I weigh in once a week and record that weight.

Yeah, what she said

One race I do every year has on the back of the shirt--"I sure hope someone is behind me reading this"...it makes me laugh 'cause it is exactly what I think.

Both mine wanted an ipod touch--so we splurged on those. My seven year old boy LOVES (and I mean loves...it is crazy) Skylanders, so we got him the new Skylanders Giants game and a few figures. My 10 year old daughter loves Hunger Games (which I found a bit disturbing but she really didn't--telling me it's fiction--and I…

I have gotten several "rip offs" for my daughter (the UGG with skinny jeans is big here in Iowa which I'm ok with), and she trashed them. I probably would have saved money by getting the UGG. There may be a higher quality rip off than I got her--she's 10--and I just couldn't stomach spending UGG money when her foot is…

I will go to great lengths to maintain as much privacy in the potty as I can...if there is someone else in the bathroom...I will wait until they leave if I can. If I can't, then I will coat the toilet with toilet paper prior to "going" in an effort to mute any sound effects.

I get discouraged sometimes too...last time I seriously tried to get fit and lose weight it seemed to come off much more quickly. BUT, since then I have had two children, aged 15 years, and the weight is much slower this time. I am losing about 1lb a week, but my fitness and overall health has greatly improved. Since I'm…

Love my Tinkerbell (aka Stinkerbell). She is a 5 year old siamese that we adopted from a shelter when she was 1ish. She's the sweetest, cuddliest, chattiest cat I've ever had. She loves my husband to pieces...which irks me some...but she loves the rest of us too. I just love having her on my lap in the winter :)...so cozy.…

You should not have pain after running in shoes...in my experience, breaking in may take away some of the tightness in a shoe and make them more comfortable, but pain tells me you are in the wrong shoe. Check out www.roadrunnersports.com and do their "shoe dog".

Hello! I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Helen, and I'm a 42 year old mom of two wonderful kiddos, a boy aged 7 and a girl aged 10. I have a fabulous husband, and I work full-time+ as in-house counsel to a financial services firm. So, pretty busy. The last several years have been pretty…

I have one boy (7) and one girl (10) and both get pretty dirty--interestingly enough in different ways :). My son is all grub from running around, sliding on his knees, his food is all over his mouth (usually) because he wolfs it down to get back to said running around, sliding, and rabble rousing. My daughter is clean…

Good for you! Hopefully, they have learned their lesson! I agree with everyone though...super proud of you for just doing your thing, taking the high road, and carrying on!!

Thanks! So it's pretty limited then...and my guess is sugar of other sorts could also be linked? Say if I ate skittles twice a week...not that I do...

I just made skinnytastes's taco chicken chili (I think that's what it's called) and it's SUPER yummy AND has beans for extra protein. It's two cans of diced tomatoes, one small can tomatoe sauce, one taco seasoning packet, kidney beans, garbanzo beans (well whatever beans you like), chili powder, cumin...I added garlic and…

My issue with most studies like this is the causal link...how can they isolate diet soda as the culprit...

What if you have to run away from Zombies?

It is addictive :)...I absolutely love the feeling of finding that pace that I can do for a LONG time, and just relaxing into it...it's my therapy, and lordy knows I need it :)

Sent a request--look at you go making friends and influencing people. Runners unite!

Ah, this must be why I got "you are lovable". HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
-
Not really a dump per se, but I told a guy I loved him, and he said "you are lovable". OUCH!!

I am a total morning person, and love working out in the morning, BUT, it is much harder for me when the weather is cold. Still do it, but it takes more coaxing. I run outside, so its just the initial blow, then I'm fine.

I can see cheekbones and dimples again :) My pants are loose (and so much more comfortable) I look forward to waking up and exercising I have not eaten one peice of candy from my kids Halloween stash. Last year I think I ate most of it. I get a full tummy much sooner, and do not like the feeling of overeating--I know I can…

I drink it--I have for many years--my teeth are good, and I have not died yet. I do not blame diet soda for my weight, although I would like to.

HOLY MACKERAL! You look AMAZING--60lbs AND you quit smoking--my hero!! Seriously, you have totally motivated me to keep going!!
-
You definitely motivated me :)...thank you. You look amazing--what a great job!

Are they saying that Jared is a liar--what about Jillian Michaels--those sports guys I don't know but who say it's good for you :)...I like the veggie sub with avocado..it is tasty for when I do not have time to pack. If I pack a sandwich, I also pack processed meat...so I'm not sure what the diff is...and their bread…

That is awesome--you totally are a runner with all the latest scoop :). HUGS!

Thanks for adding me!!! I am here every day, and I do have quite a bit to lose :). But, once I get there, I plan to learn how to maintain it :) so I don't have to lose again...I think this site is awesome for that too. I guess I'm slowly learning how many calories everything has and how much I burn doing different…
