It depends a lot on your build. If you are more fine boned and willowy, 120 might work at that height, but you might find a weight that you look and feel great at before you get there, and that's okay.

Good for you! Doesn't take long to start seeing/feeling results.

I have a rule that I don't eat anything at work that I didn't bring with me. And I bring a couple of snacks along with lunch every day. Keeps me on the straight and narrow.
-
Good for you!

3. I very rarely have take out for lunch. You must have just looked at the fast few days (chinese, dinner on Oct 5th with my husband, Monday night dinner with the kids). Could be a great deal of sodium in those meals causing water retention. That could account for up to four or five pounds.

Well, it depends. How many calories have you eaten so far today? Have you met you macros? Did you exercise today and "earn" extra calories? Have you been eating good healthy whole foods?

Calcium is a concern as well. Make sure he's getting enough. Definitely as your pediatrician.
-
Try it. See if it makes a difference. You may not be netting enough calories.

Yep, real food goes bad faster. The reason people started making white flour and white rice was to keep the vermin out. Think about that- the rats won't eat it, why should you? The half life for fresh fruit is very short. And berries, it's a day or two.

I think you'll know in less than 30 days if it's making a difference. Walk, ride a bike, take a break. See if it helps.

Congratulations on the amazing weight loss and transformation! It sounds like you are doing a great job with eating and exercise. I don't have much advice to except keep doing what you are doing and see how you look in another year or so. A good friend of mine lost about 150 lbs and her doctor told her to maintain her new…

Know what I am eating! I look things up before I eat, and usually log a meal before I eat it. Fewer surprises and overages that way. One other rule I have made for myself is that I don't eat at work unless I brought it. We have a table where people put things to share- if it's there, it's up for grabs. People bring in all…

Perfect.

Yep, need my carbs or I get really, really cranky. I think it's one of those know your own body situations. Find what works for you and don't worry about the flavor of the week.

You don't have to do anything. That's the beauty of MFP. I always click complete because I like the sense of satisfaction and seeing the estimated weight.
-
I'm in! 50 miles in October here I come.

Since I am weighing what I am eating, I weigh is the state I am going to eat it. Just be sure when you log it specifies, as others have mentioned.

My 22 year old son started dropping weight fairly rapidly right after the beginning of the year. He was running a slight fever, off and on. I kept asking him if he felt okay, because something just wasn't right. He started getting really tired. Like every time he sat down for a few minutes he fell asleep. Well, he was…

If something seems way off, I'll google it and cross check against a few other sites.

Due to back, neck, and knee issues, and a concussion that screwed up my depth perception and balance, walking is really the best choice for me. All exercise is good. Any exercise is more than no exercise. Yes, you can reach your weight goals only walking. Maybe not as quickly as someone who can do my strenuous exercise,…

I see these type of posts often, and then I go look at the diary. One thing that frequently jumps out at me is the number of foods entered. There aren't very many. You are staying in your calorie goals, which is good, but you, and others, who have this complaint, don't seem to be eating much. My diary is open. Without even…

Swearing is probably not allowed on this forum so I will do the best I can not to get scolded. There is no way this is going to help you do anything except lighten you wallet. Eat good healthy foods, exercise a bit, and you system works just fine. There is nothing lurking in you colon necessitating a power enema. Really.…

Having just crossed that line myself, I know what an awesome feeling that is! Congratulations!
-
Yay water. I am a fan.

And, 15 pounds in 3 months is a good start! In the long run, taking it off slowly, developing good habits, eating healthy, and learning to incorporate exercise will be better for you than dropping a ot of weight quickly.
-
Are you tracking your food? Did you calculate what an appropriate number of calories for you is? If you open your diary, it will be easier to give advice.
-
Yes it makes sense, and I'd love to have one, too.
-
No, I don't track sugar in my diary. There is no way to track added sugars separately from sugars that re naturally occurring in your food, like fruit. Two servings of fruit will blow your sugar numbers out of the water, so I just ignore it. I am eating very little (frequently no) added sugars, so I consider it a non issue.

Sounds good!

Thanks everyone. It's silly, but it does make a difference in how I feel about my size.
