  •  Thanks Fisherlassie and FreckledLeann! I love your names BTW. Tamkeko2 - As always, thanks for the insight. I've had a few guys saying I was going to hurt myself lifting too heavy of a weight. :noway: I'll ignore them and keep adding the iron. StrongLifts is flipping awesome!
  • I copied my goals here too. Thanks for adding the separate goals sticky because they can be hard to find at the end of the month. I would like to lose a bit more on the scale and less inches if that's possible. I am losing my butt and boobs - not happy! I hit my goal weight of 125, but I would like to go down to 120 since…
  • I would like to lose a bit more on the scale and less inches if that's possible. I am losing my butt and boobs - not happy! I hit my goal weight of 125, but I would like to go down to 120 since I'm 5'1". I'm still doing cardio 4 times a week in addition to other weight machines. Doing S/L only was not enough for me, so I…
  • @chunkmunk - Thanks! My legs have always been strong, i think because I am only 5' 1/2", so I am compact. My upper body strength is weak in comparison. I'm 38 yrs old, so I'm not that far from 40 myself. I absolutely love squats. When I start, I have to have just the right song in my ear, and I wear gloves for all my…
  • Hi Everyone! This thread is growing like a monster already. I had an awesome February in my progression of building strength. I am feeling pretty bada$$ in the weight room - all 5ft 1/2inches and 126 lbs of me! I hope to start bench pressing this month since I will be getting some PT at the end of March. My progress so far…
  • Hi Ladies! I have been checking this board for a while and meaning to post once I got all caught up, Boy, this thread has grown! I have been doing SL since the 1st week of January, and I Love It! I can't believe how much strength I have gained with this program. I still mess around with the other weight machines a little,…
  • Mon - Fri: I run for 30 - 40 minutes on the treadmill. Then I hit the weights for 1-2 hours. Sundays - I do Zumba for 1 hr, and then lift weights for 1-1.5 hrs. This has been my schedule for the past year.
  • I have been doing SL for a month now. My new profile pic is a comparison pic of my progress from Dec - Feb. A month of this has really changed my body. My weight has stayed the same, but I have lost an inch off my wasist. I'm a believer!
  • I'm from Shaker Heights. Add Me!
  • I am 5'1" and I started at 155 in May of 2012. My currrent weight is 127lbs, and my goal weight is 120-125. I don't want to be too skinny. I still have a small pooch of a stomach, so once it's gone, I'm done.
  • I absolutely love Zumba! I try to go 2-3x per week, and I would go more if they offered more classes at my gym in the afternoon. I makes me feel like I've been out dancing at a club...only without the drinks. Zumba and running are my preferred cardio workouts.
  • I'm watching. i love Jillian and it motivates me even though they are under extreme conditions.
  • I'm 5'1 and I started at 155 last year in May, and I am now down to 127. My goal is 125lbs, so I'm close but it has still been a challenge. Cardio is what got me started - walking and Zumba. I then progressed to running and more Zumba and Dance Jam. Now, I am starting my weight lifting phase to tone and build muscle. I got…
  • I was definitely feeling the frustration this week. The parking lot was full when it normally is not, and all the snow dis not help the situation. I made sure I got there a little early to because I wanted my usual spot in Zumba class. Sure enough, the class was packed. I am trying to have empathy for those that are trying…
  • I'm in! I am on week 2 of Ripped in 30,. and I am doing it every other day. I run on the other days, and I don't want to injure myself by doing the same moves too many days in a row. It's a lot tougher than 30 day Shred, and I have Extreme Shed & Shred that I will do after RI30. I love Jillian's workouts, but i try to mix…
  • I'm in that sam eboat right now. i exercised hard today and I still feel bloated. My cravings and water retention begin 10 days befor my cycle which sucks! I don't eat gluten or dairy, but I have been craving both liek crazy the past couple of days. I am trying not to give in because I have been eating pretty clean for 8…
  • It is very interesting to see how weight and height do not determine one's pant size. I'm 5'1", 127lbs and i wear a size 6-8. My waist is a 26 and my hips are 35 inches. I think the hip measurement makes a big difference. I have always had a big butt, and I actually like my hip to waist ratio. I also have big legs, so I am…
  • This pretty much summarizes my Lifetime Fitness Club. You nailed it!
  • It's fun, but not a great work out. It's a good start to get moving, and it's better than just sitting and watching tv. Get the Wii Fit Plus for the most options. I like to play it with the kids.
  • Thanks for the link. It's going to be a busy morning from going through all of this. Great information!
  • I definitely prefer to workout alone. Every now and then my husband will go with me, but we only run together on the treadmill - no talking. Most of the time I am by myself. I don't even like to bring my children to the child care center because I don't want to hear my name on the loud speaker or be limited to a 2 hour…
  • Thanks! Your schedule is exactly what I am looking for. Do you ever do combine cardio and weight training on the same day? I'll check out the site too.
  • I am going to look up the New Rules of Lifting for Women. I had a trainer when I first started my weightloss journey but she is no longer at my club. I really do not feel like getting a new one after doing all of this by myself so far. Summer is only 6 months away, and I want to look amazing when it gets here. bdamaster60…
  • I am having this same issue today. I worked out hard with running and strength training, and I have not been hungry since then. I don't want to stuff myself with food because then I'll feel bloated. I was thinking maybe it was all the ab work I did today. Thanks for this post.
  • Thanks for the great visual. I think I'll aim for the 20% max and 17% for the minimum. I still want to be a little soft and curvy.
  • I had some of the same symptoms that you have. I stopped eating gluten, dairy, and sugar back in May, and my digestive problems stopped. I have had an intolerance to milk for years, but I dealt with it because I loved the taste. I worked out and ate right most of the time but I was having trouble losing weight and felt…
