I also suggest frozen veggies over fresh. "They" (no I don't have sources materials at my finger tips, so nobody ask) are finding that frozen veggies may be more nutritious than fresh. They are frozen quickly after harvest where as fresh are stored and may travel for days before reaching the stores, losing nutrients the…

In this situation, because you are losing SO much fat I would add the Kafta as a recipe with all the ingredients (using Raw lamb). Then weight the WHOLE batch after you cook it. Use the total weight as the number of servings for the recipe so, In this case you would have 750 "servings" Then weigh what you plan on eating…

I like this FB page https://www.facebook.com/LowCarbingAmongFriends/?fref=nf They pull from quite a few different bloggers. While you are still getting your meat and veggies, they have a lot of casserole, stew and soup recipes.

FitBit uses TDEE. It calculates ALL the calories used during the day. when I wake up it shows I've already burned 300 calories. There isn't any of the bouncing calories because you haven't been as active as MFP expected you to be. It's really crappy to think you were doing great all day and then find out at 11 PM you're…
-
If you use MFPs NEAT formula sure. If you use the FitBit TDEE method, eating them back isn't necessary. They are already accounted for. Some people use MFP just to track what they are eating. I have much more success using TDEE and eating 1600 calories than the MFP 1200 gave me. OP, I would strongly advise joining the…

Have you had a scan? How do you know it's wrong? One of the main reasons I had the scan was to see how far off the scale was! I was sooo disappointed to find out it was accurate :-(
-
I don't eat back my calories. I have negative adjustments turned off and have my calories at a fixed amount (premium). My daily calories are approximately 20% less than my TDEE (30 day avg) TDEE comes from FitBit.
-
"The bio-Impedence does not measure body fat percentage with a margin of error of up to 13% it is virtually worthless, and worse for women than me." Compared to the DEXA Scan I had, mine is in the 1% range. more than accurate enough for my daily needs.

Some people use the calorie info in FitBit?
-
Yep. Just go into the activities log and enter swimming. Make note of the start and stop times. the Fitbit database of exercise seems to be more accurate than MFPs. Plus if all activity is done in one, and the food in another, they won't "trip over each other"
-
I have premium and I got it for the sole reason that I can now set my goals in grams instead of % and I can set different goals for different days.
-
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users I think most of us use MFP to log food (it's strength) and use Fitbit to log any exercise (it's strength). I do know that I completely ignore Fitbits calorie info. They will take you to silly low levels of allowable calories. Plus the "calories left" is confusing…

The new Arias are super easy to set up. Unlike the first versions.
-
I have the Aria and have it synced with FitBit and Trendweight. I had a DEXA Scan done and the scale is close enough for my needs. There was 5 hours and breakfast and beverages between the scale weight and the scan. The Aria was less than 1% difference. The "trick" to getting consistant accurate readings with the scales is…

Exactly. I was a manager in the QLD hospitality industry. At 5 hours you get a half hour break. Period. Every 4 hours I had to give a 10 minute break. OP, You should know that Subway can make any of their sandwiches into a salad bowl.

Not going to lie. You are going to find out everything you use your ab muscles for. From going to the bathroom to laughing to brushing your teeth or sneezing etc. It the "hurt" eases up after a day or two, but I'd make sure you wear clothing that won't snag it until it's completely healed.
-
I only wear mine one finger above the wrist bone (towards the elbow) even when I am purposefully exercising. It did take me a bit to find the sweet spot on my arm and the perfect hole to leave the band at so it doesn't constantly slide around or up and down.

Our general rule of thumb for "eating clean" is would our great grandfathers recognize/pronounce these ingredients. So: Homemade mac & cheese - clean; Kraft blue box - not clean Homemade bread - clean; in a plastic sleeve - not clean etc etc. We of course don't always achieve it, but we at least try.
-
The website offers more data in a more "user friendly" format. It's easier to see charts and graphs and add workouts, make changes etc. For those that are new to FitBit, I recommend ignoring the food/calories to burn info on FitBit. A lot of us have them linked, but only use MFP to record the food and FitBit to record…
-
I've compared it to MMW and the calorie burn between them is pretty close. Now that the FitBit tracking is working better, I may just switch to that instead of MMW. FitBit's latest update installed a SmartTracker(?) it knows when you are doing a consistant exercise, like walking the dog, and it records it in the activity…

I think the RDA is 3500. You can't go by what is in the MFP database because food labels aren't required to list it. If you eat green leafy veggies, spinach, kale etc, you are probably getting close to what you need. Have a bananna to increase even further. My protein powder contains 129 mg of potassium.
-
I have the Charge HR. I like that it gives me a more accurate TDEE than generic on-line formulas.
-
I also make sure I get plenty of magnesium. They ssay it helps with the inflammation. I can tell a bit of a difference. I have never kept a diary beyond "Walked the dogs up hill in 28 C heat. had trouble breathing at the top. Used inhaler". I have no idea what my peak flows might be or even how to test it.

I have exercise triggered asthma all my life. Allergies trigger it too (yea). The ONLY preventitive that has ever made a difference is QVar. I'm not sure what it's called in the states. For cardio, I was a figure skater and, later on, an off-shore sailor. I used the rescue inhaler whenever I needed it during exercise and…

They used to be a bear. Mine was broken (no fault of the scale) and the offender replaced it. The set up with the news ones is easy as. Took me about 5 minutes. The first one needed two people. The scale finds your Wifi and you enter the passcode. Done.
-
Good to know. I use trendweight, but I thought it was the Aria scale that sync'd, not FitBit
-
You can use the Libra app to graph trends. I found that eases some of the "anxiety" over weight bounces.
-
Everyone complains about scales being inaccurate, but I have the Aria and just had a DEXA scan done. My "just woke up and deyhydrated" (causing a higher reading) BF% and the DEXA scan "4 hours and much food and water later" BF% were only 1.1% off. Allowing for the dehydration factor of the first BF%, the Aria is close…

Can you call it "hiking" instead of a walking? Walking assumes flat linear surface. hike assumes uneven terain, etc. You might get the extra credit for the extra effort.
