cabbage potato pancake (latke) with 2 strips of bacon and 3 poached eggs. Yum!

if you use enough herbs and spices, you won't need breading to hold it together

I've found that supplementing magnesium citrate helped tone down my chocolate cravings a ton!

I'm diabetic and lead a gluten free lifestyle, but I tend to be low carb, high fat, and high/moderate protein. Feel free to friend me. I try to track my food daily :)

Paleo is NOT low carb. It can be, by all means, but you can still have carbs in the form of fruit & veggies. I think the confusion comes in because it tends to be lower carb than other ways of eating, because you eliminate processed foods (bread, pasta, etc)

Thanks. Maybe if we keep this thread going as a support area, I can keep you all updated. My supply was really good with my first baby, but she had reflux really bad and couldn't nurse past 3 months. Started losing weight, getting really dehydrated... it was a nightmare. I felt like such a failure. She would try to latch…

aka Primal

Wouldn't it tell you your basic TDEE? I would expect it to be higher than average if the body is working extra hard to produce milk. I should have a few days with it before baby comes, so I'll be able to compare what I burn pre-baby compared to post partum.
-
Hubby let me get a bodybugg/body media fit thingy so I could figure out exactly how many cals I'll be burning when I start BF'ing later next week. Super excited for extra cals and an excuse to eat lots of good food.

If you want to keep dairy in your diet, look to Paleo's more relaxed little brother, Primal. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/

hardest workout is taking care of a newborn! Go for a slow walk if you are up to it, but stay away from cardio equipment! I'm delivering next week and plan on sitting on my butt, eating good food, going for walks in the mall, and bonding with new ankle biter until Valentines when I'm cleared to work out again.
-
Is exercise required? I guarantee I can drop the weight, but I won't be able to heavily exercise til Valentines at the earliest.
-
I usually just throw protein powder, cream, and almond milk in a blender shaker bottle, but every once in a while I'll splurge on a bag of the yoplait frozen smoothie mixes and make it with protein powder. My favorite is chocolate strawberry. So stinkin' good!
-
I'm 5'6" and got down to 169 in 2011-- lighter than I was in high school! I've put the weight back on, but will be dropping 20 lbs in the next month thanks to newborn :)
-
Polar HRM or Body Fit Media (bodybugg) should help you track your cals & exercise. A pedometer will only track how many steps you take in a day.
-
Try dicing up some pears and serving them together, and maybe some almond slivers. It's a nice balance.
-
guilty here as well! I love to roast them with bacon and sprinkle some parmesan on them after plating. SO GOOD!
-
Homemade Egg Nog is God's perfect protein shake! GOOD CARB!

Ghiradelli, Scharffen Berger, Righteously Raw

find a reputable local farmer and get your hands on some raw milk, or goat milk. Both extremely good for you!

Allow me to introduce you to Crio Bru, my chocolate loving brother! (also nibs are yummy. I like the Occumare ones from Amano) www.criobru.com

If money was never a problem, I'd rebuild my grandparent's cottage on Lake Winni in Gilford, NH

Truth. Franken-bacon.
-
I like mine chewy, so I don't really get a whole lot of fat that renders off.
-
Yup! I did 2 half marathons this summer while pregnant. A larabar got me through both :) And that's all I ate til I got home (then I had a small protein shake, and we went to a big dinner later in the day)

If you're not running very far (3 - 4 mi) you probably don't need to eat until after. If you're very concerned, try doing bulletproof coffee. http://www.bulletproofexec.com/how-to-make-your-coffee-bulletproof-and-your-morning-too/
