Honestly, at least as far as the thin pants go, I think it's just that so much of women's work out clothes are made with cheap, low quality materials. That's just based on my experience at the gym and shopping. I don't know about the short shorts. That's a mystery to me too!

Well done! Good for you.

MFP overestimates. Go with your HRM. I don't understand why this is even a question . . . if you're not using the HRM calorie burned estimate, why did you get an HRM to begin with?

So quit eating at restaurants the don't publish nutritional info. OMG, look at that, problem solved.

A digital scale and a heart rate monitor. The digital scale just feels so much more accurate than the old school kind with the little needles, and I like not wondering if it's calibrated correctly or not. And I love my heart rate monitor, I find it helpful to have an accurate estimate of what I've burned off during…

Ugh, really?? I hate it when I accidentally hit my ear drum!
-
Take your measurements. Track your inches.
-
I don't think you should have apologized, it probably was him. At the same time, I think you're being silly . . . I feel like "OMG I'm depressed and can't handle the smell of chocolate right now" is some serious diva behavior.
-
How are you estimating the # of calories you burn with exercise? MFP tends to overestimate on some exercises, so if you're using their estimate, you may be over estimating the calories you're burning.
-
The calorie goal that MFP gives you already HAS a deficit. So if you ate 1200 calories every day, you'd still lose whatever your loss goal was when you set up MFP. The idea is to NET that goa.

Do what you like to do, whatever those machines are. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about them. Whatever gets you exercising in a way that you'll stick with, that's what you should be doing.

Buy a tape measure and track your measurements. I feel like that's a better way to measure your results than a scale; I've had weeks where I don't lose any weight but I've lost inches. Measure your waist, thighs, arm, neck, bust, etc. once every couple weeks.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with needing medication to be healthy. I had mental health issues for years, and was finally diagnosed bipolar a few years ago. I've been on Lithium and Paxil ever since, and it's helped tremendously. In my opinion, the benefits of the medication far, far, far outweighs the stigma of being…

For the love of God, if you don't like what they're serving, don't go there. It's as freaking simple as that.

Anyone who does something like that really says far more about themselves than about you. The only people who do crap like that are people who are unhappy with themselves and can't figure out a way to fix that other than putting other people down. Just ignore them, they're not worth another second of your thoughts.
-
Well done! And I love the Tshirt idea, I might steal that.
-
Your best bet would be to buy a heart rate monitor.
-
So don't eat at Chipotle. Problem solved! Amazing!

I feel like nudity and yoga are two great things that would absolutely NOT go great together.

I have a Polar FT4, I paid $70 for it at Big5 Sports, but I think you can find them cheaper online. (I was feeling impatient so I didn't want to wait for it to ship!)
-
That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
-
Some people do want to be fat. There's a whole sexual fetish based on it. Just saying.
-
I think this is a great idea!

Maybe horrid *****iness retains water.

Teachers make next to nothing, have to buy their own school supplies, and have too many kids in all their classes. They're ALL frazzled this time of year. This particular teacher probably isn't like that all the time.
-
Have you taken your measurements to see if you're losing inches? Sometimes that can be a better estimate of progress if the scale isn't moving. Also, if your muscles are sore, they could be retaining water. Hang in there . . . you'll eventually see some progress.
-
I think couple joint accounts are so stupid. If you're so dependent that you can't even have your own Facebook, you have issues.
-
Agree.

MFP does tend to overestimate burns. I have an HRM, that's the only thing I trust to give a decent estimate of calories burned when I work out. Honestly, the FitBit doesn't monitor heart rate, so it's really just a pedometer IMO.
-
I wouldn't trust the accuracy of calories burned unless the device is monitoring your heart rate. I have a Polar FT4 heart rate monitor and I aboslutely love it.
