  • With the fact that you have had problems with an eating disorder before it would probably be best for you to go see your doctor and get a referral to a certified nutritionist. This would probably be better than hearing a lot of different opinions on this site.
  • Day 1 complete. I really thought I was in better shape. It hurts my arms just to type this right now. lol. That's okay it will be worth it. I agree that Jillian is my new best friend/enemy.
  • I would suggest you start looking at some of the people's diary's that are open that have posted above. They may give you some more ideas of how to reach your calorie and protein goals. Also how long have you been doing the program. It may be as an earlier poster stated that your body just isn't used to the appropriate…
  • Yogurt would be a great grab it quick snack. Especially if you get yogurt higher in protein. I would also check some of the Kashi products. Even if they have more than 100 calorie in them they tend to be good quality calories and lots of feeling fiber.
  • I'm proud that although I was feeling really lazy today I got my butt up and went for my walk instead of putting it off. I also went to the mall and tried on some pants and I have lost another pants size.
  • Thanks everyone. That's where my thinking was, but wanted to get a few more opinions. I hardly ever drink fruit juice as I would rather eat the fruit. Less calories and more filling than the juice.
  • I would definitely say Classic Rock. I had a wake up call the other day that was scary. I was looking for videos on youtube from some of my favorite bands from the late 80's and early 90's. The comments from other people were stuff like, "i love old school music." I was like "old school" I'm only 34.
  • There is a group started called October 30 day shred - Jillian Michaels, for anyone who wants to join. We are all starting on October 1st. Just go to the groups tab and search for October 30 day shred.
  • Thanks! Look forward to talking to you on Monday!
  • Hi. My name is Stephanie and I live in KY. I'm 34 and recently divorced. I hit my heaviest right before the divorce was final and decided I needed to get healthy and fit. I started losing weight on my own and then started MFP 3 weeks ago. I'm excited to do the 30 day shred. I need an accountability buddy if anyone is still…
  • Just try drinking the water at room temperature if you don't want to put anything in it. If you are drinking tap water just feel up a glass or water bottle and leave it sitting out for a bit before drinking. If you buy bottled water just don't refrigerate it. This way you are getting your water, but it shouldn't make you…
  • Just make sure you are getting the nutrients you need. A lot of good vitamins and minerals come from fruit. As long as you watch your portion fruit is not that bad and you do need some sugar in your diet and fruit sugars are better than processed sugar. As far as milk goes, I really need the calcium so I switched to Almond…
  • they have the individual packs of peanut butter that you could use as a dip for things like pretzels or pita chips. There is also diced fruit in individual cups that don't have to be refrigerated. Just make sure that it is packed it light syrup or water. If you can take a lunch bag or cooler but don't have ice packs there…
  • The best healthy brownies that i have had have zucchini, bananas, and applesauce in them. I got the recipe off of pintrest. I love them.
  • I grew up and live in Lexington, was born in Pike County, and lived in Erlanger for 6 years. I try to walk at the UK Arboretum almost every day so if anyone in the area would like to get a walking group started with me that would be great.
  • How many calories are we talking. If you can give me a range, I can give some ideas. Also my food diary is open to the public so feel free to take a look.
  • One of my all time favorite things.
  • A serving for most sauces are about 1/4 cup, so my suggestion would be to find out how many calories are in 1/4 cup and then determine how much of that you actually eat. For marinades I would think that for prepackaged store bought marinades the serving size would be 1 tbsp. like steak sauce or ketchup is. Even though you…
  • The biggest thing that helped me stay full was eating smaller meals more often. I try to eat around 6 times a day. This way I feel like I am eating more than usual but still staying in my calorie range. Also eating more fiber and protein helped to make me feel full longer.
  • Huge Steelers fan! I cheer for anyone playing against the Patriots or the Cowboys. For college I'm a huge UK fan. GO BIG BLUE!
  • You just have to keep in mind that calories aren't everything. While I don't think the corn flakes are a bad choice as long as you don't add sugar too them (which I have to in order to eat them) the oatmeal has more fiber and protein which will help you stay full and satisfied longer. Plus, I personally feel more satisfied…
  • What is your daily calorie goal and how many of those do you want to spend on dinner?
  • I agree. Dancing is a great way to get cardio and if you are doing it in the privacy of your own place you don't have to worry if you don't think you are a good dancer.
  • hummus and veggies. 2 tbsp of hummus is just 70 calories and goes great with most veggies.
  • I know a lot of people stay away from baked potatoes because of the carbs but for those of us who love them, be careful at restaurants. I know for a fact that Texas Roadhouse roll their potatoes in bacon grease and salt before baking them.
  • Hi! My name is Stephanie. I'm a 34 year old from Kentucky. I have had issues with my weight for a long time and I have dieted in the past and lost it then gained it all back plus some. I joined MFP three days ago and am really enjoying it so far. I have really like keeping track of my food and exercise as well as the blog…
  • The only thing I could recommend would be to check your diary for your sodium intake. Just make sure that its in a good range because that can affect the scales. Other than that I agree with everyone else, it sounds like you are making good progress. Keep up the good work!
  • I travelled for work for 6 years and I feel your pain. I either got bored of eating the exact same thing so it would be healthy or I ate way too many calories when I couldn't handle another grilled chicken meal. Some suggestions: Texas Roadhouse - 6 oz Sirloin, Side Salad, and Veggies. This would definitely be your biggest…
  • I think healthier lunches at school are a great idea, and I don't think you are a snob for thinking so. I mean you are not telling her to never let him have those foods, just that they shouldn't be served in a school. I was a very picky eater as a kid and my parents didn't force me to eat something I didn't like. However,…
  • I love to travel. I go on vacations and take tons of pics that I share on facebook with my friends. Over the past few years I knew I had gained some weight, but still thought I looked okay and wasn't ashamed to post the pics of myself on facebook. This year I went to Hawaii. I had a great time and took tons of pics. When I…
