  • Thanks for adding me and welcome to MFP!! I really love it. I've always been good at exercise, but horrible at overeating. Although not perfect, the tracking tools help me an awful lot!!!
  • I'm on every day and still determined to lose weight after 7 weeks :). I want to get down to at least 150! Please add me--
  • I was not losing for a while, and I added a new exercise to my routine which seemed to help a lot. I added Ripped in 30 three days a week, and then I run the other days (with one rest day). I think it helped b/c although I try to log correctly, I think I'm not always the best. It gave me a little more wiggle room, and I…
  • You look FABULOUS!! Great work!!!
  • I think you look fabulous, and it's great that you have self-esteem at what ever weight. I'm 179 and 5'3, and at least for me, it's hard to do what I want and need to do at this weight. It's just a lot to carry around, especially on a small frame. I remember back to when I was 135 or so, and I just moved better. Plus, I'm…
  • In my neighborhood, we have TONS of kiddos. If the whole family is out trick or treating, we leave the candy outside with a sign as to how many peices they may take (we said 3, others said 2). It takes about an hour to get around the neighborhood, and almost everyone goes between 5:30 and 7:30. If you don't want…
  • Check out RoadRunnerSports.com--they have a good tool for finding the right shoe for you based upon weight, mileage, and pronation. They have high to low cost options. Even if I buy shoes elsewhere, I check here to see that I'm in the right shoe. They also have reviews from customers, which I find super helpful because…
  • I go to bed at 9:30-10:00. Up at 5:00.
  • I get up at 5:00 every morning during the week. I do this even if it's a "rest" day. I find that helpful. I do allow myself to sleep in a bit on the weekend, but still do my exercise first thing. So, it's just become habit. It is harder on some mornings than others, but it's just what I do now. My husband hates exercising…
  • I'm a working mom of two kids, and I struggle...must be twice as hard with four. I also get up early to get my exercise in, and sometimes try to fit in a walk at lunch. I do sometimes wish I didn't have a desk job, but short of a career change, much of my day will continue to be spent on my butt. I'm sending a friend…
  • One I can recall is my former MIL asking me if I had stretch marks when she came to visit her new grandaughter. I said no...I didn't get any, and she said that was because I was already fat so my skin had stretched. WTF???!!!
  • I was on paxil for 3 years, then off for 5, then back on for 7. I stopped taking it about 3 months ago. To be honest, I was quite thin for the first 3 years on it, then put on weight with my children (the 5 years off), and then really packed it on the last 4 years. I truly don't think it had anything to do with the…
  • I had panic attacks in my late 20's. It felt as if my skin were burning, could not get enough air, and could not slow down. I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression. I started taking medication, which helped, but I could not take it when pregnant, so I stopped. I was actually ok once I had my kiddos until my divorce, and…
  • I have been considering my exercise calories as wiggle room or insurance. I'm not sure my calories are 100% accurate since I don't weigh food and eat out sometimes, so the exercise just makes me feel better if I may be going over my daily calories. I'm starting to run a bit more now, and my long runs are about an hour...I…
  • My level of respect for a nutritionist or a trainer is based upon their education, knowledge and how they are able to help me reach my goals. My willingness to listen to said trainer/nutritionist is based upon the level of respect they show me and others in performing their professional responsibiltiies. So, it has very…
  • I haven't lost as much as you, but I do notice a loser fit up top and in my bum...but my stomach has not seemed to budge much so far.
  • Have you tried Ripped in 30? Jillian Michaels has done wonders for my upper body and I noticed improvement in 2 weeks.
  • Oh I am so sorry you have to deal with this...you are doing an amazing job! I also get comments, looks, etc...I'm about the same size as you, and I've been running for about 5 years. The truth is, you are SO much better than those idiots, but I'm like you, I'd love to teach them a lesson. I guess I've learned that I never…
  • I kind of agree that if you want a shake, there may be better ways to make one than slim fast. I'm not a drink a meal kind of person, but I have watched shows where they put together some pretty amazing looking concoctions.
  • Got a call from the school that my 7 year old son plugged the sink at school, turned on the water, and then went on his merry little way...UGH! Sorry seems inadequate...
  • I don't give my husband a hard time about not drinking, but he doesn't and I do occassionally. He doesn't like the taste, and he doesn't like the way drunk people behave. Sooooo, I'm guessing your friends might feel like your choice not to drink may reflect badly on their choice to drink...and perhaps they are justifying…
  • My weekends are full of them :(...usually b/c I know I ate crap but can't really describe it. Example--ate my son's left over french fries--one or two I would not record, but really, I ate them all...who does that...me.
  • I'm 42, and work full time, have two VERY busy kids, a fabulous husband...and yes, it is hard to find time for me. The last five years, I out ate all the good I did exercising...I'm glad I did exercise or I fear I'd be GINORMOUS. Would love to connect and support other working moms out there... Helen
  • I didn't know he had any, so thanks!! I will look for these.
  • Yes, I was fat. I remember vividly not wanting to get weighed every year in school, and I think I hit 100lbs in 3rd grade. Terribly traumatic.
  • I have to say my upper body is looking quite good...some definition there, not so much arm flab when waving...small victory...the belly and hips will take some time...there is a lot of pudge there...so from the waist up, I am rockin' it :)

  • Turkey, 2% cheese, wheat tortilla--put in microwave for 1 min--yummy
  • Hello! Welcome to MFP! I am very motivated to lose weight, but I'm trying to do it sensibly so that I can maintain. I've lost TONS of weight over the years, only to gain it back again. I'm losing, and I don't feel super deprived, so I'm hoping this is a keeper. I truly do like to exercise...it's eating that is my downfall.…
  • Advice that my dear husband gave me when I started running (and he had run a marathon so he would know) --relax into your run. It is amazing how much this has helped me. I used to tense up so much I got SUPER sore...if I remind myself to relax into it and not push, I do much better.
