  • I wore my HRM yesterday doing Tabata and I burned 368 calories in 45 minutes. My gym shows your HR on a projector, I was at a pretty high intensity 85-93%. I weigh 150 5'5
  • dang, that freaked me out, I eat broccoli every day, I buy frozen packs to try to get my servings of veggies in every day. I had to get halfway down the article before I realized they were messing with us.
  • food enzymes. eat them with each meal. I use the one called Fast Food Enzymes by natural balance. I eat them with each meal that has vegetables or beans or gourds. I would also cut out the bread and dairy just to see if that's causing the issues. but I know I can't live without my enzymes, I carry them every where I go.
  • if it's good fat replacing carbs, I wouldn't beat myself up too much over it. each day I have a serving of black olives, nuts, 1/3 avocado. it keeps my brain functioning when I'm trying to keep from munching junk. Jerky is an easy snack to carry around that has protein. if you can stomach it, canned fish. I know it's hard…
  • eat your meat vegetables and fruit. Every time you feel like candy, go for a walk and think about how hard you've worked and how long it takes to remove the candy from your hips. :) Pray for strength. If you eat a piece a fruit and take the walk, and still feel the need to have a piece of chocolate, then a single piece…
  • dang, you did good :)
  • I went on vacation to vegas and walked all day long and ate light, i was surprised how lean i got not exercising every day, just walking.
  • eggs, turkey sausage, veggies. chicken breast, apple, vegetable, nuts. fish, salad, sweet potato. if you exercise, eat another fruit before or after. snacks same as above by heather. I've seen people eat those 100 calorie snack packs all day long to stay under 1200 and it's just not good nutrition. try to eat lean…
  • macros are your food percent goals that you enter into MFP, like 40 percent protein, 30 fat and 30 carbs.
  • Cheat days can be confusing. I've had a trainer say to do it, and to go high carb that day and low the rest of the week. I've had another trainer say only a cheat meal. Then another say still log your food and not go over 2500. its very confusing. I've done the 1200/1500 every other day since I exercise so much it's very…
  • awesome job, I should take before and after pics but scared to, :)
  • what does that 1490 consist of? make sure you have good macros entered in. I try for 120 grams of protein, 60-70 carbs and the rest fat. when I first started I did 30, 40, 30. now I do the 40,30, 30.
  • need MFP for maintenance and to stay motivated. I fell off the wagon after moving because of altitude sickness. I am back in the game now, 5 days a week gym and the weekends are filled with hiking and motorcycles.
  • Hello, I work in Denver, live in Golden, I'll send you an add request.
  • Hey, I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma, but I just moved to Denver 6 months ago.
  • oh and to answer your question to lose weight, log your food, everything, religiously. MFP does work. sign up for spark, read fitness magazines on what to eat to be healthy. do some sort of activity every day even if it's just for 20 minutes. I tell myself that each time I don't feel like going, just give it 20 minutes. If…
  • we have these too at work and it's usually men who win. If you can team up with a group of coworkers to encourage and account for each other to be healthy. share food logs, walk or exercise together. It is fun. But don't try to win by starving yourself. We have seen good success stories of people changing their lives and…
  • I work in downtown Denver, live near Lookout Mountain, Golden CO, lots of hiking trails there. I need a hiking buddy and a lunch time walking buddy.
  • oh girl, you need a rest day, don't feel guilty
  • man I need to do this, you are doing great
  • oh as my breakfast treat, I make a half pb&j, using all fruit jelly, trying a variety of different breads from whole foods. having my carbs early instead of evening. oh and the salad kits I get are the kale, broccoli, Asian. not the iceberg ones.
  • I'm trying to eat veggies with every meal, so I throw the stir-fry frozen pack in with my eggs at work. first heat up 3/4 cup veggies as you are scrambling the 2 eggs, then throw them together and heat for 2 minutes. I'm sure it's even better with shredded cheese but I'm going to wait until I'm tired of this. if you have…
  • if you really want to start lifting, a personal trainer is an excellent idea, they get you familiar with the equipment and comfortable walking around the gym. The ymca is always running 3 for $99 specials. Or if you want to start at home, bands are very versatile. they have some really thick ones that you can get quite a…
  • i saw the groupon and it looked like you could just buy a big bag of fajita chicken and frozen vegetables at Sam's club and get the same results. how would you rate the convenience of the groupon package?
  • been there. when i stop counting is when the calories start creeping back up and before you know it, you are back to square one. I wish I could be a little more obsessed again.
  • http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2007/04/06/how-to-lose-20-lbs-of-fat-in-30-days-without-doing-any-exercise/ Rule #1: Avoid “white” carbohydrates Avoid any carbohydrate that is — or can be — white. I run back and forth, treadmill and outside. the incline will help mimic the outdoors. when i trained for my 10k i only did 3 miles every other day cuz i didnt have time to train more. i was nervous on race day so i had a preworkout drink. The adrenaline of being outside with a group…
