  • I am happy that I made 3 miles in 40 minutes last night!
  • No big deal. In September we went to a Brazilian steakhouse for my husband's birthday and I ate soooo much and topped it off with the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that I've ever had. I must have consumed a million calories that day. But, it was one day. I didn't weigh for 5 days after that b/c I didn't want to…
  • grilled fish or shrimp with veggies or salad with dressing on the side and then don't dump all of the dressing on your plate. Water or tea. I went out to lunch on Saturday and had grilled salmon with pesto. I did eat all of the rice (and it was soooo wonderful), but drank tea and passed on birthday cake later. I still lost…
  • I haven't read through 12 pages of responses so maybe this has been asked....are you drinking enough water? I find that when I become lax with my water intake, that my weight loss slows down.
  • I eat a lot of the same stuff b/c I'm a terrible cook. If you look at my diary, it's basically the same stuff over and over. I don't mind that b/c I HATE IT when I spend time making something new and it turns out terrible. If I was a better cook I'd be all over trying new recipes, but for me....I stick with what I can do.
  • Ya'll are walking faster than I run! I feel like a turtle reading these posts. Ya'll are amazing!
  • Well, I "ran" outside last night. It's definately more difficult to run outside, but you're right, it is nicer. The sidewalk around the lake is 1 mile so that means 3 trips around the lake. By the time my C25K 30 mintues were up, I wasn't quite 2 times around the lake, so I'm definately slow. I was going to go a 3rd time…
  • Ya'll have me so psyched! I'm totally going to do the Biggest Loser race on Jan. 12th. Beaumont is about an hour away and we have an RV, so I've already booked a spot at a nearby state park so we can come down that Friday and chill and then go to the race/walk/crawl that Sunday. I'm commited!!!! Tomorrow I'll let you know…
  • League City
  • Good point. I'm on a treadmill at the gym b/c I don't want to run in 1000% humidity, or in the dark, or where people will drive by and see me and think "damn right that girl needs to run!". Today is one of my C25K days, so I suppose I will take you up on your advice and do it outdoors. There's a nice running path that goes…
  • Thanks, ya'll! And look at THIS race I found... http://www.biggestloserrunwalk.com/Beaumont_TX-Half-Marathon-5K-2014#raceday This one is on my birthday and how fun would it be to run in a Biggest Loser race!! This one is past my 9-week goal, so I should hopefully be prepared. It would be pretty cool to be able to run a 5K…
  • Wait, what??? You can't be happy for your friend b/c she's going to be a pastry chef? Seriously? Pastries aren't causing obesity! Gluttony causes obesity! Pastries are cool! Eating an entire cake is not cool. I was overweight because I ate too much. It's not Nabisco's fault I ate way too many Oreos! It's MY fault! And now…
  • Is there any room left?
  • My weight loss has slowed since starting C25K. Before starting this, I did 3 miles on the elliptical everyday and that took about 30 minutes. I'm only on week 2 of C25K, but while it's 30 minutes on the treadmill, I'm not logging as many miles (2 miles in 30 minutes) and my pace is slower...and then there are the walking…
  • Double stuffed Oreos! My ultimate favorite! Brownies, with icing. M&M's....especially the peanut butter ones Ice cream with chocolate syrup.
  • Elliptical and weights. My son goes with me on my off days, so I limit the elliptical to 2 miles (20 minutes) so we can do the weights. He does the elliptical with me, so I do the weights with him. I've noticed that since I've cut my cardio short that my weight loss has slowed down, but it's worth the mother-son bonding…
  • I'm 48 and have NEVER run before. Just the thought of running made me tired. Now I'm on W2D5. That's still early days, but I'm proud of myself. I too run on the treadmill. I don't have enough confidence to run outside yet. There is a track around a nice lake near my home, but it's just too intimidating to try. At least in…
  • You're regretting 20 SECONDS of walking??? You should be so FREAKIN PROUD of yourself! WOW! I'm on W2D5 and I would end up walking the whole thing! If I was there with you, I'd be high-fiving you like crazy. And to think, 20 seconds of walking and you felt terrible! You are way too hard on yourself. First of all...you…
  • I'm on week 2 and so far, so good! Friend me and we can be accountability partners!
  • as they roamed naked on
  • My husband and I were both out of shape. Then we began working out and we both improved. Then I stopped. He continued. He has bulked up and has become strong and looks good. I gained wait. As he looked better, I looked worse. But he never made me feel bad about it. He always told me I looked good, even though I knew…
  • I think the initial poster noted some very real concerns. I'm not paranoid, but I do try to be smart. I wouldn't post my jogging course on line or leave my water bottles behind. When I go out of town, I don't notify everyone on Facebook. When I get back, sure! Before I leave, no. Unfortunately, safety is a real concern and…
  • Nope. I will not be eating any Halloween candy. One piece is NEVER enough and one I get started I won't want to quit. I've worked too hard to slide down that slippery sloap. I'll stick with my diet ice cream and stay focused on my goal.
  • You don't even look like the same person!! Good for you! You look GREAT!!!!!!!!
  • Miley Kim Kartrashian Kanye Tom Cruise Oprah Lindsey/Dina Lohan Paris Hilton The Sister Wives and their gross husband Snookie (her 15 minutes are about up) Courtney Stodden I'm ashamed that I know way too much about these people....
  • When I first started MFP, there were 2 things that stuck with me and made all the difference. 1) I received a great piece of advice, which was "Don't be afraid to be hungry". I don't live in a 3rd world country. I know where my next meal is coming from. As such, I don't have to run for a snack everytime my belly begins to…
  • I love cake! and oreos...and brownies...and ice cream..... and ding dongs, etc...so I feel your pain. Pick up a bag of Quaker Oats popped. I snack on these when I want something sweet and I'm trying to avoid high fat snacks. You have to be careful to not eat the entire bag, but if you pull out about 13 of them, that's a…
