• I can't say exact content, but I use fat free cottage cheese instead of ricotta, low-fat mozzarella. And TONS of veggies (zucchini, mushrooms, squash, garlic, etc) for bulk instead of meat. Then fewer noodles. I can make it so a nice sized-slice is only 250 cals!
• Try www.skinnytaste.com - tons of delicious recipes that all are really fast and simple! Also, I buy some prepared chicken, etc from Trader joe's. It's delicious and can just be warmed up.

• I've noticed that the cooking spray also burns in the pan weird, etc. I try to use olive oil, but sometimes when I just need a really light coating i'll use the cooking sprays. Clearly what I need to do is instead get an olive oil mister!
• The Real L Word. It's so trashy and essentially has turned into soft porn at times, but hey, there really aren't any other lesbian shows on tv. LOL. It's basically like Jersey Shore for gay girls, LOL
• Yeah, but i'm not like 3-5 classes away from doing the poses. I'm more like 3-5 years away from doing the poses. Let's just say I was at least 75-100 pounds heavier than any person in the room, even the other newbies. I can't even do a lot of teh poses in a regular ol' non-hot yoga 101. So, it was a bit much for me. I plan…
• I tried it and I definitely wasn't ready...couldn't do the poses, etc. And it's miserably hot. I mean, the heat index is 149 in those rooms. I did have to meditate the last 10 minutes to focus on not puking, LOL. That said, having done it made me feel like I accomplished something huge. So, it felt good in that regard.…
• I did Bikram and was really out of shape, overweight, and had never done yoga. Big mistake. I was SO not ready or able. The poses are HARD. I had to do major modifications of almost everything. And, the heat is a real challenge. So, it depends on whether you like heat or not. But, if you calculate the heat index for those…
• amazing!! Great job :)
• My goal for August is to break my plateau and lose 7-8 pounds. I really want to lose 14 total by Sept 27th, my birthday. I am also trying to eat lower carb this month, because it helps my weight loss. Nothing drastic like Atkins, but sticking to the 50-100g range max.
• Welcome, Olivedrab! And up to 10k's? That's awesome!
• You look fabulous! Not only thinner, but you do look happier, more awake, more energetic, and a bigger smile :) Yay!!
• I think the new health care laws ("Obamacare") require national chain restaurants to include nutritional info on their menus. And, certain local laws might too (like, NYC requires it.) But, there's nothing that requires mom and pop shops to do so. I generally just choose something from the database and choose one of the…
• You look fabulous and should be proud of yourself!
• And, congratulations on clearly doing it so selfishly and without any smugness or arrogance about it whatsoever! And, you know, a lot of us (if not most) can't AFFORD the PRIVILEGE of providing two years of unpaid service anywhere, thank you very much. Some of us actually have to earn money to survive.
• WOW!! That is one great graphic. You're almost there! My BMI is down like 8 points...but, I still have a loooong way to go before I'd have a graphic like that!
•
agreed! :)
Good, then make your donation to Kiva. But don't just do nothing... How about posting some links to these organizations of which you approve? But, if folks want a simple way to donate $10 to the cause, the UN World Food Programme is legitimate and all you have to do is text "AID" to 27722
• Yes, and it's those "two cents" which creates apathy and now plenty of people will probably not donate. Thanks! The UN World Food Programme is a legitimate organization. And, texting the word AID is a *simple* way to donate, versus scouting out some local organization of which you approve. Furthermore, the whole "laziness…
• You have to learn to find things to do when you're emotional other than eat. People use different strategies. But, remember, you're eating b/c you want to do that instead of FEELING the actual emotion. You could: Write a letter or diary entry, ranting and raging or bawling about how you feel. Get those emotions out. Go on…
• Hey - that means you''re almost to 20% of your goal. Keep it up and good job!!
• Welcome, Bree! Sounds like a good goal - and, totally doable! I think we all set initial goals and then reassess. Originally I just wanted to lose 50 pounds, but once I got here I realized I can definitely do more!
• It's hard when a partner doesn't understand or isn't supportive. How is HIS weight? Regardless, you need to tell him that you appreciate that HE thinks you're fine the way you are. But, that YOU don't feel fine the way you are. And, tell him what you NEED from him. Speciically, tell him. You need him to do x, y, and z.…
• Welcome everyone! And, yes, it's fun coming up with all these funny ways of naming our community, since we don't want to get banned...
• You can do it, Dawn!
• Bumping this thread up in hopes we get some new members!
• I'm glad you've posted this topic - gonna follow it. I don't wanna read a book if it won't change my life!
• I was going to a gay lawyers event and NONE of my nice clothes fit me - NONE. I couldn't even lay on the bed and do them up! Right then, I just realized that I'm a professional and have succeeded in life...so, I can succeed in this. I don't want to be ashamed and feel like the fat slobby lawyer in every picture and at…
• I have one - a blonde pinup girl, w/ my gf's name below it. I want another pinup girl on the other arm, which would be a pinup lady justice. I'm a libra and a lawyer, so it works :) If I weren't a lawyer, I'd have sleeves man!
• Wooohooo... way to go! ;) I know what you mean about it feeling like a 'Fluke" though. I tried on like 3 different brands of pants just to confirm the size was right, LOL. I don't really wear women's pants much. When I started, I was in 22s. BUt, once i lost, i Switched back to men's pants. I'd imagine i"m in a 18/16 now.…
