  • Logging every bite has made all the difference for me. And I quickly learned that I am better off logging meals before I eat them, so I can figure out how much of each thing to eat, and how to balance the whole day.
  • I'm wearing a pair of shorts I haven't been able to wear in a long time (two years?). I love readng about all these NSV's!
  • I took a look at your diary, all the way back to late September. If the rest of the two years is like the month plus I looked at, it's no wonder you haven't lost any weight. In October, you only logged about five days, and a couple of those days look incomplete. There also seems to be a lot of fast food on the days you do…
  • You should relax and follow doctor's orders. Eating less will not save muscle mass. It won't all go away in two weeks, and what you do lose will come back quickly when you are clear to exercise again. Eat healthy, don't get carried away with either pigging out or trying to eat less. You need to eat good healthy foods to…
  • Yeah, if that's a time you need a snack, just plan for it.
  • Ice on your knee will help the swelling. What they all said- drink more water, eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Lots and lots of water.
  • Had mine out at 19. I spent most of my life up until that point with strep throat from October through April unless I was on antibiotics. There were a few really bad days, but take the drugs they offer. I was in college, and was back in class after a week, and after two weeks was pretty much back to normal. I haven't had…
  • GMO and hybridized are two completely separate things. GMO has DNA of another organism in it. Pretty much any farmed plant anywhere in the world is hybridized at this point is history- selectively bred for certain characteristics, therefore different from what originally occured in the wild. Hybridization/selective…
  • Don't buy in to the anti-carbohydrate hype around here. As others have said, as long as you aren't over doing it, and you don't have a valid medical reason to avoid it, wheat/pasta/carbs are a perfectly normal part of a healthy balanced diet. And if you are eating whole grains, even better.
  • I shouldn't have read this before breakfast...
  • I aim for clean. Not a nutcase about it, but I think I manage to do a pretty good job of it most of the time. It's cheaper and healthier, and I like to eat a lot, and if you are eating clean, you can eat more than if you are eating a bunch of junk.
  • Wow! That's great! And I love hearing that people are able to get off medications!
  • I didn't eat ANY Halloween candy this year! Yay me- I usually binge big time. My husband bought the candy, and none of it was worth having to log in my diary and give up calories for, so I didn't eat a bite. That's a huge NSV for me!
  • As they say in 12 step programs, denial ain't a river in Egypt... I looked through your diary. Some days you haven't logged at all. Some days you are WAY over on calories. Some days it looks like you logging is incomplete. When you are serious, the tools are here and ready to be used.
  • Beautiful dress, beautiful bride!
  • I had NONE, which is a major accomplishment for me. My husband bought the candy, and it was all stuff I would never choose. I knew if I ate one, even if I didn't like it, I'd eat a lot. I didn't want to log a bunch of crap I don't even like in my diary.
  • Mine's open, feel free to take a look.
  • You do have a lot on you plate right now! You are stress eating because you are under a lot of stress! don't beat yourself up! Be good to yourself. I have twins that are 22 years old now, but I remember the exhaustion very well! I know I ate too much hoping that eating would give me the burst of energy I needed to get…
  • I put a little nonfat milk, just enough to cool it down so I don't burn my tongue, in my first cup of the day, then I drink it black the rest of the morning.
  • You said medium/large, so I'd go with a medium/higher estimate.
  • In eat most of my exercise calories back. It's good motivation to exercise! And I'm losing steadily, at a faster rate than I thought.
  • 5'7", large framed and curvy. Photos in my profile. Sept 17 photo 294 lbs, Oct 25 photo, 186 lbs.
  • Honey crisp! Never had one before a few weeks ago. I bit into it and immediately thought this is the best apple I have ever eaten in my life! They are expensive around here- $2.49 a pound today, vs. .99 for gala, red delicious, and the other more common varieties.
  • I've lost 22 pounds and I'm still the same pants size (14). But, I can wear 14's I couldn't wear 22 pounds ago, and the ones I could wear then are much looser. My work pants are almost too big. Even at my thinnest, in college, the smallest size I ever wore was a 10 (at 132). My hips just won't fit in an 8. I doubt my…
  • Yeah, no. Doesn't makes sense on so many levels.
  • Exercise doesn't have to be some major workout. Just go for a walk. Then tomorrow, walk a little farther. Just get moving. If five minutes is what you can handle, do five minutes, then later today, do another five minutes. AND stay in touch with your doctor, make sure your asthma is under control.
  • By about 4:00/4:30 I am ready to eat dinner. I am hungry and tired and just want to eat. But, we don't usually eat dinner until about 6:00 due to everyone else's schedules.
  • More exercise around the big eating days is my plan. And not over eating on the days leading up to the holiday itself.
