I am 21 and want to lose 80-100 pounds (well, 50-80 pounds now - woo!). I'll request you and I welcome any other friends in similar situations!

I don't log iced tea because I don't put anything else in it. It's water, in my mind. I also don't log spices. That's it! Everything else gets logged.

I'm a major Trader Joe's enthusiast. :) There was a thread about it a few months ago, here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/804494-trader-joe-s-ideas I'll just copy/paste my thoughts with a few updates… For snacks, I love their kettle corn, wasabi peas, peanut butter & oats bars, lentil and potato curls, sea salt…

Is the kid in your signature yours? I guarantee that he/she costs me more money in taxes than me being fat costs you, considering I have had ONE health problem in my entire life. Please get off (better yet, fall off) your high horse. Regarding your first (and equally unbelievably stupid) post, luckily, I am not asking for…

This is why I engage very little in the forums here and mostly use MFP for the tools. The rampant body shaming is just so disheartening. The only body you need to worry about is yours. You have no right to an opinion about anyone else's. No, not even if you're just ~worried about their health, because let me tell you,…

John Mayer. You never get past a John Mayer concert.

I bought a cheap $5 one that was manual, and it was fine but a bit difficult to use with some things. Got a digital one for Christmas and I am in LOVE. I weigh everything. EVERYTHING.

Yep. 25 pounds worth of success. :)

This reminds me of part of an Andrea Gibson poem - Every night, I drove through Kansas with I swear to God, a pink barrette in my f*cking pocket in case I had to split second decide if woman would be safer armor than this when his flashing blue lights give me ten seconds to pick what target he’ll be less likely to miss…

Nothing is stopping queer people from being queer in public except nasty glares, verbal harassment, refusal of service and, you know, sometimes physical assault and death. No big. It may not be expressly against the written law, but it certainly violates social law.

Every day is a straight pride parade. Heterosexual people dominate every single aspect of our society and are allowed and encouraged to exhibit pride in their orientation by things as simple as holding hands with their significant other in public without a second thought.

And by the way, everyone who is posting that they might disagree with the 'lifestyle' but they are 'tolerant' and believe that those misguided gays still deserve respect...? Do you want a cookie? Congrats on being an almost-decent-but-not-quite person.

I am gay. I was raised in a VERY conservative, Christian household, and everything about my environment, upbringing, and socialization taught me that it was a choice, and that it was wrong. I denied being gay for a few years (I just had a lot of "girl crushes"), but eventually I just knew that it was what it was and I…

Yes, by the frozen vegetables! They're great. :)

I live off Trader Joe's, I swear to God. For snacks, I love their kettle corn, wasabi peas, peanut butter & oats bars, lentil and potato curls, sea salt and rice crisps, FRUIT FRENZY BARS!!!! (Sorry, I get really excited about that one, hahah). For meals, I keep my freezer stocked with: Tempura chicken Thai jasmine rice…

I eat around 2,000 (my goal is 2,200). Feel free to add me!

I have a $5 food scale from Target. It works just fine! I use it for anything that isn't a liquid, in which case I use cups or spoons.
-
I always retain water the week leading up to my period and during it. Don't sweat it!

I literally just posted a topic about how well this has worked for me! :) Yes, it does work for people with a lot of weight to lose. I am aiming to lose 85 and then maybe more, and so far I have lost 20 in around two months. It is SO doable. :)

A cold can of diet Coke - I don't drink pop and I DEFINITELY don't drink diet pop, but for some reason that helps. The only thing I want to eat is breakfast foods or Chinese.
-
I'll be 21 next month. I'm in my fourth year of undergrad in a Women's Studies degree. Anybody can feel free to add me! I have been wanting some more friends my age as well. :)
-
Okay, that makes much more sense! Thank you!

You might need to help me with the math here a bit. :) Avg cals eaten in three weeks: 14,670 Pounds lost in three weeks: ~5 (so 1.66 weekly) 1.66(3500)/7 = 830 + 14,670 = 15,500, which is a daily TDEE of 2,214 - eating at a 20% cut, my daily goal would be 1,772. Where am I going wrong here in my math? That doesn't seem…
-
Interesting! Thanks, folks! I will try that first!

Eh. I know I am in the minority on MFP as someone who believes whole-heartedly in body positivity and believes that you CAN be healthy at a larger size. I don't think there's anything wrong with the list.
-
I am 5'6.5 as well (5'7" on a good day). Honestly, my final goal is probably 180, but I'll wait and see what I look like at 200. I would be happy in a 12-14. I have a large frame and carry my weight fairly well, so I think 200 is a reasonable goal for that.

I really disliked Denver for some reason – it was just really stressful to me. Beautiful, but stressful. I like O'Hare and ATL. Kansas City (MCI) is okay - it's surprisingly small, which I appreciate it.
-
So far I have lost about 15 pounds in 1.5 months by eating a 20% cut from TDEE and trying to not eat below my BMR.

Calories do not reset at midnight. :) You should be just fine aiming to hit a weekly goal rather than daily.
-
That is such an incredible change! Good work! :)
