When I'm working day shift, I get up at 4am to work out. I always find that those workouts are lackluster, but I suck it up and do it anyway as I work a 12 hour shift and know, that by the time I get home, I won't have the time or motivation to workout. I much prefer working out, when I'm on midnight shift or on days off,…

MFP definitely works! I'm 48 and have lost 41 pounds. I'm currently in maintain/build mode and tracking the calories has been HUGE! I still use it daily. Just a thought, but perhaps a couple of the reasons that guys don't seem more active on here is....1. For many of us, the journey is a more personal thing. 2. There does…

Southern Ontario ( Woodstock area ) About 2 feet - we just finished digging out today.

Yep, if you eat good on a regular basis, there's no reason why you can't indulge yourself, for one evening. Enjoy the experience Nothing at all wrong with a little self indulgence once in a while. You won't be derailed

http://www.smartlivingnetwork.com/eating-healthy/b/the-sodium-potassium-partnership/ If you're interested, here is a good article ( one of many ) on the sodium/potassium partnership.

At this point - being in maintain/build mode - more than anything, I keep an eye on my sodium/potassium levels. I always try and come in under the max. daily sodium level and go over in potassium. Failing that, I make sure that my potassium levels are always higher than my sodium intake Second is calorie intake....I need…

I hate the second last piece of bread at either end of the loaf......it feels gross, can't eat it unless it's toasted.

Just to add to the other good comments.....it's hard to determine calorie burn for lifting, as you continue to burn long after you're finished. I'm in maintain/build mode right now - as I hit my desired weight a while back - but still use the MFP counter as a rough guide. However, what's happening to my body is a better…

The Killing Fields. I saw it when I was 15. It made me sit up and really take notice of the world - politics, war, human nature and the evils that men do - grew up a lot in those 2 hours or so. I still think it's the greatest historical movie ever made.

A handful of almonds will do the trick - great for you, in a lot of ways. If it has to be something sweet, have a couple of dates, figs or 5 or 6 dried apricot pieces.

My family is what motivated me. I love them and wouldn't mind sticking around for a while, to watch my kids and grand kids grow and spend some quality 'old people time' with my wife afterwards

My trick is to up my workout when I know I'm going to eat out. I look at it as a treat and try not to get caught up too much in the calorie count. I figure if your going to eat out you may as well indulge a little, because frankly most of what's worth eating is loaded with calories. As long as you're eating healthy at…

Almonds, Almonds, Almonds....or some other nut.....or Almonds! I'm kind of a champion of the almond as you can see :-) This little wonder nut ( seed ) has become the go to snack for my wife and I, for about a month now. We eat a hand full ( 28 grams is roughly 165 calories ) every day. You can read countless articles on…

Most comedy/romantic comedies. They usually devolve into bathroom humor and predictability. I don't even waste my time anymore.
