  • You are my Monday inspiration, thank you!! Awesome success!
  • Hashimotos here too! I have been dealing this for 14 months now and honestly it is still a struggle. In the beginning, it was actually recommended that I not exercise much at all. I limited my activity to just walking most days. Try to be patient with yourself, take some downtime and look at the weight gain as just a…
  • Definitely try to take your thyroid meds with nothing else. It was recommended for me to try taking it at 3-4 in the morning. I'm usually on a bathroom run around that time anyway. Apparently these meds work best on a completely empty system, earl in the day! I just completed c25k and lost nothing during this time period!
  • Yup, can totally relate!! I haven't gotten my mediation amount straightened out yet though, hoping to start a downward streak once that is worked out! I went 6 weeks earlier this year, staying between 1100-1300 a day and lost nothing!! So very discouraging! I wasn't exercising during this time, it seems I have to add…
  • A thing I forgot to mention...my nutritionist recommended adding hemp protein. This was to increase my protein a bit and also add a good source of fiber and omega 3's. Not sure if it is all in my head or not but I think I really feel better on the days I incorporate this! Usually I add it in early in the day because it is…
  • If you do see a nutritionist make sure it is someone with a background or additional education concerning the thyroid. The first nutritionist I saw recommended a few soy based products even though I told her I was hypothyroid and it is common knowledge of no soy products or goitrogens for thyroid patients! I asked at my…
  • Thanks for the feedback! I'm hoping I'll have a bit if time to dig around and find more info about milk thistle now. It has been a rough year for me as far as my thyroid goes. It has been a year now sice I have been diagnosed and my current numbers are now worse than when I started! I thnk it is very much stress related…
  • That is totally awesome!! You're my inspiration for the day!!
  • Lysine, is the questionable component from what I can tell?

  • I have hemp protein powder. I bought it to help increase my protein intake. When I purchased it I thought it was a complete protein source. Tonight while visiting at the nursing home, I was speaking with the dietician and she mentioned hemp is not a complete protein. Now researching, I'm reading some stating it is complete…

  • I do the same thing quite often! Quest bars are my favorite, filling and stay wth me awhile! Also I try to stash a small variety in my bag. Baby carrots, string cheese, nuts, dried fruit. All quick easy options to get me through the day!
  • I have an appointment coming up with a nutritionist that has experience with hypothyroid. Looking forward to this and hopefully I can get some answers and get pointed in the right direction! I was told that processed foods will be eliminated, caffeine will also be eliminated, and primary focus will be on high quality fat…
  • I was told to avoid all goitrogens and soy is a goitrogen. To my knowledge goitrogens suppress thyroid activity. The exact opposite of what I'm trying to do. I'm not far enough along in my treatment to start experimenting with what foods to keep yet, I'm just on the elimination side of thngs.
  • I usually take mine at about 2-3am. I typically get up at night for a bathroom run and just take them while I'm up and head straight back to bed for a few hours. I noticed a difference in energy levels as wel, When I switched my timing. I hear coffee and tea have a huge impact of your meds functioning correctly!
  • Glad you are here! You are going in the right direction of getting looser socks!!
  • Another good option is thinly slicing a sweet onion and sautéing that in a couple tablespoons of butter. After they are carmalized I pour in a couple cups of beef broth!
  • Awesome, wishing you all the best! I'm new to most of this as well. This week I'm making changes and lowering carbs and next week going strong! Kind of exciting :) I'll send you a friend request!
  • I'll check out the book, thanks for sharing! I cut down on my carbs several years ago and it helped me drop some pounds. Looking to do it again :)
  • I say make little changes and enjoy the progress. Start drinking your water. Maybe get out for a walk or two this week. Have a cookie, not 4. This is all making choices to improve your health. Try skipping heavy sauces or dips. Little by little can end up making a huge difference! Sending a friend request!
  • I start again everyday! Been a struggle this past year but I'm getting my eating bak on track now! Best of luck to ya!
  • I breathe in for 2 steps and breathe out for 1. Every 4 cycles I breathe in for 4 steps and out for 4 steps. I'm not real experienced but this is what I have found that works for me.
  • I was wondering about soda, what type of effect it would have! I don't drink it often but a couple times a month it is appealing! This week I think will be a bit of a transition week for me. I'm going to start heading the right direction but I don't have all my meals planned out yet and I need more quick grab items on…
  • Thanks for the advice, some great tips here! I'm traveling right now and am trying to set up a plan for when I get back to my regular schedule. Do any of you fit quest bars into your day? The carbs seems pretty low and fiber pretty high. Wondering if they work well while in keto?
  • I have found quest bars very helpful. I can't go too long between meals so these are great and hold you over when events keep your day off schedule. Sometimes i only need a third or half at a time. Very filling and even take off the sweet edge.
  • Glad you are on the mend!! Not sure if I have experienced an attack. I definitely have super tired points where I have no focus and can barely keep it together. I also have many restless nights and feel quite anxious. Hard to tell with daily lfe constantly having challenges. Am I experiencing attacks or is my body is just…
  • Wow Whimsywins what a challenge!! They say stress levels impact your thyroid greatly as well so I'm sure that is not helping your situation! I returned to lifting 3 weeks ago and I'm taking it slow. Seems these little injuries keep sidelining me! I get into a really good grove when I get exercise in regularly. It doesn't…
  • Yes, NewMe, I take armour. My Dr prefers it to synthroid. I don't have much to compare it too though because it was my first med and I only started it this past year. Something about it containing t3and t4 and my body needing both compared to the synthroid that only offers one.
  • Thanks or serving!! If Kraft cheese is your option I would probably not add that. Try to add a variety of fruit and veggies when it is an option. Send us an address!! Lets see if MPF can add some variety!
