Flatlndr, congratulations on the weight loss by the way. Good for you, you could be the next James Bond. :D

Actually, I think your post is pretty cool also. :) and I agree.

Well we have all heard lots of different opinions on "is a Calorie a Calorie?" So this is the opinion of Elle Penner, M.P.H., R.D., is the Registered Dietitian and Food & Nutrition Editor at MyFitnesssPal, as well as an active runner and food-enthusiast. "As the dietitian for MyFitnessPal, I’m often asked, “Is a calorie a…

What a great story. Good for you. :D

I like this post and wish I had read it before I mindlessly ate a packet of jelly beans whilst reading a book. They were left by my son and were just sitting there begging me to eat them. Gosh when I looked at the calorie count they were more than what I had for breakfast.

First of all, stop thinking of yourself as a failure as you have made a great start already. Keep logging and identifying the problem areas. Yes you are eating a great deal of sugar. Replace those foods with better choices. Increase your protein by eating more chicken, meat and fish. I see you eat fruit and vegetables,…

Things have certainly changed. My family has scattered so it won't be happening this Easter. They were good times when the children were young. I used to spend hours making up a map with clues for the kids to follow Easter morning. I have kept a few of the maps and will try them out on my grandchildren, if I ever get any!!…

We used to always do the Easter get-together with the family and everyone would be told not to bring any Easter presents "just a small egg for the basket in the centre of the table." Well you should have seen that basket, it would be brimming with chocolate eggs. :D

I always find chocolate is self limiting as it gives me a massive headache. Love chocolate but always try and buy a really good brand and only have a little bit of it. Trying to think back to when my kids were little because they had a heap of Kinder surprises. I'm assuming they were over three. :p My memory is mostly of…

Did you also keep a copy of the apology?
-
Nony, I never used those words. Look at the sentence - "she should be more sick," if I used those words I would have written "she would be sicker." That was not the sentence I used. My words were different and written out of concern at the time and were not written in malice. Because the thread has been deleted and in…

When they are on holidays, of course they do! Amusing but true!

OMG when will you all stop this stupid nonsense and trying to discredit me. What is with that??? And the story stands because it is true. I do not have to explain my house guests to anyone. I often have important people stay with, mostly because they are family. The story sounds stupid because that is what happened but I…

Who entertains at breakfast, isn't it every man for himself. :p They are medical people and they were intrigued by some of the thinking on MFP.

Sorry no, the care factor is extremely low at the moment as we both know it will be a waste of time.
-
MrM, please look very carefully at your posts and perhaps you will see that it is you that is keeping the issue alive and I am unsure what your motives are.

Those couple of "friends" as you so charmingly put it, are quite frankly over qualified for the task I gave them.
-
Are you all out of your fricking minds over this report thing?? Do you honestly think I would recreate a person's diary, entry for entry, day by day, month by month when I don't even log my own food!! Let me tell you all a little story. Take two house guests, one a Professor and one a Doctor, sitting around having…

Just thought I would check in, and here you both are. What a surprise!! I have my family around at the moment, laughing, drinking and having fun and I suggest very strongly that you do the same. Get a life and leave me alone. Thanks for that, I can honestly say I didn't flag you but no discussion tonight please!! Maybe…

Tincanonastring, you wrote "We're too busy with work to explore the connection between paleo and gluten when pressed on the subject, but not too busy to flag silly gifs. Got it." Yes it is a sad fact of life, some of us have to go to work and I was not about to call in sick in order to reply. As for you getting flagged, it…

I'm time poor at the moment as I have to get to work. Hooroo

Mamapeach, buy a good Paleo recipe book and you will understand. The food is awesome, fresh, vital and energising. Love it, love it, love it!!! Tonight we are having roast lamb, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, parsnips, brussel sprouts with bacon & garlic with fresh herbs from the garden. All Paleo, all yummy. If you took the…

Fight over the last slice, definitely but never about apple pie. I agree 99.9%, apple pie is for happiness and love and maybe the USA but certainly Aussie and as long as we have grannies, we will always have a great apple pie. Don't we all stand now for the national anthem?.lol
-
OMG finding a good bakery is easy. We have some awesome bakeries here and the smell is enough to drive you nuts. But sadly, all use wheat and are not gluten free and I suffer badly if I eat it. Hence, the reason I follow a Paleo style diet. It suits me. :)

My poor old granny is dead and her recipe died with her so I chose a RANDOM recipe of a homemade apple pie. Not rocket science that one. I will leave you to buy it and test it out and compare it to a homemade apple pie and then we will see who uses the word "horrible." I don't eat wheat and only eat fresh ingredients where…

400 calorie donut eaten 10 years ago makes no difference to Paleo in any shape or form. lol

I looked at one day and in reality you had a muffin and a Dr Pepper for breakfast, skipped lunch, had a 1/2 cup of Rice-A-Roni, 2 oz Chicken Breast, 1/4 cup of large butter beans, 35gms mixed vegetables for dinner and for snacks, 24 pretzels, 1 oatmeal cookie, 32gms Special K. I would be starving at the end of that day and…
