NEVER EVER EVER. N.E.V.E.R.

EXACTLY! And have you noticed that it's the same people over and over...both men and women...who spend more time talking and less time working out? And the PHONE kills me. I get it if you get a call from your kid and you have to answer, but seriously...if you can have a long conversation with your bestie about what your…

This is the BEST success story I have read! You need to do some motivation speaking. You know, the Daily Mail always publishes stories about weight loss, but I've never read one as inspiring as yours. You are so awesome!

chopped salad w/ tuna. lettuce/spinach/pickles/tomatoes/tuna/salt/pepper....no cheese or dressing.

That's great!!!!! Be sure to stretch really well. Isn't it great when we do something we didn't think we'd ever do??? Keep it up!

YOU LOOK GREAT! You are a different person! What a great inspiration!

You look great!!!!!!!!! No worries.

I get it. I would feel the same way. HOWEVER....your dedication to your exercise program and general health makes you want to walk those extra 10 feet in the parking lot. Because his parents aren't doing the work you are doing, they don't have the drive you have. So, they may lose the weight...and they may lose it faster…

Ah thanks! Friend me if you want a cheerleader.

^THIS. You don't even have to register for anything just yet. Start with run/walk intervals of running 5 minutes/walking 2 minutes, then build to 5/1. THEN register for a 5K. If you like it, do another. And another. And then think about a half-marathon. Arrange success, not frustration.

I totally agree. I only get 1200 calories a day and anything more than that I've had to sweat buckets for. Fast food is not worthy of my calories.

ha ha! That's so funny! Yes, I just HAD to have this belt and now it's too big. I'm past the holes and am now using the braiding. My mom gave me a giftcard to Macy's for Christmas. Guess I need to buy a belt! Thanks so much, ya'll! I could not have gotten this far w/o MFP and the forum! Next time I post pics they will be…

49 y/o and have lost 29 lbs. I've gone from a size 14 to an 8. My goal is a 6. I'm getting close! Feel free to friend me.

"But as the scale dipped lower and the compliments on my weight-loss wore off, something else emerged: I felt exhausted, disappointed and still unhappy." This quote speaks volume. It sounds like she was losing b/c she felt like she was supposed to? Or because she wanted the approval of others? The only way a lifestyle…

WOW!! That is so great! Good for you! You worked hard and were dedicated and reaped the reward. And excellent job on the marathon!!!

I LOVE your story! This is a mental journey....it's about choosing our happiness and finding our motivation and you totally nailed that. Your post should be required reading!

I found 30 Day Shred at Costco for $7.99, so I scooped it up. I did day 1 of Level 1 yesterday and made it through! My 16 y/o son was watching so he could support me (aka laugh at me) and he said, "Mom...working out makes you angry!" I suppose my cussing all the way through would give him that impression. :ohwell: I could…

Keep it simple is GREAT advice...and log into MFP EVERY DAY! That's great advice. My additional advice....realize that losing weigh is HARD WORK and requires DEDICATION and DENIAL. If you are willing to do the work, you will see results!

Yup, he did it too. He works out all the time and does a lot of cardio so he's in better shape than me. He could have smoked me, but he hung back most of the time. He's not as giddy about it as I am, and refused to wear a tutu, but there's always next time....

You can totally do it! I have NEVER EVER run before. I only started MFP in July and only went to the gym so I could eat more. And now I'm there at least 5 days a week and I don't hate it anymore! I really like it and have become kind of obsessed. I never ever thought I could run before, but I've been practicing on the…

Yea!! Thanks! It was so much fun! The only people I passed were walkers and I thought...."well, I won't be last...". My husband told me I run too slow and that I'm using more energy running slow. That if I take longer strides I will be more efficient. I think I'll just be more tired, but I'm gonna try this on the treadmill…

So I guess I'm the turtle in this race....I walk at a 4 and "run" at a 5, incline of 1. I figure that is a success considering I walked through the front doors of the gym in the first place, then stepped on the treadmill and turned the sucker on. That's half the battle! The fact that I make it 3 miles without throwing up…

every day and log in as my weight decreases.

No. A cheater is never satisfied.
-
WOW!!!!!!!!! I've never seen one of these before! That is totally awesome!!! OP, in regard to your question, I say do whatever works. I think cardio is important and you may be able to loose even more if you increase your cardio, but if your current rate of weight loss is fine with you, then stick to it. Give yourself a…

Well, the 20 y/o's I know are still in college. They haven't begun their careers yet and $$ is not something they have an excess of. And the point was.....she is YOUNG. And does not have enough $$ to pay CASH, hence her original post about a hefty credit card debt. So I don't think we are talking about your friends.…

Running hurts me too, but I do it anyway. Sometimes when I get out of bed I feel like a sack of broken bones. So, now I run once or twice a week, instead of every other day. On my off days I use the elliptical b/c it's not as hard on my bones. And I've started taking glucosamine with MSM and that has helped some of the…
