  • Great work!! Nice dedication along with a superb reward!!
  • As a mother of teenagers some times I write them letters. When a sensitive subject comes up and we don't cover things completely or things turn emotional I let some time pass and then write a letter. At times this is very positive and talking about how proud of them I am, at times this is near a birthday or milestone.…
  • As far as I know with Hashimotos you can have more frequent swings with your thyroid. My first year of diagnosis I had blood draws every 10 weeks to try to get a decent reading of what my thyroid was doing. My doctor only made very small changes at at time though to try to avoid additional swings. By small I mean typically…
  • Good for you! We can never give up :)
  • We've had a Smooth Treadmill now for about 6 years. Had no issues and decent customer service. My husband is tall with a long stride so we were also looking to accommodate this. Many department store brands seemed to have much shorter belts.
  • I find that low fat and fat free options have a lot of additives and higher sodium. I don't think it is worth it to switch. I have a hard time finding full fat yogurt so usually buy reduced. I always buy full fat cheeses and sour cream. I find the taste better and more satisfying as well.
  • Those cupcakes sound amazing! I think I'm looking forward to a few trial baking sessions :)
  • There are also a couple groups for Hypothyroid, check them out!
  • Anyone is free to add me! Been diagnosed about 2 years now and just now finally starting to get control :) Hoping to start seeing some progress!
  • Sometimes I try to make goals for just a day! Especially if I have a hectic day or an odd schedule. If I accomplish sticking to my eating plan or getting my exercise in, I consider that a success. That is something that keeps me positive! Other times it is a week long goal, it might not even be weightloss related. Might be…
  • Interesting, hadn't thought of mixing my own blend! How do you store this? Fridge, Freezer? Tupperware, Mason Jar?
  • Thanks ladies! I'll check around for the Betty Crocker mix, don't think I have seen it yet! Will check out the Pamela products. . I wouldn't mind the trial and error so much if the products didn't cost so much! Also so many recipes require such an extensive list of flours that it would be quite the undertaking. Not to…
  • Does she have low B12 and vitamin D levels. Both of these seem pretty common in the Hypo/Hashi world. I noticed a difference adding both of these supplements.
  • This is tough for me too! Life is just stressful, even in a good way! I agree with the exercise route, find what works for you. Cycling is kind of a meditation for me. I get lost in my own world! Another thing mentioned to me was to watch caffeine levels. It basically causes an internal stress for the body.
  • I've been told that after you heal your gut you may be able to tolerate small amounts of gluten. I'm new to all this though, plenty to read and learn!
  • I used to be a huge green tea drinker however I have backed off some. I've had a hard time the past few years with my iron levels. My dr believes my tea is interfering with iron absorbtion. I can still drink it but not during meals or for a few hours after a meal.
  • Just a little side-track here.. I had a knee injury last year and my physical therapist advised against the eltiptical. He said it wasn't a natural motion while using the eltiptical and easy to injure the knee. I definitely think you are headed in a good direction to build strength. I would think with previous injuries it…
  • My doctor recommended me trying additional thngs before I started on meds. I backed off exercise for awhile. Also tried eliminating dairy and sugar to see if it helped me feel better. I wasn't sleeping great but was always exhausted. Also took out caffeine. It wasn't long though before I was feeling worse and my labs…
  • I went in for my appointment this week. My TSH is improving but I have been feeling awful. My T3 was also pretty low so she doesn't not think I am converting very well. My antibodies are also rising which may explain why I have been so fatigued and functioning in a daze. I'm trying something new, adding In LDN which is…
  • Oh my goodness, 7-8 years, that is awful and discouraging! I'm just coming up on 2 years with my diagnosis but I believe my problems started about 6 years ago. The past couple of years have been quite a struggle, trying to narrow down what helps and what makes things worse. This also affects me mentally, at times I'm very…
  • Hi Betti, I'm curious of your progress and reaction. This was just mentioned to me yesterday at an appointment and I've never heard about it before! My TSH is doing ok but my antibodies are increasing which is why it was recommended to me. I've also being feeling very drained and trouble focusing, etc. Just curious how it…
  • Did they check antibodies?
  • I actually bought a small iPod shuffle for this purpose exactly! It is super tiny and I can just clip it on my shirt or sleeve and be done with it! Please for the love of everything do not stick it in the back of you shorts! I keep watching this lady stick hers in the back of her shorts, seriously she might be using it as…
  • That is encouraging Twinkles! I don't think I'm at the correct dose yet. When I get an increase in meds I feel like I needed it for awhile and I only notice difference for a few days and then I'm right back where I started at feeling lousy!
  • RedBec-When you figure out how to keep the good times rolling please share!!! I'm slightly similar that I'll get about 3 days and I feel fantastic! Not sure what has changed, maybe all the vitamins kick in? Think I have absorbtion issues and every once in awhile things absorb correctly?
  • Home workouts? Before work or later at night? Maybe you guys can workout together! Fitnessblender.com has tons of free options!
  • What are hot chips?? Spicy potatoe chips?
  • Could this be related to your fat intake? I know fat is a necessary part of the diet especially for hormone regulation. Could you have cut almost all health fats with your clean eating? Maybe now your body is able to regulate a bit now that it is getting fats, granted the wrong type?
  • Your transformation is fantastic, so inspiring!!
  • Well, the positive is that you know you can do it!! Set up your plan and organize yourself and get back to losing!
