB and a serving of yogurt.
  • Oh its all about the clothes for me! In my mind I'll be able to wear nice sleeveless tops without feeling self-conscious (much), buy clingy fabrics without worrying i look pregnant, ALLL that good stuff.
  • You obviously know your body better than I do, but it sounds to me like you had a butt-kicking workout and are feeling the 'rewards' of that, not so much pulled muscles. It's hard to believe, but working out again will actually help that! I remember when I was kickboxing mondays and wednesdays, walking the steps up to the…
  • Welcome to the site, this is a really fantastic place! Good luck with all of your goals, and I hope you get healthy soon. :)
  • Onion perogies with salad
  • Thanks :) I think that was just the thing I needed to hear!
  • Sounds like you're doing good things. the only thing I could suggest is to 1) change up what you're eating, if you eat a lot of the same foods often 2) Change your workouts. if you have the same routine often your body stops responding to it as much eventually. Try doing high intensity interval training on the treadmill…
  • I have a bottle that holds 1L which is approximately 4 8oz "servings" of water. I know if I can drink 2 water bottles worth in a day, I've had enough. I personally find that a much easier way to make sure I've had enough mostly because I count less, and I don't need to be constantly be filling a glass etc. Good Luck! :)
  • Make sure you're counting all of your drinks, condiments, sauces etc. little bits of these here and that there can really add up to be a ton! Also, I've tried to replace some of my favourite foods with lower calorie options. Perfect example, I'm a complete chocolate addict so I found jello fat-free chocolate pudding cups…
  • That's awesome!! Way to go :) You must feel amazing! Congrats on your success
  • Its a little higher in calories, but you get whole grains and good protein, so I'd say so :)
  • Well I don't know the specifics of your vitamins but eggs contain approx. 1mg of iron each, if you already got 100% or close to the recommended amount for iron from your multivitamin then that could be what put you over for the day. If your multivitamin doesn't have that much iron in each one though, the goals from MFP…

  • Some vitamins are fat-soluble rather than water-soluble, (vitamin D, E, A, and K) which means you don't just pee them out, they can stay in your body and if you are taking in excessive amounts of these nutrients everyday they an accumulate and cause damage to your body. However, if you go over the recommended amount for a…

  • I've been here for a month and I love it! It's a great community, and as long as you don't mind spending the time logging its a pretty surefire way to lose some weight! Good luck with your goals, and feel free to add me as a friend as well, encouragement definitely makes things easier!
  • Another great place to get new workout videos is on YouTube! They are free and some of them are really great! My personal favourite right now it ToneItUpCom (that's the name of the channel)
