I used to run at a slow pace. It depends on a number of things, including your stride. I found that with my slow jog and shallow stride it was comfortable for me to breathe in for 2 steps and out for 2 steps. You just need to find a rythmn to suit you.

Thanks for the replies. 14lbs in a stone Penny. Insanity is a crazy workout dvd produced by a ridiculously fit Shaun T. The good thing is, all you need is good footwear and a bit of space, no props. The downside is he will basically kill you for 40 minutes 6 days a week.

Sounds like in the first instance, you need to rest more than a couple of days. This might be fustrating as you want to run but in the long term, it wil be more beneficial. You have to get rid of the injury, your body is telling you it's damaged and it hasn't recovered yet. I would also talk to some of the Trainers at your…

I like the way you think ! If I have a fried egg but only eat the yolk, can I have a bag of chips? Or is that not the same? Lol.

Well done, very inspirational !

I don't do it with running but I have put together a 15 minute session using exercises from Insanity. Workout for 3 minutes and have a 30 second break. Doesn't sound much but if you have experienced Insanity you will know that 3 minutes of Insanity will hurt, a lot, depending on your effort level of course.

I like: "Keep hope alive" by Crystal Method. A fantastic track from the 90's with a great rave tone tempo. and "Mdlwembe" by Zola. This is a not so obvious choice but when you listen to it you will see why it is perfect for running. The rythym, kwaito heavy vibe and the way the bassline is bought forward without taking…

15lb sounds an ideal goal for Christmas. It's just about 2lb a week I think which should be achievable for me. Let's do it !

Welcome back. I re-joined today after 6 months of no activity, and I mean no activity. I am new Dad again and I've been rather neglectful of the diet and fitness thing. I'm looking for ideas on Christmas/New Year goals. Feel free to add me or bounce some ideas off me, and they will most definatelty bounce back, until I've…

Good luck with it. I’m 30 and after qualifying as a Financial Advisor in my early 20’s I decided it wasn’t for me. I’m now working towards a Degree in Metrology which will be a 2 year part time commitment and I have completed some pre qualifications already. I’m also thinking about obtaining a Certificate in Astronomy and…

There really is no easy solution to this. You can't "turn off" those distractions. You just need to try and find some time, possibly even later at night and do a workout then before bed. You can only do one thing at a time so when you start working out, ignore the housework. You could also try a shorter workout plan. I…

I agree with DavPul. Give the running a rest whilst your doing Insanity. 6 days a week of high intensity work outs is goig to push your body hard. Doing stuff on top increases your risk of burning out. I'm on month 2 and it's really getting intense. Getting results though so that's quite motivating. Good luck !

Hope so, they've been hiding for years, lol

I'm on week 4 and really enjoying the punishment. I think I've also fallen in love with Tania !

You've done the right thing by increasing your intake. It sounds like your body has recongized a significant change in diet and energy burning, it's reaction is to hold onto the fat supplies and instead use every single calorie you give it as efficiently as possible. So even when you're feeling hungry and thinking this has…

Every day. How else am I supposed to keep my fat *kitten* motivated? I just log in and minimise it on my screen all day, lol
