I've used weights for some of the moves in the strength dvds. I think it is comparable and you should do what makes you feel comfortable while still getting a good workout.

Fire 60/Abs 10 today - I should have done them yesterday, but went out for a drinks with the girls after work and was way too tipsy to exercise (& went way over my calories!) by the time I got home.
