What about sneezing??? I'm not a germaphobe, but when someone sneezes I just picture myself walking through that mist and I shiver. Gross. I've just made my stomach hurt.

You are seriously overthinking this and making it MUCH harder than it is. 1) You don't have to do machines every day. Pick a few days that are just cardio....treadmill or elliptical...Set a goal and then just do it. 30 hard minutes? Done. 45 hard minutes? Done. Then go home. 2) Decide if you are doing legs or arms. Either…

FANTASTIC! You are already such a confident person, you will be AMAZING when you are"fit and fab"! He better watch out...you'll be too hot to handle!

Sometimes you just have to do things that are just for you. I understand what you are saying, but once you get the hang of it you won't want to go without. It's okay to take 45-60 minutes a day for yourself. It really is. I think you should just keep at it. You and the kids will get used to the new schedule. If you adapt,…

^^THIS! I started the C25K and it really helped me get started and made me realize I could do anything I set my mind to. Personally, I prefer the running/walking intervals instead of straight running, but again that's just my preference. I run 5 minutes, walk 1 minute. I run 3 miles Tues/Thurs and 6 miles on…

That's a good idea. I'm a terrible cook so I haven't tried cooking with Kale, however I am OBSESSED with my juicer. I just kale every night.

That's great! That's the way to start any challenge...just by doing it! Yesterday it was 30 seconds. Next week it will be 45 seconds. Then a minute....and before you know it you will have signed up for a 5K! The best thing about exercise is YOU GET TO SET YOUR OWN BAR! That's fantastic and I'm really stoked for you!

You don't get your worth from your mother. She does not determine your value.

here's some of my playlist...

you go, girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think she is too thin, but she'll gain some weight back now that the finale has happened. She'll have to go back to real life and it will all measure out. But I think that there is a double standard happening. The movie stars, celebrities and models are idolized for their size 0 bodies, which they obtained via lettuce…

^^THIS. I had to buy new sports bras with padding b/c I was embarrassing my 16 y/o son. And yes, people do notice what you are wearing....like I notice how that girl wears tanks that are WAY TOO LOW and her giant fake boobs are pushed up under her chin like they are flotation devices and she's afraid the gym is going to…

It's awkward at first, that's true...but KEEP GOING. ASK QUESTIONS. If you don't know how to work the treadmill, ask. People are always happy to help. WIPE DOWN YOUR EQUIPMENT...this includes where your hands sweat all over the elliptical, treadmill. Head sweat. Crotch sweat. Leaving your equipment w/o wiping it down is…

^^^THIS. I do it b/c I'm committed. That's all there is to it.

You only have to work this shift for a few more days, so that won't last forever. I am really sorry about your friend. It's tough to deal with stress w/o emotional eating. Any little bit of exercise you can get right now will help you feel better emotionally and physically. Take a few flights of stairs at work, or a brief…

This IS a great site. That's how I knew about the back pain. Also, the deal with exercise is that even with the Da Vinci, your insides have to heal and running/exercise/heavy lifting and cause real problems with healing. So it's not that you won't FEEL like running, it's that you just have to wait until everything on the…

Had a hysterectomy last October. Left ovaries. Hysterectomy was done by Da Vinci robot. Easy peasy. Seriously. I have 3 tiny scars that you can barely see. I was up and around the next day. The only pain that I could have had was pain from the gas which builds in your back and shoulderblades. I had my husband constantly…

I've lost 31lbs and gone from a 14 to a 6. The honest truth is...it takes HARD WORK, denial and commitment. If I can do it, anyone can do it. You just have to want it bad enough.
-
It only gets harder. Remember that. If it's this hard now.......

That is so great! I love how your testimony is about working hard and eating right. You were dedicated and stuck to the basics. You look fantastic!!!! Well done!!!

Smile and nod b/c you never know...one day you may hear something that interests you. I have a coworker who gives me alot of advice. I ignore a lot of it, but yesterday he was telling me about a specific juicer...and we got in this long conversation where he educated me on all things juicer. I got on-line, checked it out…

Don't think of it as exercise! Think of it as challenging yourself. Challenge yourself to walk a mile...or do the elliptical hard for 15 minutes....or 20 minutes....just give yourself a challenge. Then when you have done it, you'll feel proud of yourself! When I started at the gym, I hated every single second. But by the…

My head isn't in the sand. The OP asked people for opinions about eating back calories. Some do. Some don't. I don't. If you want to, go right ahead. I don't and it's worked for me. In addition to not eating back my calories I go to they gym every day. I have hit my goal weight. I look a million times better than when I…

I've lost 30 lbs and have reached my goal weight, never plateaued and am maintaining, but if you want to say I did it "wrong", then okay.
-
Sure, I get that, but I'm still not doing it. One of the reasons I was overweight was because I ate when I didn't need to. Just because I have calories "available" doesn't mean I need to use them.

STRETCH. STRETCH. STRETCH. Also, running would make my hip hurt. It was very painful. After asking Dr. Google about it, I learned about some hip stretches that have helped me immensely. As an FYI, side planks are really good for stretching the hip muscles. I've been doing those every night (I'm not good at it, so if I can…

No. I work too hard to burn those calories so there is no way I'm eating them back.

"you know losing a lot of weight makes your face look older" so now I have to choose between being fat or looking old. Uh, thanks.
-
That made me laugh out loud!

If you want something bad enough, you'll make the time for it.
