Not to sound like a broken record but, " I've had the same issues". I had a strained psoas. It hurt to get in and out of my car and running was out of the question. Rest and a really good deep tissue massage therapist helped, one that specialized in psoas release. Cycling was really the only exercise I could do until my…

Excellent question and answers... I was wondering the EXACT same thing. I think I'll pass on the detox/cleanse/juice fast and stick to as much raw/organic I can afford. I have heard that consuming Chia seeds and aloe are good for removing toxins in your colon. Any thoughts?

Race fees are the big killer for me. I would run a 5k or 10k (race) a week if my wallet would allow it. My average runs are about 7 miles, 5 days a week.

HAHAHA... if I have to run on the treadmill, I stare at the light on the outside of the motor of the garage door opener. I'm running toward the light, so to speak. Otherwise, I do speed intervals and listen to music to kill time.

Hate Runner's Trots... Caused by certain muscles starting to relax due to blood flow to your legs. I've battled with this from time to time. I'm not sure what time you run, but this is an issue for me in the Summer time because I like run early before the heat. I make sure I watch the time and what I eat the night before.…

Well said! I am a cardio junky and I totally obsess over "calories burned" rather than focusing on any sort of strength training. Thanks for the kick in the pants!

This may seem like an odd sugguestion, but Roller Derby Work Out kicks *kitten*!!! The focus is your abs, glutes and legs.... You don't need skates, you can wear ankle weights or go without either. This not for the faint of heart. These girls will make you suffer (in a good way) There's a short video on youtube you can…

Well done!

I highly recomend not eating any dairy products or any type fried food before a run. Chocolate milk is the most AWESOME recovery beverage ever (for me). If you have the time, eat your planned meal (or snack) then wait at least a half an hour to an hour before you run. If you're on a time crunch, keep it simple. PB and a…

My guess is it's an error taking your measurements. Perhaps you didn't measure the same? Some spots are really easy to measure consistently... others not so much. [/quote] Ditto... The other day, I thought I had one thigh 1.5 inches bigger than the other. Not so. Operator error in measuring. You're down a size in jeans =…

Both my spouse and I occassionally suffer from leg crams. On long runs or bike rides we use a product called Nuun. It comes in tablet form. You add it to a water bottle. I'll drink one 16oz bottle (with one tablet) before and one after a long work-out. Only 7 calories in each tablet. Propel Zero is AWFUL. Sorry for the…

This is EXACTLY why I do not patronize Walmart. If I were a Zombie, Walmart would be the first place I'd go.

When I first started running, it seemed as though my appetite was off the charts. I learned to keep lots healthy snacks handy - like plain almonds. Also, watch your water intake. It could be that your mistaking thirst for hunger. I found that if I drink 16oz of water right after I run, I'm less likely to indulge in extra…

Heck Yes! I would FLIPPIN' starve. 1200 IS NOT ENOUGH! I excercise 5 days a week minimum. Today I road my mountain bike 2.5 hours and burned approx 1000 calories. If I'm hungry, I eat. You don't want to send yourself into starvation mode IMHO.

I've eliminated Del Taco, but that's about it. Everything in moderation. I eat more whole foods, less prepackaged / fast food.
