I am Australian and I have to ask for more ice every single time I am at a fast food place. And I have seen Aussies return a cup to the counter because there was too much ice and not enough "cool drink" as they call it.

I'm assuming you know the difference between saturated and non-saturated fats? I eat a fairly LCHF diet, but the majority my fats come from nuts, olive oils, etc. My latest overall cholesterol, as of last monday, is 2.7 (not sure what that is in American). The doctor told me it is less than 1/2 what they would expect to…

That's interesting. I know that Hungry Jacks (Burger King) imports it's french fries from the US. Says so right on the boxes I've seen. I wonder what the differences are, if any.

I'm surprised they didn't do it fasting. My very first cholesterol test, they told me to fast, but never mentioned coffee. One cup put me into the 200s! I had to re-do the test.

The same thing was happening to me. The only logical explaination I could come up with is my muscles really retain water after heavy workouts. I never researched it much beyond that since my size was going down.
-
What cracks me up is I have to argue with them to give me more than 4 ice cubes. Guys you're saving product if you give me what I want. Do Aussies really rather a full cup of warm soda?

The Big Mac US vs Big Mac Australia is HUGE, 550 calories to 493. This is also evident when just looking at the burger itself. I laughed the first time I saw one down here. more $$ for far less burger.

maybe the OP is concerned about her sugar intake because the WHO has recommended it. http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/releases/2015/sugar-guideline/en/

I agree with this. I also just had a DEXA Body Comp Scan done and the Aria scale was pretty darn close to the scan. My BF% in the AM (dehydrated) was 35% ish and my scan BF%, 5 hours later after eating and drinking, was 34% ish

Your BMR Is what you burn if you lay in bed and do nothing but sleep all day. I think you are confusing that with your TDEE, which is BMR plus everything else, like getting dressed and walking the dog. I personally won't eat below by BMR regardless of what any calculators say I should eat. ETA: I get my best guesstimate…

so, it works, BUT, on the dashboard is hows the walk with the GPS map, on the activities list it shows the walk, but the steps are different and the calories burned are different. I'm not sure if it recorded the walk from me activating the app, or if it recorded the walk from the SmartTracking. If I was to put in a…

I tested it today. The map looks good. distance and pace are close enough for gov't work (.85 miles FB v. .89 miles MMF). FitBit got the elevation close (60 ft v MMF 62 ft) and FitBit calories were higher, so we'll go with that. The difference in distance I'm attributing to getting the dogs set before remembering to turn…

We went with Balance Pure WPI Protein.

I'll give it a try this weekend when I'm out and about. We have a scavenger hunt in town, that should put it through the paces ;-)

"I'm going to have to break out the Fitbit app and see how those work. I hope I don't start getting sync issues. That's my fear" The 2x I've tested it, the activity has posted to my log, but then I just go in and delete it. since MMF doesn't report back to FitBit, it's no drama that I can see. One of the tests FB got the…

I just wish FB would fix the tracker in the app. One day I ran both the app and MMF on the same phone on the same walk. FB only mapped 1/4 of it

I thought the "walk" activity was MMF feeding back into FitBit? I use MMF when I walk the dogs to get an accurate distance since my arms don't move in a natural motion holding leashes. The "walk" activity ONLY shows up when I've used MMF. How would FitBit differentiate between normal walking around the mall and walking the…

I found it to be fairly accurate. It's amazing to look at the before/after graph once I re-crate trained the dog and after my husband started working away ... a nice solid blue line ;-)

I'm on my second one. I was "spotty" for 4-6 months with the first one and have only had 2/3 periods in the past 8 years. When I had the 2nd one put in, I was spotty for that month.

There is also a glitch in the app, that they are aware of, where it records activities 2x if you enter manually enter them. Until they fix it, I only enter stuff on the PC and let it synce to the app.
-
Only if you have an iPhone. For less than $60 AUD a year, it's fine. That's less than one dinner out for two.
-
I was able to enter my macros in grams instead of percentages. Now I don't have to keep doing math all day. For that alone it was worth the price.

US TBS are three tsp = 15 ml OZ TBS are four tsp = 20 ML one tsp = 5 ml in both countries

I'll add to the FitBit. It may not be 100% accurate, but it has to be closer than a generic one size fits all, "guess what we mean by these activity level words" formula.

They aren't in the Mexican section, they are in the bread aisle

OP. I use Goodness Super Food tortillas, HIGH in Fiber, carbs are 13, but still heaps better than bread or regular tortillas. Woolies and Coles sell them.
-
my 30 day avg TDEE is 2030 and I have been at a desk job this past month. I try to stick to 1640 calories a day.
-
The 2463 isn't your FitBit BMR, it's your TDEE. Your BMR plus everything else you do. If your BMR is 1521 and you are eating less than that, it is a significant deficit. the 1521 is what your body burns if you lay in bed and move no more than changing the channels on the TV.

Have you read "Protein Power" by the Drs Eads? That was the one that started me on the LC lifestyle
