SW: 170.0 CW: 170.5 GW: 150 Overall I have lost 6 pounds in the last 3 weeks, so it seems I am in a plateau.

Feeling discouraged...I lost a pound and a half by Wed and gained it back over Thurs and Fri. I guess my 3day average is less today than it was last Saturday, but still it is discouraging when there is no progress after counting calories all week. I think I am reaching a plateau after loosing 7 pounds over the previous 2…

you could follow a lower-carb diet for a while where you replace all your grains, sugars, and starches with vegetables. olive oil and lean proteins. I just started eating low carb myself and lost about 5 pounds in the last few days. I know that it is water weight, but my waist is smaller so who cares. I think eating too…

I am also 6 wks pregnant and trying to figure out how many calories to eat. to combat the nausea, I need to eat frequently so I am trying to eat less than full meals. it is really hard since our mfb calorie intake is way below the recommended 1800cal maintenance that most women add their 300 calories to. So, I am not sure…

Hi all, I am new to this forum. Just found out that I'm pregnant and dealing with the initial symptoms. Its crazy that the baby is smaller than my fingernail, but the hormones have so many effects. This is my second time, so I know what to expect. Last time I gained almost 60 lbs, so I am really going to watch it and keep…

I love that this site allows me to work out my half thoughts anonymously. We have been planning the wedding for over a year and it got pushed back to August because I needed time to plan it after finishing classes in May. I have been craving another baby for a long time now, and did not want external factors to make my…

I called V last night and she was really nice. She started the conversation by giving me an out and I took it. I feel like a big jerk, but at least i dealt with the situation in an honest way. Her daughter is pretty pissed at my poor manners, but V was very graceful and understanding. definitely one of the hardest things…

Thanks all! i think this is so hard for me because whatever I do, someone will be hurt. I do think that I have to stand by my mom even if her issues are only emotional. i will call V tonight, let her know how hard this is for me, and try to make up for it somehow!

don't worry Neuman! Most of that is probably water weight! It will come off real fast once you get back on track. I was off track for a few weeks eating whatever I wanted, and now I am back on my game and in a few days got my weight down down down!!!

Wow, I didn't think there were many people who focused on local organic food on this site. I have found that it is pretty difficult to log my calories since the system is really set up for packaged foods. I was an ovolactovegetarian after visiting an 'eco' hog farm while living in Costa Rica 9ya. They were showing off…

Nice Gaby! That's an ambitious plan. I am so happy in I get in 20min of aerobic something a day. Did pretty well eating today, and went jogging! I think the big difference is the lack of high-calorie temptations. A few weeks ago an entire pie and quart of ice cream made it into the house and I think I am finally recovering…

Hi, I am not familiar with the cleanse supplements that you have, but I have tried out some gentle herbal detox teas. Maybe the supplements are just too strong. Having bloating and an achy body is pretty normal as all the toxins are mobilized in your body. I learned about detox when my dad went through Chemo. While I don't…

hello all, nothing great to report here. after a bit of success last month, the last few weeks have been a bit lousy. My motivation has been waning and my appetite growing. I was doing really well with my workouts, but then getting soo hungry. I guess that I mentally let myself eat heartily hoping that if I satisfied The…

I have been mia for the last week (or two?), and that is real bad news for the scale. I had been doing so well, but now I am back to 148. boo. lots of end of the school year picnics and two weekend trips and my TOM all added up to too many extra calories. I have 12 weeks left until my wedding, so I need to step it up! I…

This week is going great! I have been making healthy food choices and exercising every day and I think I must have hit the right combination because I lost 2 pounds after going weeks and weeks without losing! this is especially amazing because I am in the middle of finals and it seems like everyone wants a piece of me…

yay I lost another pound! That makes about five since I started early this spring. I have been doing a bunch of the free workout videos on Comcast and I actually see definition in my belly. I can tell that things are getting toned, so I have more muscle. Yet I still have the same problem areas...I guess that there is not…

one of the problems with a high protein diet is that it makes your body acidic (which is unhealthy for a lot of your tissues). low carb/ high protein diets can leach calcium from your body (bad for your bones) and increase the rate of kidney stones. Keep things in balance by eating a lot of fruits and veggies (breakdown…

Hello everyone! welcome asltiffm. it sounds like you have established some healthy habits. You can keep it up! Gaby and Dee dee- To me it seems that eating only a portion of your exercise calories makes the most sense. I think gaby is right that the 'starvation mode' does not come as easily as you think. an 825 calorie…
